Zero stars. Terrible. Very small portions, veggies are all cabbage on 3 entrees. Chicken and beef portions a joke. Never again! Watered down yum yum. Lowest quality of meat imaginable. Close up! .

This spot is one of my local favorites, filling and tasty every single time! There's a bit of a wait on weekend evenings but that's a given for a decently priced meal and they FILL IT UP each time (in my experience). The staff is kind and always on top of that assembly line. I have noticed the sauce a bit more runny this time maybe a different batch then usual but still tasty. The added onions, seasame seeds, and sauce drizzled at the end really ties it all together. Their bento boxes are quite filling too! I love quickway!

Been coming here for years and I've never had a bad experience! It may not be the best hibachi but it most definitely is the best bang for your buck especially even with inflation my meal of beef and chicken is still around $10 bucks! The yum yum sauce has become watery over the years but besides that it's one of my reliable spots .

I am pretty sure they only gave me half a regular serving, hardly any meat, no veggies, sesame seeds or green onions after i asked for them

Crumbles of wasabi

I ordered food from this restaurant through Uber eats and it was horrible. I had the salmon and steak with rice and vegetables. The steak was burnt. The salmon was dry and fried rice, head big chunks of white rice and was hard. I also had some sushi which was not too bad. You could tell the cream cheese had been sitting because it was a little soft, and they barely gave you a quarter teaspoon of wasabi, literally crumbles and the ginger was almost fuchsia in color. I would expect a Japanese restaurant to have good sushi and fresh ingredients. I will never order from here again..

OK, so I like it. It's a great concept. Fast, cheap, and super convenient location on my way home from work. The portions are huge. The thing that I don't like is the quality. On multiple occasions the chicken has been extremely over cooked. It's impossible to cut with a fork. They drench it in sauce, which I am convinced is to help mask the burnt flavor. The beef is usually chewy. Not good. The fried rice is fine. I haven't tried the noodles. The real highlight here is the mixed vegetables. They are always cooked properly but bland so I recommend adding some of that yum-yum sauce for flavor. The customer service has always been great. They get you in and out pretty quick. There's not a lot of seating but it seems to be more of a take-out spot anyway. Food is served in styrofoam containers so if you don't finish at the restaurant, you can easily take home. Super convenient.

But why show up for the food if you can't even get a table!! But I was extremely disappointed with their reservation system. I had put in a request for a reservation more than 24 hrs before the intended time and while yes I never received a "confirmation" and on the email it does say "this is not a confirmation", however, I have never had such a poor reservation system experience with any other restaurant. I had shown up in to the restaurant in the bitter cold and paid for parking only to find that they never confirmed the reservation on their end. SMH. And was an hour wait....EXACTLY why I wanted to make a reservation to avoid all of this. Moral of the story, don't trust their reservation system, if you want a table.

I liked the addition of panko breadcrumbs for crunch, but I wish the imitation crab meat had been shredded more finely for better texture. For my entree, I ordered the Spicy Basil Crispy Duck (added $1 for Thai spicy). They definitely delivered on the spicy level, but the duck itself was not crispy. It came with rice and bell peppers and basil. The sushi tasted fresh, which was good. Service could use some improvement. We had to ask for small bowls for soy sauce, and when we requested a dessert menu to celebrate the birthday, we were told the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had given us a heads up before the kitchen closed. The ambiance is cozy. It almost feels like dining in someone's house. They had Halloween decorations up and murals of historic Frederick painted on the walls. They also have a private parking lot, which made it convenient. Overall, food was good, but a little more attentiveness from the staff would've made the experience even better.

Highly recommend getting the "Ring of Fire" -- it literally comes out on fire and tastes amazing. The fire ball one is served with a liquor that is lit on fire which is cool - but it leaves behind an off-putting taste afterwards. Poseidon was very good with shrimp and crab and served with spicy mayo. For my main entree - I got the pork tonkotsu ramen. Standard - it was good and it comes with a full egg rather than one half like many other places. Our server was very good and attentive. Overall a solid meal and a must-try if you're a fan of Asian cuisine.

