Two strikes; we will not use this company ever again. First bad experience: a driver never showed up after we pre-booked the night before. We called dispatch and the woman said she was trying to get a driver to us. We said forget it and drove ourselves. Now today, a driver showed up in a FOUR passenger vehicle. We pre-booked a five person van last night. The dispatcher repeated to us, "five passengers, five pieces of luggage" When the driver showed up with his vehicle, my husband said we wouldn't fit. The driver of the cab called dispatch, dispatch then called us. The woman on the phone said they didn't have us down for five people and it would be an hour to get someone to us. We have used Quincy Yellow Cab often for early rides to the airport since Uber and Lyft won't come out to Marina Bay early in the morning. We always book the night before. and tip well! We had requested a ride this morning at 5:20 AM for a 7:00 AM flight. We received a phone call at 5:30 stating the driver had pickup up another rider and could not pick us up! This is unacceptable! We then had to drive our car to the airport and will be paying $40/day to park for a 10 day trip. We are livid! What a terrible way to run a business!! I had a very early morning flight out and Yellow Cab had no problems with my early pick-up time. The lady on the phone was polite and clear. The cab driver came 10 minutes early too, at around 3:20 am. One potential problem was that I don't recall the lady on the phone asking for a phone #. So if the cab driver couldn't find my address (and he almost did not), it would've been a pain. The driver was pleasant though rather inquisitive. I did chat a little bit but I was more interested in just getting to the airport without much distraction. The ride was smooth and comfortable, as driving along the Southeast Expressway at that time shouldn't be too hard. Price was not too bad, which was $43 including tip and toll. Called this cab service today to get home from a mechanic shop about two miles away from my house. I was told by the dispatcher that the cab would get there in about 10 minutes and it actually got there in less than five so I was pretty happy with that. The fare came to seven dollars and change which wasn't too bad. The driver could have been a bit friendlier but that's okay. A deeply unpleasant and uncomfortable experience all around, made worse by the fact that he was so deep into his rants that he often forgot to drive through green lights. Getting a cab from the local super market is awful, when it is warm they come at a decent time when it rains/is cold fall winter forget about it. If it is snowing you will wait a long time I don't know if this is required of drivers but they sit in the car while you load/unload your food supplies, not all but some drivers. read more

There are two things I would expect from a cab company: they will know how to get you to your destination and they will display a slight bit of customer service. This company failed to do either. I called a cab and asked it to arrive at my home in 15 minutes. Three minutes later, the dispatcher called me and asked "where the f--- are you?" When I said I was inside, she said "The driver is waiting for you outside." I said that was fine, although I did not expect him to be there yet. Her response was to hang up. At that point, the cab driver started beeping his horn until I came out. My destination involved the following maneuvers: straight, left, left, straight. I suppose "stopping at the destination" was also one. The driver went 0 for 5. He left my house and went the wrong way, then yelled at me when I asked why we he had his right blinker on if the destination was to the left. After guiding him myself, he forgot to stop and drove past my destination. Again, I don't expect black limo service from a taxi, but this company really lacks the bare-bone essentials. read more

Not what I'd call top notch service -- among other things, if you're at one of the T stations late at night and there isn't already a cab there, they refuse outright to dispatch a cab (on the premise that one'll just show up, sooner or later). It's also pricier than I'd want, which in a city with a competing service makes little sense. Many of the cabs are in mediocre condition: given that the office on McGrath Highway is a dump, you might think the owner puts every dollar into a cabana on Tahiti. But I used Yellow Cab extensively for ten years when in Quincy, at least weekly (grocery shopping), and they were generally reliable. Beyond that, if there's a huge delay in getting cabs out to you -- avoid getting a cab around 4 PM, if you can, when there's a shift change -- they'll tell you, and are pretty frank about it. This is by no mean a given, as one can see in the review I'm about to give their competitor. That being said, their competitor bought them out about a month ago. Were I still living in Quincy, I'd be miffed, and you should keep an eye for service to deteriorate. read more

