Andre and Willie did an excellent job moving large pieces of furniture in our home. They were very respectful, efficient, and careful, always happy to do anything extra requested. They even moved three heavy, loaded shelving units across the room without anything falling off the shelves. My husband and I were happy with the customer service and the timeliness of scheduling our move date. DO NOT hire this company to move your stuff unless you don't mind them breaking it. They certainly do not live up to the name of their business. I had two televisions that needed to be moved. One was a 65 inch that I had just purchased recently and the other was a 46 inch that I had purchased back in 2012. Luckily for me the newer television survived the move but the older television (still in very good working condition and cosmetically flawless) was damaged. The screen had a crack in it and there was bubbling in other places on the screen that were not there before. We didn't discover the damage until well after the movers had left because they put the TV facing backward on a bench so we couldn't see the damage (shady). I took pictures and called QCM the following Monday (we moved on Friday). I was told they do not cover damages other than 60 cents per pound so if my TV weighed 100lbs, they would only give me $60 to replace it. I went back with the owner Adam Crans via email and he said the movers claimed the TV was secured and wasn't damaged by them. I sent him the pictures and then he came back with the movers said the bubbling looked like heat damage. From what heat? And how does that explain the crack? The owner asked for the model number of the TV and then said he would get back to me. He later came back with a "comparable" junk TV from Walmart that was $198 and said he would pay half of that. I told him to keep his money because it was a slap in the face and doesn't begin to cover replacing the much better quality TV they had broken. If you hire this company to move your stuff, you are doing so at your own risk!!!! They WILL NOT cover a loss with any meaningful amount of money that would make you whole again. They also DO NOT TELL YOU they won't cover a loss. It's just in the fine print "terms and conditions" that they like to point out you agreed to and signed. Don't use this place trust me you will thank me later. The owner adam doesn't care about customer service. He sent a sub company out to move us not his company. Because he's lazy and doesn't work. I was quoted 600 for 4 hours. And told to put 200 down which I did. When the crew showed up an hour late one guy was standing around not working at all slowing the whole process and at the end tried to charge us over 800 and said we didn't pay the deposit even though I showed the man the receip. After talking to adam the owner he agreed to give me 200 back but after discovering our 7000 sleep number bed was broken and demanded a refund he said hsee you in court wtf kind of business are you running when you screw people you know over. Yes this person was thought to have been a Friend. My experience definitely validated all the bad reviews. read more

I lost almost $500 because I had to leave the apartment on the move day and my apartment made me pay for each day until i found another moving company. True to their name they are indeed quick and careful. But they are also inexpensive, courteous and professional. I've hired them twice and have been very pleased with the results. They are limited in how many boxes they can take away when you're unpacking though. They do need to give their movers time to eat lunch though. We ended up feeding them ham sandwiches. We were very happy with the service we received and the guys were all very nice and courteous. Not only did they help with raw manual labor, but they made sure items were wrapped, secured and loaded even more carefully than we would have done. They were very reasonably priced and all arrived on time, got to work and did an excellent job. They were working their tails off. We could not have come close to getting this done in a day. We worked with Ben and Thomas on July 13 to help my daughter move to her new home in the Kalamazoo area. These guys were fantastic - hard workers, they worked fast, they were sensitive to the fact that they longer they took, the more it cost their customer. Very impressed with these young men! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of scheduling issue - which has nothing to do with Ben or Thomas. The night before our move, we were told we would have to adjust our moving time because they had some other jobs that got added into the schedule. That's not the best way to handle your business - scheduled jobs take priority. Beware! Hired this company to move my small 900 square foot home and a storage unit. They gave me a window of 12-5. I received a called telling me they had to cancel due to an emergency and didn't have a back up plan. Good thing I have a couple friends with pick up trucks. Office staff was relatively responsive and everyone was nice, but, for some reason, the movers showed up an hour after the latest part of the original time frame (although they did apologize and call ahead to notify that they would be late). Once they arrived, took over 9 hours to move our two bedroom apartment 20 minutes away, and our things were already packed in boxes and ready to go. Since they didn't arrive