From the initial outreach to get pricing and availability, they were VERY responsive. I found their pricing to be competitive with some and very low compared to some of the other area companies. I was able to schedule a Saturday morning move time with little advance notice. On the morning of the move, Nate and Marquis showed up before 8:30, and after an initial walk through to see what they would be loading, got right to work. Both Nate and Marquis were respectful and professional in their interactions, as well as the handling of my belongings. They were also very efficient. They started at my apartment at 8:30 a.m. and were done unloading everything at my new house, about 3 miles away, at 10 a.m. 90 minutes to accomplish what would have taken me and my rag tag team of friends several hours and lots of sweat and swearing to do. Very disappointed with them. I recently used them to move, which was the third time using them. This experience was the worse of the three moves. They left stuff at my old house and were called back to pick items up. I still had to move things myself the next day I went back to clean. Items were damaged, not wrapped in padded blankets, secured properly in the back of the truck, boxes fell on other things in the truck, you name it. They complained about things being heavy, moved furniture and broke it, instead of using two people to lift it. I could go on and on. Needless to say. I will be looking to another moving company for my next move. It's pretty bad when the owner calls you to ask if you can help load things on the truck or if you can take extra things in your vehicle. Forgot this companies name and just found it in old text message. I originally hired Quick and careful moving and they NEVER showed up even after rescheduling twice. They are another story and I would never recommend them. They called Mach and asked if he could help me and my move that was supposed to take place on Saturday morning, 6-29-24, finally happened on Monday morning. So I sat in a house with nothing but filled boxes ready to move and thank God my couch and TV were still there so I could watch it. One of their movers was pretty professional and very polite the other one not so at all. when he got dirt and leaves all over inside my new place, his response was, hey man you got some bullshit that you're gonna have to clean up. After they left I did find two nicks in my walls and this was a brand new build that they gouged. I paid them, but was never given a receipt. The other company gave me the cell phone of Mach . After texting him and reaching out to him at least four times telling him I needed a receipt for tax purposes he NEVER responded. To come highly recommended and do business the way he did was just horrible. I would never use them or recommend them again. So if you have a choice, please look elsewhere. read more

I am very happy with the moving experience provided by Big Lake Movers! I had requested quotes from two other local moving companies who never even replied. Big Lake Movers answered promptly, had the date available I needed, and provided a quote right over the phone. I called back a few days before the move since I'm paranoid and wanted to make sure I was still on the schedule, and they were not at all put off by my checking. When scheduling the move I was asked a list of questions to help them schedule the movers and so they knew what to expect. Ours was a pretty easy move of just furniture and larger items. They will ask how many bedrooms, approximately how many boxes, and what types of larger items. Pretty straightforward. Their fee structure is very reasonable. We had 2 movers who came with a very large truck. They loaded everything quickly and easily. They also came prepared with a lot of moving blankets to protect items en route. They did not have shoe covers or plastic to cover the carpeting. I covered the stairs at our new house with moving paper, they put down moving blankets in the hallway, and kicked off shoes where the moving blankets did not cover. They were very respectful of keeping the carpets cleaned. The whole move took about 4 hours including transit time. They take credit card payments by phone as well, which makes the whole process very easy. Overall I am very happy with the whole experience, and would definitely recommend them to anyone moving locally. read more

Would like to give this company a minus rating. Pictures below are examples of damages. I cannot look at a piece of furniture they moved without seeing breakage, dents, multiple scratches and nicks. One item not in the pictures is a thick stone top to an antique chest that was broken in three pieces. How in the world could a moving company break a large, thick piece of stone? Mach and his team are wonderful. We hired them in 2018 to move from an apartment into our first home, and we also had them move furniture between family residences to furnish our place. They handled everything professionally and made our move so much less stressful. We were excited to hire them again this year before we start a big renovation. We needed to move furniture and belongings out of our house and into storage, family houses, and to Goodwill. They did everything involved with the move: arranged the storage unit, dropped things at Goodwill, packed and moved everything where it belonged. I highly recommend Big Lake Movers. Mach stopped over and after reviewing our move sent us a complete quote for our move. Their price was very good. On the day if the move our movers Nate and Bailey were right on time to our house and after a brief walkthrough they worked fast to load up all our belongings into their truck. They were very courteous and pleasant. Did I mention they were fast. When they got to the new place they were right back to work. It was great not having to lift a finger. They moved all our things in with ZERO damage. When the guys and us looked at our watches, after all was done, they had completed the move in two hours less time. I can't believe how unprofessional and clumsy they were with my furniture. It literally had me in tears. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They damaged my priceless antique table, my expensive headboard, and a worthless shelf but hid it all from me and tried to just leave! Who does that! My headboard is super expensive and had a giant piece of the corner knocked off and shoved back into place. The head board was also scratched to heck. My antique table had a huge gouge taken out of the top of it. When they were moving it I literally said please be careful with this it is irreplaceable, which was followed not 2 mins later by a *BANG*. I heard it hit. When it arrived at the new place I saw the giant gouge. I was devastated. The other piece they damaged was a cheap IKEA shelf which is not a big deal to me EXCEPT they tried to hide it and buried it under boxes. They put a giant hole in the shelves backing and put a bunch of packing tape across the hole and piled boxes in front of it so they could scoot out of there fast. Who does that? How dishonest! I called the owner devastated about my furniture and he offered to have it "repaired". He told me and I quote "I used this lady all the time!" ummmm how often do your movers damage customer's furniture!?!?! The lady that came to fix it did an okay job. Believe it or not she did a great job on my antique table but my headboard looks TERRIBLE! The corner is just glued on and the many scratches remain. I threw away the shelf it was beyond repair. I won't ever work with them again. SO dishonest and no care put into their work. Just sad! read more

Moving sucks. If you don't have a truck, you have to call around and try to borrower someone else's truck all day, which they never like. And then you have to find friends that are strong enough to help carry your couch in and out of two houses, and have the time during the day to do so. The entire process challenges even the best friendships and relationships. Drop my stuff, scratch it, or break it during the move, and we are over; I hold a grudge and I remember that grudge every time I see that huge knick on the coffee table. So in the interest of saving my friendship and my marriage, I got Big Lake Movers to move for me. I packed everything up the way I want it packed up (hastily and without property padding around glassware. But that's my own fault), and they came in like pros to do the big stuff. They wrapped up my large items like my chest of drawers in this huge cellophane wrapping and carefully yet speedily moved things out of the old place. Like Tetris masters they fit everything in the truck in one load. Finally, at my direction, they put everything in the correct room at the new place. All the movers were professional and courteous, yet speedy in getting in and out. Nothing was scratched and nothing was dropped. And my friends weren't resentful when I used their truck, or they had to spend their whole day carrying my tv and couch. I had a bad experience with this moving company. They moved things quickly, but totally gouged the walls on the way up and down of our brand new, freshly painted home. They did try to rectify this by trying to fix it, but it still looks horrible and there are spots that they left holes in. I called a professional to fix it, and he gave an estimate of $400 to fix this. All Big Lake Movers did was give us $100 back.
