I had a taste for fried chicken yesterday and Googled for best fried chicken near me. Gray Foods…read morecame up as some of the best, so I took a ride. This was my first time in the store, everything looked clean and orderly, employees were friendly. it was a good vibe. I grabbed a few other items, some mushrooms, soda pop, a cantaloupe and a 12 piece chicken dinner. This morning I looked at my bank statements and noticed the charge at Gray's seemed a little high. I still had the receipt in my sweater pocket and instantly saw the "discrepancy." My $1.49 cantalope was priced by the pound, something I've never seen anywhere else. Naturally at $1.49 I picked the largest one, I paid $8.27 for one cantalope. I guess I should have paid better attention, but I've never seen cantalope priced by the pound anywhere else, ever. No more visiting Gray's Foods for me because it's a little out of the way and the chicken wasn't that good.
