Bad habits, as in bad customer service, are hard to break. Based on a one-star, constructive review I wrote describing the terrible service my mother experienced last year, Quiescence Spa expressed a "sincere" apology and offered us 2 free massages. Sweet! I decided to give them another chance and take them up on their offer. I replied to their email with a proposed date for an appointment. To my dismay, a week passes with no response. Despite a follow-up, yet another week passes with no response. (Scratching head) I thought you wanted to make it up to my Mother and I? After all, you only ruined our Mother's Day last year. This was my first official massage and has totally set the standard for anywhere else I've been. The staff are professional, courteous, and do not press any extras upon you. There's absolutely no stress about buying memberships, coming back regularly, etc. Their massage therapists are very knowledgeable and really know what they are doing. I bought a Groupon here for a couples massage, and I am so glad I did! Typically when deals like this appear, the stores never have enough time slots or there is a time constraint, like weekdays only... BUT Quiescence Day Spa did not fail me. It's easy to book an appointment, the staff calls you back within the hour that you leave a message, and everyone is so courteous and professional. When I showed the front desk my Groupon on the phone, she even helped me mark it as used. Thanks lady! Lastly, I just want to say. Jacque has amazing hands, period. My boyfriend wanted to talk to me while I was getting my 1-hour massage. No avail, I ignored him since I was pretty much in ecstasy. I also bought some bath salts before I left because they were on sale. My Eucalyptus bath salts are ah-may-zing! If I go to Petaluma again, I'm stopping by at this place for sure! read more

While we have moved away now, this was my Go To Place for massages!! I walked by a few times when parking in the parking structure, and finally went inside to investigate. I'm glad I did!! It's a very relaxing atmosphere inside, and the people are great! While I was a bit chicken to have a guy give me a massage, Jacque was fantastic!!! His calm demeanor put me at ease right away. After that, I was requesting Jacque every time! I have never had a problem getting an appointment and their rates are very reasonable. So I caved and bought a LivingSocial deal for a massage at this day spa. It took me a while to book because I'm rarely in Petaluma. I spoke with the owner, Jacques, to set up the appointment for this coming weekend. I got kind of a weird vibe fom him as he bragged a bit about his massage expertise and though he mentioned there were a lot of people working that day I got the impression I'd be scheduled with him. Yesterday he calls me to tell me that he has to cancel my massage because he's giving up the space there, too much overhead, and now he'll only be doing out calls. So I called LivingSocial to get a refund and they tell me they contacted the spa and were told they have no intention of moving or closing the doors. So, I'd like to know, which is it? Closing? Staying? Why would this creep lie to me about shutting down the business? And if you arent making enough income to make a business float, why cancel clients? Wouldn't you just book any new clients as outcalls and keep your existing clients on the books? Whatever the reasons, either myself or the people at LivingSocial were lied to by the owner, Jacques. If I were you, I'd stay far far far away from these strange untrustworthy people. read more

What a wonderful find thanks to Groupon! I scheduled a 90 min hot stone with Jacques a few weeks in advance as they are very booked (and deservedly so). The day of my massage he called and left me a message informing me that he was unfortunately running behind schedule and would need to push my appointment back. Now, I am a hypnotherapist and a massage therapist who understands how a few clients running late can throw off your entire schedule for the day, so no sweat on my end. I arrived at our newly stated time and noted that he had kindly left a note on the door with my name on it just in case I didn't receive his voicemail. Jacques opened the door for me and profusely apologized for running late. Since all of the treatment rooms had been used it took a few minutes to change over the linens and prep the room for my treatment. It was at that time when I received a text informing me that my rehearsal for that evening had been pushed forward! I told Jacques of my dilemma and that I would only be able to receive an hour massage. He again apologized for pushing back my appointment and then offered to credit the unused half hour, give me an amazing deal on a one hour massage, and threw in the hot stones for free!!! I have now received 2 amazing massages from Jacques and will definitely be returning with my boyfriend for a couples massage. read more

My husband and I literally just came home a few hours ago from our massage there. It was really good!! I had my massage done by Jacques and it was one of the better massages I have had in a while. He is very friendly but not overly so, just the right amount hi, how are you, and asking occassionally during the massage if I was comfortable, was pressure OK. I was pretty sore from working out on a regular basis and felt like a million bucks when I left -- all the soreness in my lower back was gone. The lotions/massage oils were great too -- just the right amount, and did not feel overly "greased up" when I left. Oh and the calf and foot massage -- HEAVEN! Even when he massaged my fingers -- really awesome. My husband had Heidi and told me it was probably the best massage that he has ever had -- which is saying a lot because he typically is not a massage guy. He too appreciated that she occassionally asked if all was OK and then the rest of the time peace and quiet. Very nice vibe at the spa -- not uppity at all but not too hippy dippy either. A pleasant surprise! The day and time that I wanted a massage there weren't any masseuses available however, there was one masseur available. At first I was reluctant to have a male masseur however, it was the only thing that worked with my schedule so I decided to give it a try. To my surprise I was actually glad I had a male massage therapist. He had very strong hands and therefore he had the strength to give a wonderful deep tissue massage. He did a great job of working out all of the knots in my back and relieving the stress that I was carrying in my shoulders. I used to wash dogs and the only relief I got from the back pain it caused was getting a massage from one of the talented ladies at Quiescence. Unfortunately I still have severe back pain some days and I can't afford to go as often as I used to, but the last time I was in they made sure to mention their 3 for $150 deal where you can save on each massage. This was my first professional massage and this will be the first and only place that I ever go to- I only wish I had started going sooner! I had the pleasure of having the owner Jacque work on me (full-body 60 mins.), as well as his wife Heidi (mini-facial). They were both welcoming, professional, and very well-trained to make you feel like a million bucks! As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by a wave of "calm," amazing zen smells, soft sounds, and a very sweet, clean space that put me right at ease. Not knowing what to expect, the staff were very personable and the massage went better than I had dreamed. Every knot in my back was released, my neck tension disappeared, I even slept better for at least a couple of weeks from the alignment I felt in my spine. Every inch of me felt like heaven and he knew exactly which spots to work on, (while I was still on the table I was already planning my next visit). My facial was equally as amazing, my face was radiant and softer than ever. They used great smelling organic products and scrubs that really made my skin glow. I have had several massages given by Jacques, I originally found him in Petaluma, location was hard to find, parking garage nearby. Spa is now located in Santa Rosa, owner is professional, accommodating, listens to what you want in the level of pressure of touch. Recently, I've had a lower back issue, been to a Chiropractor for several months, only getting moderate relief. I booked an appointment with Jacques, explained my situation, he gave me an hour & 1/2 massage added hot stones, left with no lower back pain! Five days have passed, still pain free. I decided to go to Quiescedence because the reviews for here were absolutely incredible. Plus their prices are so unbelievable compared to this area! When I walked in the door I was greeted by Heidi's husband who was so helpful and friendly. He offered me something to drink and a friendly smile. I took a seat for a few minutes while Heidi finished preparing for me to come in. She came out and greeted me with a smile and we went back to the room. She let me settle in and as I was doing so I realized, wow this place is so incredibly relaxing. The whole atmosphere was relaxing. The lighting, the decor, the warmth. Every little detail. Heidi has the hands of a god. I am telling she is incredible. I enjoyed every moment of my massage. I felt as if I was walking on air when I walked out. On top of that I didn't feel rushed at all. I was given time to ease into my massage, and slowly ease back out. Which is so refreshing. I was greeted out the door by Heidi and her hubby again who told me of an incredible deal they were having on massages (which I couldn't pass up). Needless to say this place is incredible.
