This bar wasn't far from where we were staying and we happened to pass by here almost everyday, so we finally decided to check this place out. The bar was still super cheap, and I loved that everyone was just here to enjoy a drink and chat with friends. It gives off a local dive bar vibe, which I really liked. Apparently there's also a rooftop (I was looking at the reviews here), but we didn't get a chance to check it out as it was nighttime and raining when we visited. Overall a great spot for cheap beer and good hangs.

Came here on our last night in Lisbon to enjoy a few last caipirinhas with a view, and this place did not disappoint. We were served pretty much immediately after taking a look at the extensive bar menu and picking our poison. I went with the black caipirinha, my partner stuck to the traditional one. We walked around the back to access the upstairs patio which was relatively empty when we first got there, but filled up considerably as the night went on. You can see the top of the castle lit up at night from the rooftop patio as well as lots of the city, which is really a sight to see. Our drinks were strong and well made. Definitely stop by at some point during your trip to Lisbon!

This place was down the street and had no reviews, but it was raining and we took a chance. And yeah, glad we did - as we came in, it was a small place and empty. We were told they only had pizza - but what pizza! Ultimately, the music was a cool kind of local upbeat ska, the pizzas were the best I've have anywhere in the world in a while, and the beer was lovely. Highly recommend!!

There was about a hundred people inside singing along, and another hundred outside watching from the window. At one point the power went out and everyone just continued singing without skipping a beat. It was seriously one of my favorite nights in Portugal, and I'm pretty sure it was just a Tuesday.

His colleague, a very pretty, tattooed lady, was a bit shy but nice. Where else can you get a caneca and a bottle of Heineken for a total of only €4.50? I'll tell you where - the bar across from the train station in Tunes (Silves) down in the south of Portugal! But you won't hear any rock and roll there! We presumed Principe Real is Lisbon's mellower gayborhood. Embedded in an affluent residential area, this is where we headed after a full day in Belem. Despite some navigational challenges, this bar was our first stop. If you happen to gravitate toward the bulkier, more hirsute members of your brethren, this is the low-key bar for you. Initially we were confused by the smattering of straight couples hanging in the front patio, but when we entered, the gay element was much more prominent. Groups of gregarious men in tanktops were at the various hi-top tables. Lonelier bears hung out at the smallish counter. It wasn't that crowded even though it was a balmy night. My only wish is that these is more of a way to help navigate the canned selection. I know a lot about beer but it's hard to decide on these because there isn't much in the way of write ups, just suggestions from whomever is there working or drinking. I normally stick with the tap, in general. I suggest taking the drinks out by the park on nice days. I really like this little area.

This place has quite a nice selection of beer, for a small store. Mostly European, and I was excited to see all the BrewDog from Scotland and Mikkeller from Denmark. Also surprised to see many Rogue Ale's beers, even on draft as well. There is a shelf for Portuguese craft, some from Lisbon. The girl working there, Ann Marie, is the best. She's really knowledgeable about the beer. When I asked her about a label, she'd tell me - their best beer is XXX, which I don't have right now, but of the two I have, this one is better. She is honest about her opinion - they waited six month to get this beer, she was really excited to try it but felt rather let down. She also enjoys giving trivia - the label Electric Nurse from Denmark comes from the occupations of the founders - one is an electrician and the other a nurse. She lets me sample the draft before deciding which one I want. Last but not least, she is diligent with regular sampling of the beer to ensure quality. ; ) The place has a relaxed vibe, with some games and books for entertainment. We just sat at the bar and chatted with locals, about beer, food, and everything. A really lovely way to spend an afternoon of our vacation, rather than hurrying around like crazy tourists. If you prefer, Praça Das Flores is just across the street, a park where you can totally enjoy a little corner of nature. Beers are not cheap here. The bottles costs over €3 each, and drafts mostly €4-6. Whereas a Sagres usually costs me €2 or so. However, if you don't feel it's worth paying extra to support craft and quality beer, then by all means stay with your Super Bock.
