I've gone before a couple years ago maybe two years ago my card wasn't working. I think the chip there was something wrong with it so the one that helped me, her name was MacKenzie Babbitt I felt like she was blaming me. The fact that my chip wasn't working she said she was gonna have to ask her boss if I can get a new card without them charging me which I thought was ridiculous considering the fact that the chip wasn't working was not my fault and I didn't understand why they couldn't just re-replace it anyways I don't know if she tried to scare me or what it was, but she came back saying that it was fine that they'll just give it to me for this one time anyways a couple years go by and I go about a week ago because my grandma passed away considering I was her caregiver on my income was going into Valley First and then obviously after she passed away I didn't have any more income anymore so they closed my card. Long story short I got McKenzie again again I felt blamed. I felt embarrassed. I felt like she judged me and she was so negative telling me that I would have to open up a whole new account if they even let me open it up I ended up leaving and told her I would go the next morning, but I ended up going to the Valley First downtown and I was helped by such an incredible person. I told her about my experience with McKenzie. She said she was absolutely so sorry about everything and that they should never make us feel that way because they're there to help us she helped me. She helped my mom she was so so different than MacKenzie MacKenzie should not be working in customer service maybe she needs to be trained, but I don't see how someone can be trained to be a nicer human being.

I went to Valley First on J Street 6 months ago to access my safe deposit box. After many attempts,…read morethe keys did not work. I was told that the manager was the only one who could help me and that she would call me the next day, even though it was early in the day. There was no urgency on their part and no apparent backup for this critical function. I had been through this before when a box that had been brought in did not function and needed to be drilled. Service has never seemed a priority here, but for a problem with a safe deposit box, Valley First clearly assigns no priority to customers. Of course, I did not hear back and worked around not having access. After 6 months, I called and asked to speak to the manager. She was out again and would maybe call me back in a day. When offered to leave a message for her, I suggested leaving the message for whoever she reports to in hopes that they may be able to help. Three days later and counting, no one at Valley First Credit Union found this problem important enough to give it attention...no access to a safe deposit box. This is not the right place to trust on any level.

I would give this bank 0 stars if it was a choice. I used to love this bank however I have just…read moreencountered a major problem with Valley First last week. I had a auto loan with valley firstI about 12years ago . I lost my job and had to do a voluntary repossession. I refinanced my house a few years after the voluntary repossession and part of that agreement I had to pay the balance that I owed to Valley First credit which was $5446.00. I also had a couple other debts owed to other creditors one of them was Midland Funding for $2646. Both myself and my new mortgage lender called Valley first to get the actual payoff on the account to release the lien on my property. The balance quoted to myself and my new lender was $5446.00. I asked them if this is the final number and I was assured that it was correct. Well my escrow company made a mistake and sent Valley First the $5446.00 the escrow company also sent the funds I owed to midland funding for $2636.00 for a total of $ 8082.00. The problem is that midland funding never got their money and I had no idea that this took place until 3 weeks ago when I refinanced my house again and the midland funding was still showing as a lien. So I called midland funding to verify if this was correct and it was. I then called the escrow company and they acknowledged their error and told me that Valley first should have sent me a refund check for the $2636.00. So last Monday I went to Valley first with all my evidence which included the $0.00 balance owed to valley first the statement also clearly shows that the balance prior to being paid off was $5446.00 which included all court and legal fees which are itemized on the balance sheet that I had gotten from Valley First. Well when I went down to the credit union I spoke to a wonderful lady named Heinke she looked up the account and said she had no idea where the $2646.00 had gone there was no notation that was placed on the account. She then sent this info to her supervisor which called me back later that Monday afternoon. The supervisor then began feeding me some BS that there were court and legal fees above and beyond me that added up to $2636.00. They were flat out ripping me off number 1 what are the odds that the difference was exactly to the penny in the amount of $2636.00. ? Number 2 how come the statement that I have from valley first says that I owed them the $5446.00 which also included court and legal fees already added in to the final number owed. The odds that these 2 numbers matched to the penny would make it easier to win the lottery. I also have the final closing statement from my new lender that clearly shows what I owed to each company and the check to valley first in the amount of $8082.00. The supervisor said she would call me back.!I waited till Thursday and no return call so I called called Heinke to see if they figured out where my money was and she said she had to email the supervisor to call me. You guessed it no call no nothing. So beware doing business with this bank. I hope they make it right and if they do I will apologize on yelp! Paul Smith life long resident of Modesto.

I cannot stand in line because of the set up. If a banking institution is going to be non-responsive to its customers? It should not be surprised by people going elsewhere.

Even more disappointed with MOCSE due to how their credit card/debit card system is managed…read more Today I went on line to purchase two VIP tickets to an upcoming concert. The MOCSE system stopped my transaction and I lost these choice seats while dealing with their verification system. If their programmers were so smart, why didn't they detect that these are about the 11th and 12th such buys we have made in the past 12 months? I ended up booking two less desirable seats due to MOCSE's low bandwidth system. But wait, there's more...Shortly after jumping through all of their hoops and calling and speaking to a staff member, i tried to purchase three tickets to a place we are visiting in Scotland in July ($84), and the system wouldn't allow it. Even their staffer helping, me clearing cache, restarting the computer, you name it nothing worked. The vendor's system indicated it was a bank not approving the sale (yes I have no balance and an good credit rating). Neither the CC or the DC would work for either the MOCSE employee or I. To be extra fair, she tried to help as best she could but to no avail. She asked me to call another person, who so far has not returned my call. (I have already spent almost an hour on the phone dealing with this.) But wait, there's more. A few years ago, their system MISSED a fraudulent charge I caught and had to bring to their attention. Hampering my transactions has caused me inconvenience several times before, this is the worst so far. It is time to reduce my banking institutions to my other two. Not worth the frustration, I only opened the account to be supportive of the CU and it was close to where we live. Simply not enough bandwidth for prime time, I recommend a NO on them.
