You should really update your damn website! Because I rode Bart from concord only to get all the way up here and find out you're not even open that you lost your lease

A one woman show, but definitely the spot if you're into fish & chips. So you basically order and come back in like 10 mins to pay and pick up your food because she makes the food fresh. The wait to order could take some time depending where she's at in her process and how many people ahead of you. But once you get your fried goodness, you won't regret it. I got the 3 way combo, and it hit the spot. The prawns were a bit small, the chicken wings were good, but the fried fish was what I was craving and it did not disappoint. Fries were great too! Not too many fried fish places around, but I'm glad this one is here.

Whaat! I've worked near this area for over a year and never knew this place existed. Can you say hole in the wall? It's such a tiny shop, that this place can easily be overlooked. Quick Bite excels at fried goodness. Everything here was fried perfectly and deliciously. I think its a dangerous thing that I have now discovered a place that serves fried food. I ordered the combo with my coworkers, used the $2 off coupon on orders greater than $12. I bought 2 combo, minus the $2 coupon, came out to be around $17. It came with about 3-4 fried chicken wings, 3 fried catfish, and cajun fries. A couple of our orders got messed up, so instead of fries, we got macaroni salad. Gross. Anyways, my coworkers were kind enough to share their fries. The best part of the meal would definitely have to be the catfish. The batter was unique and tasty, not too salty, and the fish was juicy and tasted fresh. It paired very well with the hot sauce. The chicken wings were okay, definitely need more hot sauce on those. The cajun fries were regular cajun fries. The macaroni salad wasn't good, I'm not a fan of macaroni salad in the first place. Definitely wanted more cajun fries. I recommend getting the cat fish! I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu, but I must take a step back from fried foods for now. The food coma will definitely hit you!

Good soul food style fried chicken wings in a tiny divey downtown Oakland storefront. Cooked to order and only 2 small tables so essentially a takeout spot. Red beans and rice was only ok. But the wings were tasty and seasoned properly. Next visit I will get to the catfish, oysters and other down home options that will irritate my personal primary care physician. JYW recommends.

Catfish was good, but oysters was nasty and tasted old. My fries looked like they were re-fried.

The old space is still under the same owners, almost the same food but maybe more concentrated on the Mexican fare. I'd call this a hipster pub. No table service, gotta order up front and food brought out. Can't start a tab so if you want multiple drinks or food items better order it all at once, or keep getting up to order and re-pay (which I dislike). If you sit at the bar top, they can run you a tab there. But it's usually pretty packed there. Beer n a Shot ($11/4*) the beer is a domestic lager (Miller Hi Life) and you can choose between 3 shots. I chose Fernet as I can use it post meal, while I have the beer with the meal. Don't love the beer but for the price ya just can't beat it. 6 Wings ($13/3.5*) Wings are a big focus on their menu. You can pick from lots of sauces/rubs; different quantities to fit your group/appetite; ranch or blue cheese; you can customize flats, drummies or mixed. They even asked how crisp we wanted the fry, which rarely is ever asked. I dug their thoroughness in the wing game. We chose basic buffalo sauce and I found it to be just average. Quite salty meaning it is mostly Franks Hot Sauce, I like ones that are more balanced with other ingredients. I did like their blue cheese dressing as they add a scoop of blue crumbles to the ramekin itself so it is very chunky which I like. Fish Taco ($5/4.5*) I chose a fried version but you can also get grilled fish. Perfectly fried strips of battered fish. Appropriate accouterments of shredded cabbage, cilantro and sour cream. 2 delicious pureed salsas come with as well that are requisite to use. Cobb Salad ($19/4.5*) Solid entree sized salad. Love how you pick between shrimp or chicken then grilled or fried. You will literally change the dynamics with each choice. The lettuce was fresh spring mix. Topped with crisp bacon bits, grape tomatoes, blue crumbles, avo slices, which is why I am fond of Cobb Salads. So many varying textures and flavors keeping things interesting. They use smaller shrimps but at least they have a nice meaty texture. They season it pretty aggressively and sear it on a hot flat top. Not sure if they cooked it next to some carne asada or if they use beef tallow to cook with, but my shrimp bites totally tasted like steak. I love surf n turf so this totally worked for me. Just don't know if it was deliberate or not. Nice add to the neighborhood and I'm sure I'll be back. Still want to try their nachos and possibly chicken n waffles. Good chance I could do both at the same time as not too often you can. Swoop in when ya can amirite!

So full of flavor and body. The oxtail was delicious. Not super tender, but that doesn't bother me since it's so delicious. The noodles were delicious as well. Perfect warm dish on a cold Oakland evening. I have also tried several different bang mi options. I think the pork ones are my favorite, but I would recommend any of them. The staff is also sooooo friendly. Last but not least is the sugar cane drink they make. This is not an easy thing to find, but something I highly recommend. Hot, crispy, and served with a side of sauce and some crispy pickles that were a nice touch. Place seemed clean and suitable for a quick bite, very much a fast food joint. Like fast food, the wait was less than ten minutes for a spicy chicken tender and medium spicy medium size loaded fries with chicken chunks. The spicy chicken tender was moist, tender, and the texture was even and had some chew and slight crunch. It was a decent size, but it wouldn't fill me up by itself. My nephew had asked for some spicy chicken, to have a little kick to it. But he said that the "Spicy" level chicken "felt like a kick to the groin". The medium chicken was also tasty, and I preferred it over the spicy one. These were a bit smaller, like the width of two nickels side by side. What really struck me as off were the fries themselves. They were salty, and they had sliced pickles and a dash of cheese and sauce--but they were practically naked. What the hell were they doing back there? Is it that hard to sprinkle more than a pinch of cheese, more than a drop of sauce? For the meal, $21 was expensive, and seemingly not worth it. Three stars.

You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet.
