There are four amazing bike shops in Marquette but I would vote Sports Rack to be the best for many…read morereasons. It starts with the employees. Every one of the employees here are personable and knowledgeable about all types of biking. You can tell these people have true passion and are not here for the paycheck. They know all about their bikes, the technology that goes into them, different types of biking, and the trail systems in and around Marquette. Next, the bikes. They have everything from road, to mountain, to snow, to hybrids. I believe they have the best price ranges in town besides Downwind Sports. You can get a reasonably priced entry level, or a fully loaded beast that costs more than your car. Their bikes often go on sale too at certain times of the year or for certain events such as the Dome Show. Next, the service. I believe it is unparalleled in Marquette. If you buy a bike from SR, they will service small adjustments, for free, for life. It doesn't get better than that. If that doesn't convince you to buy here, I don't know what would! They have fast turn around on their repairs too. On more than one occasion I have brought in a monkeyed up bike after a ride and walked out with a fully healed bike without even leaving the store. They are truly dedicated to keeping keeping people on the trails with as little downtime as possible. I have full faith in Sports Rack Ltd, and I will never buy a bike anywhere else.

The staff was great-super helpful and chatted right along with how great these bikes are and how they compare with the Salsa Timberjacks (because I've been considering settling for the timberjack) but never tried to change my mind and even gave me a discount and great new pedals and a flasher to ward off cars. LOVE this place!!!

After moving here from the bike-friendliest spot in America (often tied for first with Portland,…read moreyes I know), I was yearning for a great trail to just ride; no cars, consistent surface and lots of scenery. The Iron Ore Heritage Trail (IOHT) does not disappoint. With equal parts of nature and history, it's a great destination for walkers, riders, joggers, kids and families. While not completely paved, the crushed aggregate is easily navigated on my city bike. I went out yesterday after a night of rain and the path was in great shape (surprise!). Folks in the area are very proud of this trail and rightfully so. It's beautiful and fun, a treasure for all ages to enjoy.

The trails (which are basically the old railways that were used to move ore to the kilns along the lake) are now used for recreation such as hiking and biking. Along Lake Superior it passes through many parks and beaches with amazing views. There are also places to eat, shop or have a drink along the trail (at least in Marquette). I have only been on the trails in Marquette, which is a small portion of the 47 miles, but according to the information available online or at most touristy spots, there are plenty on other sights, foods and history to take in along the rest of the trail. After a pretty extensive search just to find a tow truck that was willing to take me 120+ miles to the nearest HD dealership! I Called and spoke to Carrol Seger and she checked to make sure they had the fob then proceeded to tell me the shop wasn't open on Sunday but would call a technician to see if they could come in on Sunday to get me back on the road! Unfortunately I forgot the technicians name but between him and Carrol they got the job done Thankfully they did because we made it to our next destination on Sunday thanks to Bald Eagle Harley Davidson!

I called 3 local shops, all recommended Bald Eagle Harley-Davidson. The Service Manager, Tim, drove 90 minutes to come get the bike and me, knowing it would be after hours when we arrived back at Bald Eagle. He drove me to my hotel and assured me they would get it running well and I'd be able to rejoin the group. One of the women hung back with me and he also made sure that she was behind us. At 10:30am my bike was fixed. Adjusted clutch cable and spark plugs. They charged the battery too. EVERY single person working there was AWESOME. They picked me up from the hotel, even helped me put my rain gear on! HA! When I saw the bill, I was shocked. NO CHARGE for a 90 minute tow!!!! They all said, we know what it's like to be stranded. So I bought a pair of really nice gloves!! Thank you, Bald Eagle Harley-Davidson.
