I am new to Rockford and researched for an auto maintenance home for our family's five cars. Kurt's is the bomb.com!!! Went in with tire issues. The staff on 'the lube side' made my day. Polite, informative, took time to educate me on the fine points regarding tires. They even fixed my squeaky door and vacumed my rugs! They did not take advantage of me, a more mature and uninformed woman. I came out so pleased and blessed to have chosen Kurt's! The new home for ALL things auto! THE BEST! Big thanks, Alex and Victor..... read more

Another shop messed up our vehicle and we called Kurts to see what they were able to do in order to fix the problem. They were able to get us in quickly and at a fair price to get the vehicle up and running. read more

Kurts has always been a reliable source for oil changes and auto repair work. My father trusted them for years before he past away. The work that they do to keep my car running properly and always giving the best auto advice is very valuable with traveling to work alot. read more

Normally I love coming here, as they've always had great service and kind customer service. However today I was disappointed to find none of the employees were wearing masks to protect themselves and their customers. Not cool! read more

Karen was taking her vehicle to a shop that in my opinion was a bit pricey plus I thought that they were adding things that her vehicle didn't need. I suggested Kurt's and both of us will go nowhere else. Tom and the crew at the Harrison Ave. location fix it right the 1st time at an extremely affordable and justifiable price. read more

I brought my truck to Kurt's based on a recommendation from my father and another friend. I'm glad they did. My truck needed to have the brakes worked on. They were getting soft and I knew that there was a problem. I made an appointment, was able to drop it off and head on my way. They called me to keep me up to date with what they found and what their recommendations where. They made their recommendations and were not pushy if I declined some of the services. I ended up needing new rotors and some other maintenance. They were able to get it all done in the same day and for well under what I had been quoted from other shops. A couple of weeks later my wife tells me that I have no brake lights on my truck. Not that I had one that was out, but all of them. I figured it was an electrical issue. I go back to Kurt's and explained my problem. They had me in a bay and working on it in minutes. Fortunately it was just I burned out the bulbs at the same time. WHEW! Very friendly, very helpful and reasonably priced. read more

I would like to send a big THANK YOU for your professionalism, and for saving me a lot of money. A few weeks ago my truck was making a "pinging noise". I took it in to get it looked at and the mechanic who looked at my truck. Did some research, and found the there was a service bulletin from GM about this "Pinging noise" In the engine. He told me to take my truck to a GM Dealership because it should be covered under "The power train warranty" I did and after some back and forth GM has agreed to replace my engine, and it's free to me. So a 100 THANK YOU's for your professionalism and for the $1000's that you saved me. read more

This place got my business because they answered their phone!! They were very professional and got me right in for oil change. After reading a bunch of positive reviews I decided to bring my car here when the engine seemed to be misfiring. When I explained to the mechanic what was happening with the car he just looked at me like he had no idea what I was saying. Afterward he asked what I wanted him to do with the car... I had already said that I didn't know what the problem was so maybe a good start would be to diagnose it? A few hours later the mechanic called still unsure what to do. A few months before I had similar issues caused by a spark plug so I asked him if he checked those and he said he'd replace them but couldn't guarantee that would fix the problem. Why would you replace something that's not the cause of the problem? Why are you trying to charge for services I don't need? I gave up and told him to give me a minor tuneup so I could just have my car back. read more

Four out of Five Stars because I like to save my five star ratings for the freakishly good. But I have only good things to say about Kurt's Service Center. I am new in Rockford Area. So when I needed an oil change, I did a quick search online for the best mechanic in town. A lot of people say that is Kurts so I decided to give them a try. I brought my own oil and filter. They were fast and well priced ($24 for labor). I was there for about 20-30 minutes max. What I really appreciated is that even with a simple procedure like an oil change they were up front and honest about everything. For example: I brought in 6 quarts of oil and the computer said that my car model required seven. They let me know, and I agreed to buy another quart. Then when he finished putting in the six, it leveled off fine without needing the extra quart. He could have charged me for the seventh, which I had already agreed to buy at the recommendation of the automated computer guide. But he didn't. Honesty: the second best quality in a mechanic (the first being able to fix your car, of course). read more