until after 3 PM, this meant that they were still unloading the truck after midnight, and at that point we just wanted our things off the truck and them gone, so they didn't even get our things to the correct rooms. The movers told us that they'd give us a "discount" since they said that part of the problem was that the light in their truck wasn't working, but turns out they're "discount" was just what it should have cost based on the ridiculous number of hours they took. We complained to the office the next day and they were nice and gave us a more substantial discount to bring it down to how much it should have cost if they would have gotten the job done in a reasonable amount of time. So, they might be careful (at least none of our stuff was damaged) but they were certainly not quick. Taking some $ off the final price does not hardly make up for the added stress and lack of sleep added to an already stressful and sleepless time in our lives. My wife and I could have moved everything ourselves in half the time. Would not recommend. read more

We used Quick and Careful Moving to load our U-pack trailer in Hudsonville on May 31st. We wanted professionals to properly load and pack the vehicle. Unfortunately, the young employees from Quick and Careful were unskilled in this job. Fragile items in boxes marked TOP LOAD ONLY were placed on the floor with heavy items stacked on top of them. As a result, many items were damaged. I contacted Quick and Careful numerous times to resolve this issue. I sent an email with pictures as requested by their office staff. After no response from Quick and Careful, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a formal complaint. We finally received a reply. Quick and Careful accepts no responsibility for the damage that occurred. They also did not address our concern that we were charged hundreds of dollars above the in home estimate provided. Our destroyed items, can not be replaced. We will not be compensated for the loss but I hope that someone else may learn from our mistake. Quick and Careful is not a reputable business. They do not stand behind their service. We have moved many times and this was the worst experience ever. read more

Could not be more pleased with the service from Quick & Careful. Friendly, fast, and professional. They made moving a grandmother clock look simple! And same for a clunky dresser and the heaviest, ugliest oak desk on the planet...sure saved me and my loved ones some aching muscles!!! Sean and Ryan were so accommodating with us as we added a second stop, and were eager to help me and my mom even with smaller items after they made quick work of the large pieces. Patient, hard-working, thorough and quick. They even assembled my bed for me, which was a task I wasn't looking forward to. It allowed me to start in on some unpacking while they tackled the assembly. Highly highly recommend. My mom will be requesting Sean and Ryan from Q&C when my folks do their big move later this spring...and I recommend this company to anyone I know! I'd hire them over and over again. We moved from Grand Rapids Michigan to Chicago on August 21st 2017. We were not fully ready when they arrived. Connor and I forget the other guys name were very understanding and nice. They did a lot of extra work helping us to finish packing. We und erstood that there would be extra charge for that but it was reasonable. Nothing was damaged in the move and they arrived at our new place ahead of us. I would recommend them. Others I looked at wanted a lot more money and you wouldn't get your things until 5 days later. This is hands down one of the best moving companies I have worked with. Compared to others in the area, they are the most affordable. Their staff was very friendly and professional. They completed my move very quickly and were careful with my merchandise. I had them load a POD for my family and they were able to arrange everything carefully so that it all fit well. I had the BEST experience end to end with Quick and Careful Movers. This was a high stress cross country move for me, and I needed a local GRR crew to unload a 28' truck into my new home. We received a call at 7:00 pm on a Friday evening to cancel a move scheduled the next Saturday morning. We explained that we had to move as we were at the end of a lease. We were told that nothing could be done. Even a call during business hours would have enabled us to contact other companies. By the time they cancelled, most other companies were closed. Gentlemen arrived at our home within time frame, and handled everything with care. They were polite and professional, even on a bad climate day in Michigan. Be very careful (no pun intended) when choosing this company! Last month we had booked Quick and Careful moving company to move from one home to another about 45 minutes away. We had confirmation on the date, time and cost. The day before (not even 16 hours before our scheduled move) they called and cancelled. They had a truck that broke down. We responded in a panic and said, what is your back up plan ? They had none, we asked can they rent another truck? They said no, I asked to speak to the owner, they said we can leave him a message that you would like to talk to him. I called back 3 times asking to speak to him and he never called back. We frantically called other companies who at that late notice were already booked. We ended