We've used this company a few times, but only for short trips within Quincy. The show up quickly, but the drivers range from offering to help us with our luggage to just waiting in the car. Each car we've been in has taken credit card, and their meters are nice and visible so you can anticipate how much you owe before getting out of the car. Through previous experiences, they've told us to just call at the time we need a taxi, i.e., not call the night before telling them when we need a taxi by...however, we learned the hard way, dont do this during a busy or quiet time, as one holiday they only had a handful of drivers, so the ETA for pick up was 15-60 mins! I appreciated their honesty though, as we needed to get to the airport by a certain time. Another random note, but I am always surprised how brief they are on the phone; they never read back your phone # or the address to confirm they wrote it down or heard you correctly...so far no hiccups, but I'd think it'd be better if they did that, as I always worry they'll end up in some random other location. read more

The credit card machine in the back seat always works and they ALWAYS know exactly where they are going. I have had to rely on yellow cab for early morning trips to Milton hospital, and even a ride home from the store when i buy something heavy. Yellow Cab always comes through for me and I know I can count on them to pick me up within 10-15 minutes of my phone call. Definitely the best cab service around. read more

Called the dispatch office, gave them my info and cab number. Within minutes the cab driver responded that he found the phone and returned it to their head office. The driver started our ride by scolding me for not telling the dispatcher which side of the building to use (no one asked); likewise, the drive never appeared on my side of the building, where a large parking lot exists. Hmm... The we took trip is exactly 1.8 miles, according to Google maps and the guy charged me 15 dollars, after having driven 5 minutes out of the way because he passed the correct street. EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED!!!! I called them late at night on thursday january 4 for a ride from the north quincy T station.I came in from the last subway.Their usually is a cab or cab(s) at that subway station.Their was a big snowstorm that day,but their were many snowplows out in the area.They recently took over other cab companies in the area too.I was standing outside in the freezing cold weather for about an hour with luggage!!!....they mentioned it could be about 20-30 minutes or so.*It should NOT have been that busy at that time of night.*After calling 911, a cab FINALLY showed up in about 5 minutes.I have a medical condition.This was EXTREMELY POOR service!!!I blame BOTH Yellow Cab & the MBTA for very bad S-L-O-W service!!!! Called for a ride to the airport for 2.45. At 2.50 I called to see if they were delayed. The lady on the phone said yes they were delayed. I then asked would they be much longer and she said "probably, we are busy and hung up" 4.05 the driver pulled up outside my apartment beeped the horn and called my cell phone. I've taken this Yellow Cab many, many times. Never have I ever encountered such a bad taxi driver until today. The man was not only unfriendly but told me he didn't know how to use the GPS in the taxi. I was so appalled that I told him to just drop me off at Quincy Center Station so I could take another cab to where I wanted to go. I've had almost all completely positive experiences with the folks at Yellow, and I have taken cabs from pretty much every company in town. The old timers are friendly and likable, and the dispatchers are always friendly when answering the phone, and have even engaged me in chat when I hadn't called in a while to check in on me. Great service. I see the other post complaining it sometimes takes 20 minutes and others takes 5, but that is to be expected. Some days are busier than others. And I am also of the mindset you don't call a cab until you're ready to go. If you're concerned it will take them 20 minutes to show up, be ready 20 minutes early. Don't get mad at them for metering if you call them when you aren't ready and they come quickly. read more

