We had a very large party (60) come in from out of state that we called a WEEK in advance for. One employee told us bill could be split the event room. Then when we called back to confirm, KD was horribly rude and advised that the entire bill would have to be paid by one person. She then recommended everyone make their own sep reservations during that time frame if we wanted sep checks and they would do their best to sit us near each other. So we canceled the party room and made reservations as she advised. When we arrived the day of the dinner we were met immediately with hostility and lack of any accommodation. The hostess and manager proceeded to berate multiple members of our party and told several of us that we "created a mess of a situation". They then proceeded to tell other people entering the restaurant (not part of our party) that we were the reason for the long wait times. Extremely unprofessional. We brought it a lot of business for the evening and were treated like absolute trash. This place has no business being in the "hospitality" industry. - they were aware of the amount of us coming in 4 days in advance of us arriving as all reservations were made via their booking system. - hostess and manager told multiple people in our party that it was my fault for not wanting to pay for all 60 of is on one card - hostesses refused twice to provide me the manager on duties name and refused to come out and talk to me. I waited 20 mins for her to come out. - the bar tender finally provided me the managers name

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must. They were large and charred to perfection on the outside grill, topped with parm and breadcrumbs. My friends ordered the filet and the gulf fish, and I had the charred cabbage entree, with a French gerwurztraminer blend. The mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce were so rich and delicious! Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. It's an honest, no BS creole inspired cuisine. 100% coming back soon!

And yet again, I am so thankful for Yelp steering me in the right direction yet again! A short Uber from the French Quarter brought us to what I believe is such a special hidden gem! The moment you step into Atchafalaya, you realize it. Ambience is amazing, quirky, cool, homey and cozy. Staff is amazing. We sat in our own private room and were treated to a very special delight of a dinner. I tried the incredible fried green tomatoes, the seafood soup (?) and the incredible steak...wow, everything was amazing. And not only did Chef Christopher Lynch come out to say hello to my Autistic son but the owner Tony Tocco did as well and it made his day! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We came for their happy hour and sat outside on their patio. Despite it being November, it was considered their Summer Happy Hour which is available daily from 4 pm to 6 pm. This is what our party of four ordered - oysters and all the house snacks: * Whipped Feta HH $10 - Toasted sourdough was quite enjoyable with the hot honey topped whipped feta. I may need to get more whipped feta in my life. * Marinated Olives HH $5 - Yummy collection of olives. * G & T Mussels $10 - Mussels were nicely cooked and the fried saltines a nice touch! Yum! * Ishmael Fries HH $5 - Crispy and light with an enjoyable aioli. * Shucker's Dozen Oysters HH $24 - We got two dozen of these. They came with mignonette, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and something else. So fresh! Not only was the food great, but the service was wonderful as well. Despite being outside, we never felt neglected and our server along with the rest of the staff were on it. At one point, our waiter had to go to the back to help shuck oysters to help with the demand. There was no lapse of service as the staff stepped up to support his absence. They worked amazingly as a team here and it was well noted. Pigeon and Whale was one of our most enjoyable happy hour oyster experiences in New Orleans!

The ambiance was nice, small space but beautifully decorated. I went with a large group so we decided to get a variety of appetizers: seafood dumpling, roasted cauliflower, ceviche, chargrilled mussels, and grilled octopus. All were good but the chargrilled mussels and the ceviche were my top picks. For my cocktail I had the lavender Negroni, this was a strong drink but very good if you like Negroni. I liked it so much I had to order another one. We decided to try taste the rainbow, which is a 1/2 oz taste of 10 Negronis. I highly recommend this if you like Negronis. For my entree I had the swordfish schnitzel, which was delicious. For dessert I had the lemon cheesecake, it was perfection. I would definitely come back to this place, my only complaint was that the service was slow, our wait staff were very nice but we had to tell them multiple times we were ready to place our order. Great location on Feret St.

CAJUN SEAFOOD!!! My…read moreoh my, does this place have my heart! They know how to get down right here. It was super close to where we were staying, and since I didn't catch a seafood boil in the Quarter or anywhere else in town, I had to try this spot. My friend and I had our eyes on it, but once our Uber driver confirmed it was a bomb spot, we were all in and it did not disappoint. I even met a lady who drives 45 minutes just to get here, so if she makes that trek, you know this is the spot. I will be dreaming of this place! Being takeout-only gave it that authentic, local vibe, and I loved every bite. Unlike the typical mixed seafood boils, they bag everything separately, and I mixed it all together once I got back to my place. They have some garlic butter you can add, and I got it spicy! It definitely had a kick, and I loved it. I had a pound of shrimp, added sausage, two boiled eggs, the BOMBEST potatoes and corn, all tossed with the spicy garlic butter and I devoured it. Let me just brag on that shrimp and those potatoes for a second: both were amazing. The potatoes were cooked to perfection! Soft, not mushy, and seasoned just right. And the shrimp? Wow. I can still taste it. If you're in NOLA, you have to check this spot out! I will say one more thing though I wish I had room to try the gumbo! I would have loved to taste it here. Lastly, I didn't get to grab a po' boy in town, so we came back the next morning to try one. Sadly, the seafood section wasn't ready yet (we went around 10:30am), but the roast beef po' boy with gravy, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and maybe few other ingredients in it was incredible. I loved it! You'll definitely catch me here again next time I'm in town. 10,000/10. Thank you, cooks! A few practical things: if you're driving, there's parking. The service was friendly, prices were great, and while there isn't indoor seating, the waiting area is decent-sized. Just know it can get busy!
