I am writing this review for the location at 7345 Medical Center Drive location. I had to get blood drawn twice in a week and a half, and had the same technician, Berniece. I am a super "hard stick" and get brutalized EVERY time anyone needs blood from me. At least 2 - 3 sticks every time without exception! Berniece was quick, precise, and got it on the first draw (which is highly unusual!). I was hoping I would get her again on my second visit, and did! Again, she got it on the first draw. Both times, they were backed up and people were waiting in the hallway. They had been having some IT issues. Berniece was efficient, friendly, and fast! I am ONLY going to go to her for blood draws from now on! Even with all the patients backed up, she was keeping it together and working through the crowd. Someone give this girl a raise!

When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk for several minutes. When a staff member finally appeared, I was simply directed to use the kiosk, despite having questions that required assistance. During my visit, I also observed elderly and disabled patients who appeared to need help checking in, yet they were also directed to the kiosk with little to no assistance. After checking in, I waited approximately 20 minutes before being called. The employee who assisted me displayed some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered in a medical setting. Her tone was stern, dismissive, and unwelcoming from start to finish. I understand that drug testing requires specific procedures, but there is a significant difference between enforcing procedures and treating people with respect. Throughout the process, I felt as though I was being treated like a suspected criminal rather than a professional completing a routine employment requirement. Every instruction was delivered with an unnecessarily harsh tone, and the overall interaction left me feeling degraded and uncomfortable. Regardless of whether someone is taking a pre-employment screening, a court-ordered test, or any other medical test, patients deserve to be treated with dignity and basic courtesy. The entire experience felt cold, impersonal, and hostile. If I had a choice, I would not return to this location and would not recommend it to others. Unfortunately, this location was assigned by my employer. This was easily the worst experience I have had in a healthcare-related setting, and I hope Labcorp takes steps to improve both its customer service and patient experience.

Someone said the wait time was six hours, but we didn't stay long enough to find out. The waiting area was huge. There were about 14 people in that wait area. The staff was too busy to help someone in their hospital wheelchair go to the restroom. That's kind of shameful. (edit: I had to drive 20 minutes to the hospital to help this person get to the restroom so they wouldn't injury themselves further while holding it in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) We get to the restroom and a younger nurse was using the accessible stall on her phone. Idk if she was using it for the toilet, because she left a stack of toilet seat covers on the toilet for some reason. Confusing. Anyway... not great. The front desk associate took like 10 minutes to get a wheelchair. The parking area is also very small. People were making up new spaces at the ends of the rows and along the curb, blocking the handicap parking, which isn't located near the ER entrance. Under construction, too. Are they updating accessibility? I wonder.

Because they had a shift change so forget about the patients when this happens. After they have their shift change, their ER computer system goes down, REALLY! So while their system is down, can't get medication. How the hell does the computer system of an ER go down? I asked if they can transfer me to an ER that "works". I was. Serious. Most of the nurses just looked unhappy and didn't really care to help. My room was dirty, vials of something on the floor, they then gave me a dirty blanket at which point I was told, "It's just a stain" OMG. I bet you're sure as hell billing my insurance company thousands for your ill equipped staff and facility. Maybe now you can buy blankets with no stains. This ER should be shut down. The staff and facility are not at par to actually help people.

Its only appropriate these Drs offices have a lab nearby to draw blood and collect specimens. United West Lab is one of two labs that I know in the 7230-Medical Ctr Drive building. UWL is: -on 3rd floor -has a tiny, awkwardly shaped, black n white checkered wait area -Staff is chipper -Staff is not as fast as Quest diagnostics (that has 10x the flow of patients) located in the same building, 3 floors up. -Note: They DO answer their phone, unlike Quest. I called after closing time, surprised that they answered and were genuinely nice. For adults it looks the blood draws are fast with little to no wait. For little ones, on the other hand, they didn't have the proper tools to accomplish a simple blood draw for a potassium check. United West Lab must be associated with the hospital--West Hills Medical Center because they called them to ask what they needed to use on a baby and then ran over to pick up what they needed (a heel stick) to finish the job. Reason for a 3 star review-- our labwork that was stat (test done immediately) was not a good draw, needed a re-do, so we wasted an hour, yes an hour. Plus we needed to go to another lab and start over. And...they got blood on our new car seat :/ For adults this place be convenient but for the little shoot for Children's Lab in Encino, if your insurance allows it. They are experienced as they only draw from kids.