Most drivers are extremely rude and impatient AND NOT ALL DRIVERS WEAR MASKS. I waited over 25 minutes for a cab only for him to pull up to where I was and almost leave a minute later. This isn't a one time thing this is a continuous problem. I understand that cabs aren't going to wait around all day but when you have your customers waiting around all day the least you can do is wait there a few minutes!!! I've had to get on the cab with heavy bags which takes me a second to get down the stairs and have been RUDELY rushed by these drivers. These drivers do not know how to be professional or kind. Oh and the people that answer the phone?! Even more rude!!!!! Always have an attitude over the phone, always extremely ignorant, a few times that I've called the person over the phone is rudely eating then claims to not hear anything (due to the loud crunching) and has customers basically yelling over the sound of crunching. I've had so many bad experiences with this company, as recently as yesterday July 4th. I took a cab to a family members house down the street and the cab driver, who did NOT HAVE A MASK ON AND GOT UPSET WHEN I ASKED IF HE HAD ONE, took a wrong turn and kept going down the wrong street to add more to my total. These drivers are some of the worst, rudest drivers I've ever experienced. And I've taken cabs in Boston and New York. Would not recommend to anyone, especially anyone that's not white. I'm not going to waste too much time writing about these guys. Basically, here's what happened: We call them from a bar in Quincy around 9 PM for a pickup. No one came, so we called again, and they acted like the first call had never been placed. They arrive about 20 minutes after that. We should have closed out, but we didn't, so we asked for a minute to sign the bill. The man behind the wheel said 'yes,' but when we came back out two minutes later, he was gone. Again we called the dispatcher (third call for one cab at a relatively dead hour on a Tuesday night), who informed us that apparently we only had $5 on us, which is why the cabbie left. Of course, this was not the case, but the dispatcher couldn't care less, and told us that another cab might be able to pick us up in about 20 minutes. What?.. then she told us, "if you don't like it, walk." read more

After the MBTA bus blew me off by just leaving me at the bus stop I walked to President's Plaza in Quincy.(Holy Moly it was at least 2 miles) After I finally got there I went to the Dollar Store, my actual destination, I decided not to trust the MBTA bus so I called Quincy Cab. This is the WORST business I have ever encountered. I dont even believe that the reviews below are real people because they are so untrue. I wish I could give them zero stars. Four times I have called this company, 2x for a ride to the airport, 1x for a ride to Amtrak, 1x for a ride to Logan Express. I missed the Amtrak train because the driver showed up 15 minutes late. When i called, the dispatcher was rude and told me I wasnt the only one waiting. Thats fine, but at least let me know so I can arrange other transport. 2x, the cab didnt even show up. Again when I called, I was told 5-10 mins, "we're really busy"...etc...very rudely. When I called again after the first two times, they just stopped picking up. The other airport trip I barely made it because of the same poor service. One time I scheduled a cab for a ride to the airport the next AM, they never showed up, when I called, they said they dont schedule cabs in advance and you just need to call ahead that morning- ok, well why was I able to do that last night? She said they had no record of my calling. Its always the same excuse, 5-10 mins, ok, fine but I need to be there 10 minutes ago, not leave in 10 minutes from now. You cant just be late for things like planes, and trains. They WILL leave without you. Every time I have had to take on a lot of extra cost due to the unexpected failure of the cab to show up. Parking at Logan is so expensive- hence why I called a cab in the first place! The ridiculously rude attitude of the dispatchers only adds salt to the wound. read more

We have used this company to go to the cruise terminal on several occasions. On both trips we were taken through Chinatown to get to Summer St in South Boston in the opposite direction resulting in a one way fare of roughly $55.00. This is a metered ride as is a trip to the airport. On the way home today we told the driver to go by way of L street in South Boston however he did not turn on the meter. When I pointed this out to him he said I could pay him what I paid the other guy who took us through Chinatown. We ended up paying $60.00 for what should have been a $45.00 ride. The issue here is not so much the money but rather the attempt to deceive the customer into paying more money which because of our easy nature they were able to do. If using this company, know your route and be sure the driver stays on it. Be sure the meter is used if going to the cruise terminal or airport or you may end up paying more than you should. Some of these drivers could also use a course in courtesy and customer appreciation. We have had good drivers from this company and appreciate the service provided however we give them one star for the deceptive practices of some of their drivers. read more