Pork Belly: Although the pork itself was fatty and tender, and a bigger piece than we expected, although waaaaay too much cabbage and a little too sweet from the pineapple for my taste. Lazy Shack and Lazy Rainbow: LOVED these rolls! We were actually impressed by how fresh the fish was?? And the amount and texture of the rice was on point. Multiple tables next to us got the Lazy Rainbow so it seems like a popular one to get. We also appreciated the real crab that they used (although I may have gotten the smallest piece of shell in my Lazy Shack, but it was so good I didn't even care). Lazy Spaghetti: Basically like a massamun beef curry and spaghetti fusion. On the tad spicy side for me. Was really creamy and the sauce to spaghetti ratio was a little heavy (on the sauce side) that I wish there was more spaghetti to soak it up. Definitely would stick to the sushi here (although I'm a sucker for a sushi + hot dish combo). Would consider coming back to try some of their nigiris next time!

At one point my mouth was doing things I probably shouldn't describe in a public review. We did order for delivery, which disappointed us because it never showed up. BUT, i called the restaurant and it was ready for pick up. They quickly resolved that i had paid online and i was good to go at pick up. Easy peasy and with a smile. Okay, let's talk food! I will start with, the fish is impossibly fresh, the rolls are balanced perfectly, and every single piece feels like it was crafted with obsessive attention. No throwaway bites. No filler. Just straight-up sushi perfection. Here's the real kicker: we live part-time in Kauai, a place that technically has a slight advantage when it comes to seafood given its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, and Kyo still wins our hearts when it comes to sushi. That's saying something. So if you're looking for perfection in every bite, grab your person and get your ass over to Kyo. You will not be disappointed. Also, how cute are these sushi plates from my mom?! Mahalo Mom!

Only written a few reviews…read moreon Yelp in the last couple years, mainly because I understand every place has good and bad nights. However the treatment at Kyo Sushi last Friday was so bad I will be dealing with it for days to come while my bank sorts out all of the attempted charges. It seems in general the quality of service has declined at several local restaurants over the last few months, but Kyo went above, and beyond in bad service. The food was decent, but a problem happened with the payment. Apparently internet stopped working when they swiped my card, and looks like they tried to swipe it several times. Anyways enough for my bank to block the credit card due to suspected fraud. So the server comes back to the table, and tells me to pay in cash. Ok, so go to ATM, and find out my card has been blocked. She asks me for another card, and says if they overcharged the first one not to worry I can come back another day for a refund. At this point I don't want to give them another card to experiment with so they pass me a Venmo app for the nail salon next door. I decide to use my Cash App to try and pay it, but not surprisingly Cash App declines, and suspects fraud. So now I have two cards blocked, and the manager is looking at me on how am I going to fix this, and get her the money owed. Asks if any one in my party wants to give up their card to see if it works. They do not want to let us leave, but obviously the card reader and Venmo is not working. I finally grab the receipt, drive down to the bank pull cash out with my wife's card, and pay them. However my bank says there is now a hold on my account for at least 72 hours, and a new card will have to be issued to me because they suspect fraudulent charges. The bank recommended transferring all money out of the account until further notice. This could have been avoided had the restaurant not tried to swipe my card 10 times, and accepted the internet was down on their part. The worst part is this happened to several customers, but at no time did the restaurant tell new customers they could only accept cash. Have been to Kyo probably 30-40 times in the last two years since we moved to Urbana. We have been there enough the workers know our faces, but could not trust us to drive to a bank and pull money out to pay them. I really Kyo before, but will never return now. Thankfully Urbana is getting a new Sushi restaurant near Giant soon.

Decent broth flavor and good chew in the noodles, I personally prefer a hotter broth, but it comes out slighter warmer than room temp (not my fav, but still good). The Chashu is usually good most of the time, tender and not too chewy, there was a few times that it was meh, but most of the time it's good! The ramen, 3.5/5 The Izakaya part. The yakitori is lacking. The chicken thigh should be the most tender and flavorful but it was so dry (how can you mess up dark meat?) and lacked depth in flavor. Chicken 1.5/5 The US Wagyu is mediocre. You can tell that it's US cause it's tough. Sometimes it's tender and great and other times it's a bit tough. Steak 3/5 The sushi. Mhm, the sushi is so expensive a bit overpriced doe what you get, and I'm not sure if it's worth it. Their special rolls are ~ $20 range, but the size of the roll is about the same as their "standard rolls" seems not worth that premium price. Usually at most sushi places their special rolls are larger in size and makes it worth paying more for. Even their standard nirgri prices are double than most places. I have gotten a variety of rolls over the years and it's honestly just okay. Good sushi, but small and super overpriced. 3/5