I've spent enough time in hospitals over the years to know that kindness can sometimes feel like a limited resource. Walking into West Hills Hospital, I honestly expected good medical care. What I didn't expect was to meet one of the most compassionate, respectful, and genuinely invested medical teams I've ever encountered. Dr. Namavar, the nurses, the social workers--every single person we met treated not only our family, but our loved one struggling with addiction, with a level of dignity and respect that frankly brought us to tears. Addiction carries so much stigma, yet not once did anyone make him feel like "just another addict." They saw a human being. That matters more than words can express. Our family had a very specific plan to safely transition him from the hospital directly into a rehabilitation facility. Every concern we had was heard. Every request was taken seriously. The team coordinated with the rehabilitation center, communicated with us every step of the way, and made sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Instead of making us feel like difficult family members, they made us feel like partners in his care. Then there was Dr. Namavar. I've met a lot of physicians. I've never met one quite like him. He sat down--not because he had to, but because he wanted to--and shared his own personal experiences with loss and drug overdoses. He wasn't reading from a script or giving a lecture. He was connecting with another human being. You could actually see the walls come down in the room. It was one of the most genuine moments I've ever witnessed between a physician and a patient. To the nurses: thank you for treating us like family. To the social workers: thank you for fighting just as hard for the next step as you did for the one we were in. To Dr. Namavar: thank you for reminding us that medicine is as much about the heart as it is about science. And finally... this is probably the weirdest compliment I've ever written, but if life ever decides to throw another medical emergency my way, I sincerely hope it has the courtesy to happen somewhere near West Hills Hospital. That's how much confidence you've given me. You didn't just care for a patient. You cared for an entire family. Thank you for giving us hope when we needed it most.

Nice but also I understand it's not always easy in that environment to be on top of new people coming in. I checked in, filled out my paperwork and expected to be sitting for a while since my appointment wasn't until 11:30am and I arrived close to 10:45am. To my surprise I was taken back early. John was the star of my day. He greeted me more prepared than I've ever had a scan tech be. He ran down everything that would happen but none of it was condescending and he respected my experience while still checking if I had questions or needed anything. Anything John said he would do he did right on time. No one forgot about anything they said they'd do, whether it was getting parking validation, being reminded to take medication or asking for water. I was offered more comforts without asking. I didn't get his name but the guy working with John helped care for the little things and made sure I had a pillow also propped under my arms so they wouldn't fall asleep while my scans were being done. No other imaging place ever offered that, and yes my arms would fall asleep. We chatted about clothing options for scans and he's the first person to have given suggestions and they were good. Back to John, he talked me through my scans and what to expect, which I always appreciate. He told me how long until I could move my head while the rest of my body got scanned. Scans make me nervous so I try to request time checks but places don't always do them when they say they will. I didn't ask John for time info, he just did them and came over to tell me and check I was ok and understood instead of just using an intercom. Nothing felt forced and I had never admitted to them I have a hard time staying still for so long in the machine. They just got it. Scans used to take me about 45min but they also have a new machine that did them (PET/CT) in under 20. The results here also take maybe a day or two to be sent to my oncologist vs a week or two from other places I've been. I drive from the Hollywood area to Northridge based on my Oncologist's suggestion and as much as I hate the drive and the cost of gas this is absolutely worth it. Big thank you to the whole Renaissance Imaging Center of Northridge for being so wonderful. What a difference it makes. Bonus points that when I called Marisela to make an appointment she actually called me back when I left a message. It sounds so basic but going through the Medical system so much getting calls back is not as common as it used to be so I was impressed.

After previously having a very negative experience there with an ultrasound technologist, Anete, I was honestly nervous about returning. During my ultrasound experience, I did not feel that Anete was trauma-informed. Her demeanor felt cold, detached, and lacking in compassion, and she came across to me as though she really did not want to be there. When you're already dealing with medical concerns and feeling vulnerable, the way you're treated matters tremendously. Then I met Fariba and Fariba was THE BEST! This was my first mammogram, and I couldn't have asked for a better person to walk me through it. Fariba was warm, polite, patient, compassionate, and incredibly respectful. She explained things, made me feel comfortable, and turned something I was nervous about into a genuinely positive experience. The contrast between my two experiences at the same facility was HUGE. Fariba demonstrated exactly what trauma-informed, compassionate patient care can look like. She made me feel like a person rather than just another appointment. Fariba, you redeemed this place for me! Give this woman a raise, an award, flowers... SOMETHING. for Fariba. Healthcare needs more people like her.