up renting a truck from U-haul and doing it all ourselves! Crazy!! What kind of a moving company does that? I requested a move from a storage unit to a new home. I requested a 4 man crew and 2 trucks. The company brought a group over from Farmington Hills rather than using the local as they were overbooked in the area. The crew was nice and personable but seemed to be inexperienced in moving heavier pieces such as my washer. They didn't strap it and dropped it going up a step. Lifting my piano was scary as they used straps to lift but was VERY inexperienced using them but they made it. However after loading 250 plus boxes and 3 rooms of furniture, at the end of the day they were tired. My boxes were just put in the general areas, upside down and slid down the stairs rather than carried. I asked at the beginning of the day if they were putting together beds and tables and was told yes. At the end of the day, I was told they were doing it because they liked me and didn't normally do this. They didn't complete 3 tables and a bed so I was a bit upset since I didn't have any tools to complete this due to them being packed. In addition, I was told they wouldn't be cashing my checks until Monday so I didn't move funds until Sunday. The checks had been cashed plus they had added an additional $200 from my CC that wasn't approved. I've requested this funding back so we'll see. read more

A cardboard box of books was negligently left on the open front porch. It was raining all day! I didn't see the box due to patio chairs in front of it. The box was left, where the rain falls off the roof. Totally destroyed 26 collector books (2 no longer in print) soaking in rain when I found them. The Managers were rude when I reported the damages and sent photos of the damage, blamed me for not upgrading to the best insurance for replacement value. They said they are not liable for negligence or damages. They said my insurance was ,60 cents per pound damages. Plus my gas grill knocked over being removed from the truck, in yard. Broken hood. I've requested a claim form 4 times. They refuse to respond. They are all good, I'm sure, if no damages.. If there is damage, they will blame you, be rude and refuse to send you a claim form. They stated "send a request thru a small claims court"! I;ve contacted BBB and Fox 17 problem solvers. My son is also following up with an attorney. PS. I moved 90 miles. My estimate was $1,300.00. My bill was $1,700.+.00 I was not given a copy of the itemized bill. This has been requested multiple times also. The estimate was verbal, nothing was sent to me so far validate this, Estimate I was given over the phone of $1,300.00 or the final bill of $1,700.00...for a 2 bed house, less than 1,000 sq ft house, moving to a smaller house. They said I was charged for mileage, weight and State of MI regulates the cost. The move cost me $200.00 an hour and $800, in damages to books and a broken gas grill. Not recommended for industrial/commercial moves. After inspecting the premises to be moved twice to make sure they could handle the job, I was quoted $9500. After showing up with no equipment to speak of to do the job properly they had to use our pallet jacks (one of which they broke and offered no replacement). They completely broke multiple items and damaged others. One of the items was an antique piece of furniture that they were told specifically to be careful with. Due to their obvious lack of experience in moving an entire business they were unable to move certain pieces of equipment which forced me to hire another company at an additional $950 to handle it. Once it was finally finished, after many more hours than i was originally quoted, the bill came in at $12,000+. Almost $3000 more than I was quoted. They were then very rude and pushy calling multiple times a day to get the invoice paid. The invoice showed that payment was due in 30 days but they were calling for payment within 10. Unfortunately, my experience with this moving company was less than stellar. I was referred to Quick and Careful by a friend who raved about their services. I received price quotes from a few companies and Quick and Careful was $10 - $15 more per hour. Even though more expensive, I chose them because of the referral. The movers were on time on the day of the move and friendly throughout the process; however, after the move concluded the nightmare began. Multiple, expensive items items were broken in transit (a power leather reclining sofa, dining room table, large picture frame, two drawer cart, and wooden desk) and many items scratched (pictures, entertainment center, and end table). I was not made aware of the issues until I discovered them. Additionally, all of my moving boxes were labeled noting which room they should go in; however, most ended up in the basement stacked floor to ceiling. I chose a moving company and paid over $800 so that my costly and treasured items would not be damaged and boxes would be organized. Anyway, after numerous phone calls, service providers visiting my home on several occasions, and being tremendously inconvenienced, the major items were repaired by the company or repair person. I did not continue to press for the two drawer cart, picture frames, etc., to be replaced/repaired because I was so incredibly annoyed with all of the stress of relocating, settling in, and dealing with the aforementioned moving debacle.
