Tropical salad

Quick stop for one of my favorite salads in the area. Fresh, ripe strawberries and mango make this healthy option soar in my opinion. I request no cheese or tomatoes but you can enjoy it any way you want! Say hi to Scott Quigley.. he is the mastermind behind the concept.

I met Quig at his other restaurant Two Dudes seafood. He told me about this place. That and the great reviews made it a must try on my next Jacksonville trip! I was not disappointed. I got the Ultimate Burger without a bun and the Pork rinds. The rinds came out popping! They were hot and fresh! Amazing. The burger was really good too! Juicy patties with crispy bacon and grilled pastrami! Yummmy! The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Nice clean restaurant with great food and service. I will be back!

Delicious burgers, and excellent staff! Will be coming back soon, definitely recommend.

This is a little hole in the wall burger joint in a strip mall next to a gas station. Tips for a successful visit... 1) Don't be in a hurry. They make everything fresh (the sign at the counter says so) and apparently that means killing the cow and harvesting the garden. Our order took 35 minutes. Not that it wasn't tasty, just don't get in a twist if you expect speedy, because this isn't it. 2) The appetizers are "ok". My daughter loves mozzarella cheese sticks. She only ate one because they were only lukewarm. Same with my fried pickles. 3) Young lady at the counter was very friendly. 4) Mushroom burgers were delicious. Fair warning, take your statin (cholesterol medicine for you youngsters) before you come because they are artery cloggers. 5) Fries were great.

This is in a strip mall with a gas station. We pulled it up as a places to eat on our drive home and got good reviews. You go up to the counter and order and pay the pick a seat and they bring your food to you. . They had some high top tables, some tables with chairs, and then tables that had a long cushioned bench on the other side. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and since we had never been there, we asked what her two favorite things were and she said the burger that my husband got and fried shrimp, but I really want a sandwich so I got the chicken sandwich My husband said his snake bike burger was very good. My chicken sandwich was a fried chicken sandwich. I don't think it had anything special to it. They toast the bun and they put lettuce, tomato pickles, and onions on it. The french fries were good, but they were seasoned and that's not my favorite. I prefer regular. The food was served pretty quick. I feel $2 for a piece of cheese is expensive. Our 2 sandwiches with a side of fries without anything to drink came to $39.49. I don't think we will be back.

Ultimate Burger

Well after saving this location on my list for awhile I finally made it yesterday. It was my family of three which includes my 14 year old daughter and my friend who has two younger kids, 5 and 7. None of us had been there before and the owner helped us understand what the menu offered and the quality of the food which I appreciated. One thing I want to call out is he offered to have the younger kids food come out first (something I know you almost always have to suggest yourself). On to the food... The ladies had salmon fish tacos and they loved them. My daughter was determined to get the Ultimate burger which is HUGE. She loved every bite and she could only eat about half so it made for good leftovers. It's made with high quality meat like Angus beef and brisket. I think I'm getting that next time. I had the loaded chicken tenders with everything on it. I could tell at the first bite this was not cheap chicken meat which hard breaded tenders. The fries with the tenders and jalapeños were a perfect combination. I apologize there's not pictures for all this food but I made sure to get a pic of the burger. It's one of a kind. The interior is clean and service was great as you can tell the owner cares about his food and his customers. I'm glad we found another option to the typical franchises around here. Our friends said they'll definitely be back too.

Small location, seriously great burgers. They serve more than burger (salads, chicken) but I think the big draw is their burgers and homemade sauces. To start off with their burgers are made the combination of Angus beef and ground chuck, and the patties come out about a full quarter inch tall. You can double stack them, which my son and I did on this first visit of ours. He loved the double stack, but I thought it was almost too much. So you make your choice, you can't go wrong with either. A little about the restaurant. it is counter serve, it's fairly small, but it's ridiculously clean and service was wonderful. When we were there, we were served by Jade and was friendly, engaging and clearly wanted to make sure we had the best experience. When I told her we wanted to try all the different sauces with our fries, she didn't hesitate and came back with a smallsamples of each. Hats off to her. But you wanna know about the food: NOTE ALL SAUCES ARE HOMEMADE. Ranch - good, really good Honey Mustard - love, but I love honey mustard Spicy Ranch - another good one Coconut - different, but I just don't think they're good for fries, I'm sure they'd be fantastic on seafood, specially shrimp Tartar - perfection Q - Sauce - hands down FAVORITE, delicious. Ultimate Burger - my son was in heaven, big thick slices of bacon, with all the fixings. The two patties stood about a half inch tall without the bun.. Double patty burger - I did to make your own version comment and as I said before, maybe a little too much meat for me, so when I go back, I'm gonna go for the single. There's a lot to love about the spot, the cleanliness, the service, the homemade sauces, but the real draw is the burgers. I'm already planning my next trip back.

Quig's Meats & Eats! We had the BEST burger in JAX here. Local business with excellent service. It seems nearly impossible to get a perfect burger, but I have found it! Not to mention, the SEASONED fries!!! Breathtaking! We met Quig himself! What a nice, down to earth guy who shared his story about getting into the restaurant business and provided lovely customer service regarding our meals. My mom has particular buyer requests, she likes them well done. Quig's team successfully delivered the perfect burger for her! The whole experience was so pleasant and I will be forever recommending Quig's Meats and Eats! So next time you're craving a good burger, some seafood, or wings; head down to Quigs!

