The first review that I made was really good and I like their service but after that service i had another car issue that popped up a month or two later and they would check out my car again. It got to the point where they were unable to fix my car but it kept trying to charge me for stuff that wasn't guaranteeing it to be fixed. This place was taken advantage of my kindness and they were having my car for a couple weeks but not doing anything with it. They charged me almost $900 just to change a spark plug. That makes no sense at all and it took a few hours just to do it. When I got my car back one time I found a cigarette butt too in the air filter. The fees that they have here are just ridiculous. I eventually just said that I just had enough my car because it's beyond repair and it was probably more cheaper in the long run to buy a new car than to keep giving Bartels my money for something that will never be fixed. My heart is broken because I really enjoyed coming here and I brought a few people over to give them a try. I will look elsewhere still for the time being for a new repair person for when my current car wants to throw in a towel.

Best part was the fact that they serviced my car within a week! Troy was helpful and friendly throughout the whole process and they even applied my AAA discount. Have a 2020 Camry and never had an issue with the under shield. Took it for a simple oil change…read morewhich they did fine. After driving home I heard something dragging and it was the shield by the oil filter. I brought it back, they said they must not have snapped it in all the way. I was understanding. They then used zip ties to put it back on. An hour later on another drive the shield was dragging again. I don't understand what was difficult about assuring the parts were back on correctly the first time but certainly no valid explanation for it to happen a second time the same day. Was my first and last time going there.

My exhaust starting getting loud. I come to find out that my exhaust had rusted NEAR the flex pipe…read morewhere it attached to the y-pipe. Honest-1 (the District Manager) tells me that there is a "hole IN my flex pipe" and that the y-pipe is in really bad condition. He tells me that instead of paying $637, I should replace the y-pipe as well because it's not going to last me and I should just pay the $700. He told me I should make an appointment to get it done asap. He kept asking me "how about tomorrow", "how about Thursday"... I asked him to show me the hold in my flex pipe, but he wouldn't. I wasn't feeling to good about this. When I walked in to Honest-1 Auto Care (Ogden and Eola in Aurora), I immediately got a bad vibe. Can't really place it, but my gut felt something wasn't right about this place. Now, I'm female and over 50....don't know too much about cars but my gut had a feeling that because, 1) they would NOT take me to look under my car when I asked them (when they had it up in the air) and 2) the jargon they started mumbling about, trying to confuse me, felt off. I attached a picture of the real problem with my car. DO. NOT. GO to Honest-1. Had I not had that gut feeling and went with them, I'd be out a whole lot of money. They should change the name of their damn business!!! Epilogue: I took my vehicle to a place in Lombard for an estimate on referral from a friend. This auto care that I went to in Lombard took me under my car and showed me exactly what was wrong. He told me that the flex pipe did NOT have a hole in it and it just needed welding. He also showed me the y-pipe, which was in great condition as well. It ended up costing me $180! Please, save yourself some money - do not go to them - and I know the name is attractive and all, but they were all about the money.

Great Service and Quality…read more Yorkville Midas is a very professional business with top notch quality service. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

They seem to be a quality auto repair shop. I take my cars here for oil changes and tire rotations…read more They have decent deals through the mail or Groupon. They are not known for their speed. If you are sitting a waiting for the oil change and tire rotation, it can take them an hour or longer to do even with an appointment scheduled. Fortunately Dunkin' Donuts is just a couple doors down. I am disappointed that they did not check and add air to my tires when they rotated them. They have added before but did not do it on this most recent time there.

I brought my car to Pep Boys on Kirk Rd in Aurora because the ABS light was on and I paid $162.90…read morefor a diagnostic. I was told the problem was the passenger-side wheel hub assembly and that replacing it would resolve the ABS issue. I declined the repair. I then had the wheel hub assembly replaced by another shop. They cleared the ABS codes, but the exact same code returned. The second shop determined that the right-front ABS wheel speed sensor is the actual cause of the problem. When I contacted Pep Boys, I was told there could have been more than one issue, including the sensor. However, that possibility was never explained to me during the original diagnosis. I was only told the wheel hub needed to be replaced to fix the problem. I understand the wheel hub may have had some wear, but I paid for a diagnostic to identify all cause of my ABS warning light. Replacing the recommended part did not resolve the issue, and Pep Boys has refused to refund the diagnostic fee or offer any assistance. I left disappointed because I expected the diagnostic to accurately identify the source of my ABS problem or, at the very least, for the company to tell me all possible causes for the light to be on. I was only given the expensive repair option. I submitted a claim and it was closed by the district manager without telling me. Very unprofessional.

My husband took our car in for a simple oil change. We didn't get our car back when we should have,…read moreso we called and asked what was going on. They said they had taken it out for a test drive to see if they could figure out a noise the car was making. Another hour and a half later, close to closing time, they called to tell us that while driving our car the 20 or so feet from their work bay to a parking spot, our car's ENGINE HAD SEIZED UP AND WAS NON-FUNCTIONAL. They tried to play it off like it wasn't their fault and said they'd "help us" by finding a used engine at a junkyard (of equal mileage, approx 77K) and installing it. Took them about a month to do so. They gave us a 6 month warranty on the "junkyard" engine and free oil changes. Needless to say, they screwed us. Our car now reads 88K miles EVERY time we check the mileage on a mechanics machine, our air conditioning was never charged on the new engine, our spark plugs are crap, and our alternator needs to be replaced. Basically, they managed to render our car useless/destroyed during a SIMPLE OIL CHANGE. Andrew, the manager, said he would "help us out"... the car is now worth nothing for a trade-in because of their BS. My husband is a nice guy who had recently been through a bypass operation, and Andrew and the owner took advantage of his being nice and not one to make a fuss. DO NOT TRUST this place, DO NOT patronize them! I don't know how they did it, but they seized up our engine and destroyed our vehicle without a real care in the world about what they had done. My husband and I BOTH FEEL USED AND ABUSED. We own the car, and now our property is basically useless for driving or a trade-in. An oil change at this Merlin might seem like a good deal, and cheaper than a dealership would charge, but it's NOT WORTH IT. If they screw up your car during a simple oil change and seize the engine, they WON'T "make it right". They'll "fix" it as cheaply as they can and leave you screwed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MERLIN AT ALL COSTS!!!
