Do NOT Trust Bernache Autobody…read more I honestly don't even know where to start with how bad my experience was with Bernache Autobody. It's been almost six months since I took my truck there for repairs after hitting a deer, and I'm still finding issues that they caused. In fact, they've caused more damage to my truck than the deer did! Here's the situation: I hit a deer while driving at 40 mph. The only damage was a dented front bumper and some broken plastic in the grill. I continued driving my truck for weeks after, and then went through my insurance to get it repaired at Bernache. After about three weeks, I finally got my truck back--and it was an absolute disaster. The bumper was crooked, they used zip ties to fasten the wheel wells, the headlight wiring was just hanging underneath the truck, the fog lights were crooked and nonfunctional, and there were missing bolts and nuts throughout the front of the truck. This was not professional work; it looked like a child had put it together. Naturally, I sent the truck back. After another week, I got it back, and the problems only got worse. The headlights were now full of water (they claimed it was because the insurance provided cheap ones) and the daytime running lights were flickering. To top it off, my truck threw an engine code related to the radiator louver--a part they had touched. So, back to the shop it went. ....My truck is relatively new and had been in immaculate condition before the collision. After the third time I got it back, I realized they had replaced several front grill pieces with cheap aftermarket parts, which weren't even damaged in the collision. It felt like they were just trying to cut corners at every turn. Frankly, I feel like they're scamming people. The work they did is subpar at best, and I can't imagine how many other customers have left that shop thinking their vehicles were repaired by professionals, only to find out they were hastily thrown together with zip ties and inferior parts. I would not trust Bernache Autobody with any vehicle. If you care about your car or truck, go somewhere else.

I filed my claim with GEICO, and at first my estimate was within the range of repairs. About a week later I received a phone call from this business notifying me that my estimate had gone up double the cost for repairs, which put it in range of a total loss. When I looked over the list of newly added repairs, a lot of the things had NOTHING to do with the damage caused by what I had listed on my claim. It felt like they just tacked on a bunch of extra BS to up the cost and declare it a total loss. I'm very, very upset about the loss of my car, as it was my only transportation. While this may not be their fault entirely, I can't help but feel that I was let down.

Early this morning, I took it to my local garage to get the code scanned, and much to my dismay, it was the dreaded TCV... So around 8:30 this morning, I brought her in to Quirk Subaru to have them take a look and assess it for warranty coverage. As luck would have it, Mat F. let me know that I happened to still be just under the 5y/60k power train warranty at 57,853 miles (can I get an amen...), and the repair was covered in full. Not only did they cover the repair, but my vehicle was also finished and ready to be picked up by 3:30pm. Outstanding turnaround, and I've never experienced a simpler transaction. Thanks again!

Quirk put rear brakes on my Subaru 1.5 years ago at a cost of $600. Those brakes failed after only…read more20,000 miles of use (mostly highway miles on Rte 1). Brakes are supposed to last 30,000-60,000 miles. The front brakes that weren't replaced by Quirk lasted 80,000 miles, which is a good indication of my senior driving style. Quirk and National Subaru essentially said "too bad", the warranty was 1 year. I hope there will be a the class action suit to reimburse consumers for the crappy brakes Quirk and perhaps other Subaru service depts. are using. For this reason, I would not recommend Quirk for brake replacements.
