Pay the pretty penny at a real mechanic shop and get a warranty for parts AND labour. In so many businesses in this Country of USA when you replace a part they give you a certain amount of time as a warranty. Then replace that part FREE of charge if it is defective (manufacturer defect) in Aqueels garage you will still pay. This is a greedy way to do business and sadly me or my family won't go back. I will drive 30 or 40+ minutes to a different mechanic who is slightly more expensive but Sadly aqueel will no longer be getting my money. Sorry ol chap!

Making it sound like it was on its way and never once saying it could be a day or so from this morning. So I called back late in the afternoon trying to find out why I haven't heard back and she told me I couldn't get it until tomorrow. I explained that my wife needs it for work tomorrow and why wasn't I told that. She then said she did tell me, which she did not. So after she hung up on me I called back and I asked to speak to her boss. He was no better than she was in rudeness and professionalism. Years ago, I had dealt with them before and now remember what she was like that time too. They may do great work there but I wouldn't know it but I'll tell you what with those attitudes I will never go back there nor recommend them to anyone I know. I have never been treated so poorly by people who want to continue to do business in this town. On day two sometime just after 11 AM the lady from the front desk called with the estimate and we decided not to have the work done, she was angry and upset. I said I was leaving to pick up the car and that's when they told me it was taken to a subcontractor and she'll call me when it's back. I tried to interject that I would go pick it up, but she made it sound like it was already on the way. I was working and lost track of time and it got to be around 5 PM and I called back and she said the car is not there yet and that it would be there tomorrow morning. I told her that was unacceptable, because she knew my wife needed it to see patients as a traveling nurse. She said, I told you I'll call you when it's here and hung up on me. She knew from that morning that my wife was a traveling nurse and had patients to see the next day and needed the car but that didn't matter to her. Day three of dealing with Rich Lucas of Lucas Automotive Specialties and his representative at the front desk. I arrived at 8 AM, and another man was trying to help me but when Rich walked in he said I was wasting his time because I was looking for the best price for the work I want it done to the car and that they don't do estimates unless the work is being done there. (I ask you, what is an estimate for if you're gonna have to have the work done there and you don't have a choice once you get the estimate? No one I've ever dealt with before after getting an estimate done has demanded that I have to work done by them because they did the estimate. That is utter foolishness. So not only is he a mean old man he has deceitful business practices any uses fear and intimidation to try to get you to cave in to his view of things. We weren't even told until day two the car was taken to someone else to have the estimate done.) I went there at 8 AM to pick up the car and was told by Rich Lucas I don't listen because they said they would call me and no one called me. I said I understand but we need the car and I'll go pick it up. Rich said angrily, we don't work that way now get the "F" out as he stood up and pointed at the door. I said you're withholding my vehicle from me out of spite because we didn't have the work done here and I don't owe you any money, I'm calling the police. After the police came, he finally said the car would be there at 9 AM. I went back home and picked up my wife so she could leave straight from there. We arrived at around 8:40 AM and by 8:55 AM her car was still not there. At this point she took mine to see her patient and I waited inside where I could continue to watch the parking lot entrance. At around 9:20 AM I saw out of the corner of my eye Rich get up from the front desk and go back into the shop and then a few minutes later he showed up in the parking lot out front with my wife's car. Rich Lucas made me wait an additional 20 minutes, past the time he said the car would be there, knowing he had the car in the back the whole time. When he finally showed up with the car he had come from his back lot of which there is no access, except through the front entrance of which I have been watching since 8:40 AM. This means he is a deceitful, spiteful, lying, cheat. That's just my opinion after dealing with him for three days. It's also my opinion, based on my personal observations that he had my car the entire time and he was just being mean and spiteful.

Brought my jeep in because I thought the shocks were bad and had a check engine light, I was told the issue was a module for the air suspension. I was quoted about 2k to fix. It wasn't super important to me but I planned on keeping the vehicle so I just did it. Immediately after picking up the vehicle the engine light went on again and it was the same code. They looked at it again and said now I need some other 2k part. I told them I would have NEVER spend 4k to fix this and basically got screwed out of 2k. Fast forward, because I did have some history with this place I assumed what happened may have been a fluke but I was extremely wrong. Brought the same vehicle in because I had a code for misfire in cylinder 5 and the engine had a tick sound. They inspected and told me it just needed plugs and coils. I have a voicemail from them specifically stating a tune up will definitely fix my issue and it was almost 1,100! I said go ahead and do the work. Before I even picked up my vehicle they called and said I still have a tick and they can inspect more of course with added fees. At this point I was very mad that they misdiagnosed AGAIN and still intended to charge me full price. I called a friend who is a mechanic in Michigan and called my local Jeep dealer and with only telling them I had a misfire they BOTH immediately told me it's because of the cam and rollers which is like a 7k job! I then did a very quick google search to verify this and it seems to be a very very common issue with this make and model. I was then told by the shop manager that John (the owner) told him if we were going to "act some kinda way" over this that he would remover the labor and only charge us for the parts and to never come back (still over $500 for nothing). We had no choice but to pay since the vehicle was held hostage until we paid. Needles to say I was NEVER planning to go back there and it's really disappointing how fast this shop went down hill and no longer stands behind their work.

