This is particularly true of coffee and other beverage options which cover everything from frozen drinks to an impressive amount of flavored coffees. For goods like chips, soda, beef jerky, etc. there's also a better than average selection at fairly reasonable prices. I also like how the gas pumps were pretty good here and there was plenty of spacing between each station. With several options for filling up gas off the highway, the size and setup of this Travel Center makes it one of my preferred options.

Unfortunately after all of the questions, I had to see the cashier, leave my driver's license and credit card while I refuels. I did not think I was in Gary, IN but it sure felt like it at this station. The station was very understaffed, only one at the counter tending to 6 customers. Each trucker has to go through a long winded process before they can go back and refuel. It seemed so inefficient. While I had not needed a restroom break, 30 minutes in, I best just make a stop as well. Wasting 30 minutes at a simple refueling stop is such a waste of time, considering my journey was a 2.5 hour run. Imagine every stop on a 10 hour trip! There might be a better option along the way. Might feel safer too. Glad I did not stop here in the evening I think it'll get sketchier when the sun is down.

They had 3-4 pizzas that actually looked decent for a convenient store. Seems handy for the truckers. .55 for ice. Really? Bathrooms were clean; which is always a plus.

The parking lot leaves a little to be desired but we pulled into pump 11. The pump ahead of us that was out of order as was another off to the side. Inserting the credit card multiple times led to multiple "card not read" errors so I made the trek inside to turn on the pump and pay. There was a dude at the register who didn't seem very interested in me and after he was done fiddling around with his stuff he looked up and acted like he was going to help. So I asked if he could turn on pump 11 for us. He said it's all prepay and then when I told him my credit card didn't work he said well you can prepay and then whatever gas you don't use will refund to your card. I decided this was too much of a pain in the ass for us to ever stop here again. It is kind of looking like a run-down location you kind of feel like you've gone into "the hood" so to speak. My guess is they won't be open next time we come by. It's hard to run a prepay gas station when your card readers don't work. Probably explains the ghost town look of the place compared with the busy activity of all the other stations in the locale. We ended up at Speedway just up to road for the same price and a lot nicer digs. Our card read with no issues.

Either way you're gonna wait in line for at least 30 minutes in their drive-through.
