I want to start out by saying I've never posted a yelp review before but I feel compelled to do so now regarding quick auto repair. My experience just began this past Saturday and today, Tuesday has yet to be resolved. My son's car wouldn't start on Saturday evening so I called AAA because I thought it could be the battery but I honestly didn't know. The AAA driver showed up and tested the battery which tested fine which meant something else was wrong. Being a lone female I have no choice but to put my trust in someone else when it comes to car repair matters. After it was determined the battery was fine, the AAA tow driver started tinkering underneath the hood, banging some kind of tool against something around the engine and asking me multiple times to try and start the car. After banging around the engine for a few minutes and trying to start it, he tells me he doesn't know what the problem is (big surprise). At that point I realized that it was too late in the day to have the car towed to the dealer which is where I normally take the car for repairs. As I was talking through what my plan would be as far as calling AAA again on Monday morning for a tow to the dealer, the AAA tow guy tells me that he could take the car to the mechanic shop he is affiliated with and that it would make more sense for me to do this because he could tow it right then and there and come first thing Monday morning I would receive a call from a mechanic with whatever the problem is and a quote to fix it. Not thinking anything is wrong I agree because what he said made sense and seemed to me to be an easy solution and where I wouldn't have to be late for work on Monday. So Monday morning rolls around and I get a call I think from Mo the mechanic (it was hard to understand him clearly) around 10:00 am telling me that the problem is my starter and that it will cost me $475 to fix. I say OK and that I will be there after work to pay and pick up the car. I leave work and I'm on the freeway when I receive another phone call from Mo at 5:10 pm telling me he has bad news, he then tells me the problem isn't my starter but my engine is frozen and that I will need a whole new engine!!! I was floored to say the least, it went from needing a new starter at 10 am to needing a new engine at 5:10 pm. At this point I am so upset and starting to feel like I have been scammed, I feel like I was set up by the AAA tow driver to get me to Quick Auto Repair and now the mechanic, at this point I feel like I have no choice but to tow the car to the dealer which was my original plan on Saturday! I am headed over to Quick Auto Repair now to see if they plan on charging me the $475 for a starter they installed in the morning that they claimed hours later is not needed. I will post how this all ends after I go see them this morning, late for work after all!!!! read more