Was rolling through and had an issue with my POS. They got me in even though the garage was stacked up. Highly recommend these guys. read more

I have had my car repaired here three times over a 2 year period, and have been satisfied each time. Kurt's was recommended to me by a long-time Rockford resident. I have an old car, and they've given me honest advice about what absolutely needs repair, and what is optional. The employees are very helpful and explanatory. I am only moderately car-savvy, and I have never felt taken advantage of. read more

Called in to make an appointment to have the oil changed on my '06 Saab. Despite the car having a GM engine they refused to change the oil on the car. I offered to tell them the part number. They do change the oil on that specific engine, but only if it's under a standard GM name vehicle, which makes exactly no sense. Also refused an offer for me to come in an show them how the oil is changed in a Saab (there's no magic involved). I'm rating a 2 because the shop seemed to lack the basic understanding of what engine was in the car and flat out refused because they didn't recognize it as a GM product. read more

Was told my auto needed a replacement Valve Cover Gasket from a well known Automotive Shop on South Alpine. I was told it was cracked and was leaking oil. I waited a little while and decided to call another place to check on prices. I called Kurt's and asked if the could do it and how much they would charge..Wow it was gonna be $60.00 less than the other place! And they could get it in that same day! I got a call later in the day by the Owner. He said nothing was wrong with it..No crack..No leaks! He wasn't going to replace the part if it wasn't necessary! WOW! Seriously? They checked my car out from front to back..Checked tires..Air..Fluids...Lights..I was taking a trip out of town and they wanted it to be safe! Well my car will only be serviced by Kurt's from now on! Thanks to Nathan and Bob for their honesty and the Techs for working on my car! read more

After moving back to the Rockford area, Kurt's is the first place I went to to get my oil changed. I will continue to come to Kurt's as long as I stay in the area. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! Mechanics who are honest, hardworking, fast, professional, and will save you money! Notice I said HONEST first....that's hard to come by in any profession. My family has been bringing our cars to Kurt's for a very long time. This place will diagnose your problem and then help you find the most affordable solution. They will NOT throw parts at you to do a quick fix and get you out the door. This group actually cares about their customers and treats your vehicle as if it was their own. Quick shout out to Fernando...my son had dropped me off to pick up my car and his car was T-boned when he left. We were about a block away from the shop. Fernando walked over and made sure we were ok. He then offered to drive my sons car over to a body shop while I followed! He saw how shaken up we were. I couldn't believe it! No need to read any more reviews, people....save yourself time and give Kurt's a call! read more

Kurt's Service Centers took good care of my family when our minivan broke down in the middle of a long trip. I called Kurt's just barely before closing time on a Friday, and they made extra efforts to help us secure a rental, get our vehicle to the shop, and take care of the repair while we went on our way. They even arranged it so we could pick it up while they were closed. Thanks to Kurt's the whole situation was as stress free as it could've been, and only cost us about 1 hour of time. Oh, and the price was right too. Thanks Kurt's! read more

Very helpful and friendly. They stayed a little past closing time to help me and make sure I could get temporary fix so I could get home safe and comeback for the new tire. I would definitely come back and recommend them for others. read more

After making an appointment to have a tailgate switch fixed, i dropped my car off and was told it would only take a few hours. After 4 hours I called to see if they had any answers and they still had not gotten to it. after a few more hours I had to cal again because they still did not call me to let me know what was wrong. The short of the story is I had to tell them I was coming to get my vehicle, fixed or not because it is the only one I had, When I get there Ray tells me the work I need done is not covered by a warranty that I called myself to make sure it was covered before I took it there, so good job calling! Then they proceed to charge me 90 bucks for nothing and tells me I need new windshield wipers. I have had work done with Kurt's before and was very happy, will never go back there now. That man sure made me feel like I was back in and age where women were not respected. read more
