Unlike a lot of repairmen, these guys are really honest about whether they actually can repair your shoes - they won't just say they can and then let the job be done badly. If a repair is possible, Dr. Shoe will ensure it is done to a high standard. Not only will your shoes be repaired well, but they will also be returned to you all buffed and lovely. Dr. Shoe takes the extra time to give your shoes a bit of a pamper and ensure they are properly waterproofed and ready to be worn. As someone with a lot of suede shoes, this is a huge bonus and definitely makes me trust Dr. Shoe and its staff. Dr. Shoe also cut keys and can dye shoes, as well as selling inners, suede brushes and sprays, shoelaces and all other shoe related products. I've had a number of keys cut at Mister Minit and they're always really quick, but my family had a…read morebad experience with them when trying to get my 21st key engraved. My mum managed to track down the wooden key I wanted (the local gift store ordered it in for her) and took it to Mister Minit to get it engraved. An hour later, we came back for it and they told us that they'd actually damaged the key because the machine they used for it wasn't working correctly. My mum was quite annoyed by this and they promised to replace the key. She came back the next day and the key was in perfect condition, engraving complete. When my mum asked for the original key back since she had paid for it and never got to see the damage, they refused. Apparently the manager had taken the original key home because it was now their property. We'll never know how they managed to track down an identical key that was sold out through most South/East Auckland stores or if they just fixed the key they had, but they basically stole our property if their story is the truth. I even tried to contact Mister Minit through their website to complain and never heard back. Next time you're in Manukau, make the trip to Smart Services and avoid Mister Minit. This franchise is just terrible and they may be good at their job, but they're certainly anything but honest.

You can tell by the enormous shop that has everything from key chains to massive safes, and you can tell by the fact that they have several branches of the business including what I like to call the "oh shit I locked myself out" service. They do the whole lot - cars, keyless entry, padlocks, home automation systems, you name it. I really can't imagine why you'd go anywhere else for your security requirements. They're also nice blokes who (in my experience) don't act like sleazy tradies. It's sad but true that a lot of the traditionally "male" industries are still badly behaved but not so here.

I've had a couple of keys cut here, and the keys unlock my doors. That's really all I ask. The service was pretty quick (but I mean I've got no idea how long cutting a key should take, so who knows) and to get a key was only a few dollars which seems pretty good to me. If you wanted to buy a lock then the place immediately gets more interesting - they've got shelves and shelves of all different kinds of locks, far more than I can ever imagine using. But I assume for people who need these things, the difference between deadbolt A and deadbolt B is hugely critical.