They came with their own barbecue sauce, and the portion was just the right amount. My daughter ordered the buttered noodles and loved them too. I also thought the appetizer menu and the wood-fired pizza selection were a nice touch. I honestly expected it to be more expensive since it's located at a country club, but the prices were very reasonable. It wasn't overly crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. We entered the Cimarrone neighborhood, and the security guard at the front gate pointed us right to the restaurant. You don't have to be a member to visit this restaurant, there are different prices for members and non-members. As first time visitors, we were quickly welcomed at the reception area and seated had a very comfortable table with a view of the golf course, and opportunities to watch some sporting events on the handful of TVs that they have surrounding the restaurant / bar. Our server, Ava had a great energy and a bright smile, and delivered excellent service throughout. The menu is vast and diverse, I had some shrimp tacos which were excellent, along with a fresh iced tea - Ava Even brought a carafe of iced tea on the side so we could pour our own refills... Nice touch. Even at the non-member rate, the meal was quite affordable averaging just over $20 per person including meal, tip, tax. Views of the golf course are beautiful, the high ceiling dining room has a modern light fixture, it's just a beautiful spot overall. We visited the pro-shop and bought reasonably priced golf wear. I also noticed a screen that referenced Father's Day specials, so I'd anticipate they offer other specials during holiday times. My wife and I look forward to returning to this wonderful place.

I got here as they opened on Sunday, and it got packed relatively quickly. I'd recommend having a reservation if you're planning to visit during busier timeframes like this. I was seated promptly by attentive staff, and quickly had both food and drink menus to begin ordering. I was looking for something tasty without being too heavy, and settled on the Little Hans Vienna Lager along with the 8 oz steak burger and fries. The beer had amazing flavor similar to Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager with a good, crisp finish. The burger meal, described with "Tillamook cheddar cheese, caramelized onion & bacon jam, beef fat aioli, grilled potato roll, truffle fries", was arguablely the best burger and fries I've ever had in my life. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavor of the wood-fired grill certainly complemented the meat. The house-made pickles were a great touch to add another layer of complexity to the burger. I could tell the fries were fresh cut and never frozen. The truffle oil made these even more amazing. The manager offered and brought a special sauce to try that they normally serve with their chicken chicken sandwich that was superbly tasty and tangy. More than impressed with my entree, I elected to try a desert and was recommended the S'mores pie by my waitress. The deliciously buttery crust was my favorite part of the ensemble and blended well with the savory chocolate filling topped with a toasted marshmallow. While a bit pricey for lunch compared to most places, I was more than satisfied with the offerings provided here and would love to visit Ember and Iron again. Give my number one choice of 2026 thus far some love!

They were happy to make our order even though they were already cleaning up. I had the fried cod with coleslaw and fries. My husband had the fish tacos and clam strips as well. Both of us very much enjoyed our food. It was cooked fresh. The french fries or steak fries are cut thinner than steak fries and are kind of scooped out a little bit. They were very good and perfect for ketchup and other sauces. I'm always glad when a fish fry place has malt vinegar available. That means they're serious! Lol. The fish is lightly breaded and very flaky. The coleslaw is creamy and sweet. I didn't try the clam strips, but they looked good! And the tacos were very tasty! The restaurant is super clean! And the restrooms are super clean as well! It's a very plainly decorated eating establishment, but very comfortable as well. They are located in the plaza on 210 where Grumpy's is located (but it's tucked away in a corner back by the cigar bar). They have some yard signs in the plaza that advertise a $10 lunch special. When we walked in, we went to the counter and checked out their lunch specials. The $10 lunch special includes a main, fries, and a drink. Some of the items on the lunch special were a fish fry, fish tacos, clam roll, shrimp roll, etc. I ordered the fish tacos, my dad ordered the fish fry, and my mom got a clam roll. Everything was made to order. Our items came out roughly 7 minutes after we ordered. For $10 you get a sizeable fish fry, for $10 you get two fish tacos and a plentiful side of fries, and the clam roll was chockfull of clam strips. The fish was perfectly fried. It wasn't heavy, it was light and crisp. I loved the addition of the remoulade sauce. The fries were delicious. I would definitely come back here again.

A Favorite Worth Returning To!…read more I've been to Poppy's several times for a variety of occasions, and I have yet to have anything short of a wonderful experience! One of my favorite things to do is take advantage of their early bird special. You choose your entrée from their early bird menu, and your meal includes a salad, delicious garlic bread, and a glass of wine. What's not to love? Personally, I love upgrading to their wedge salad, and let me tell you, it's worth every bite! Between the creamy blue cheese, balsamic glaze, and crispy onion straws, this salad could make even someone who doesn't like salads drool! I had every intention of snapping a picture, but apparently my appetite had other plans. It was gone before my camera stood a chance! With all the restaurants I could have chosen for my birthday dinner, I picked Poppy's. That alone should tell you how much I enjoy this place! My Caesar salad was just the right size - included with entree - and they added a couple of anchovies per my request. The linguine and clams were great and portions were huge. I'm fairly certain everyone dining that night left with a to go box since the meals could easily feed 2. Add a couple more fans to this restaurant. Just a note - they no longer serve pizza. I happened to notice after I gave my menu back that I didn't see pizza and confirmed with our waitress. Apparently they stopped a few years ago at the other location and never did at this location.