During that thorough review conducted you left out that, the recommendation for replacing the ball bearing was casually mentioned at the end of the first oil change after buying the vehicle. After bringing it in a few weeks ago to have it checked, an invoice was pulled and used to determine the severity of the problem. The noise didn't exist on my prior visit so a reputation is built when quality work is conducted and responsibility is not saying, "It will be awhile before anything falls off". Well it wasn't awhile and the vehicle did skid several times and breakdown the next day. The discounts mentioned were only sought after my credit card was declined to pay for the rest of the full charge for repairs. If loyalty meant anything to you, then after six years as a customer I wouldn't expect to get the cold shoulder after hiking it back that Sunday evening to pick up my wife's car in the snow as my family sat and waited in the broke down vehicle. Followed by missing work on Monday, losing a day's pay while waiting for the vehicle to be towed, and spent all morning arranging for this to happen. That must be the Midas touch! read more

This location took all the information I gave them about what the dealer said needed to be fixed. Midas told me not EVERYTHING that the dealer told you needed to be done. My car is about 12 years old. So it was nice to get a bill that was half of what the dealer said. The Midas shop checked out my car with the dealer items in mind and also had their own evaluation! It was like getting a second opinion. The gentlemen who work there are on your level, never treat you like your stupid. They try to explain stuff as best they can to non-mechanical people, like me. LOL. When we picked up my car. My husband said to ask about wipers. They were about to close but the nice worker got the correct wipers and then installed them as my husband sat in the truck. How nice was that? As long as Midas at this location continues to be fair, honest, kind, with QUALITY WORK, I will continue to give them high ratings. I usually don't write reviews but I felt I needed to just in case someone will experience this too. We took our 2010 Cadillac SRX there to have it evaluated. The customer service was great no issues with professionalism etc. They diagnosed the problem which it was the flex pipe that needed to be replaced there was a whole in it. We were told the price would be 1800.00. At first, we said go ahead and repair it. We were thinking they had to change the entire exhaust system. Then we thought let's get a second opinion glad we did took it to another GMC certified mechanic shop, who told us the same thing and said it would be 180.00. I'm thinking did they get the numbers mixed up ??? but no they said 180.00 which was a hug Mark down from 1800.00. The point of this review is for anyone who goes there please get a second opinion and do comparative pricing before you let them work on your car. read more

If someone asks where they should take their car, I always reply "Midas". They have the best customer service I have ever experienced and are extremely fair. My car was making a strange noise and they said they could diagnose the problem for $25. After driving it around a bit and having a couple mechanics look it over, they could not deterine what was making the noise. I assumed I would still have to pay for their time, but Jeff told me that he didn't feel right charging me since he couldn't diagnose the issue. I was extremely impressed. Before this repair I had my Nissan Altima 2005 checked up for an engine light ON at the following places plus other two I will not mention because were recommended by well intended friends, whom know less than me about cars..Places like :Meineke on Ogden,Lumpp & Sons, Shell Gas Station at 63-rd and Maine,Shop at Ogden and Fairview corner,another shop on Ogden across from the Auto Zone,etc...all these mechanics did not recognise that my car had a starter problem !!!! I would strongly recommend you to thy this service before any other.Here you are treated will upmost respect by trusting,hard working mechanics. For my car I was asked to return after I gain 50 miles and get ready for emission testing,making sure this time around I pass it successfully.The fees were lower than previous,many, places.Thank you Shell Towing Service of westmont, you are a hidden treasure in this neighborghood!!

I had a good experience. I called AAA and they sent a tow right away! The driver was real nice…read moreand jump started my car and when I got in my engine light was on. So we towed it to Shell. The mechanic was real nice, found the problem, and explained everything patiently. He called me within the time frame he said it would take...same day. I felt they were honest and not trying to nickel and dime me.
