No wonder this location already has so many negative reviews and a 2.3-star rating. This team is incredibly disorganized and shows no respect for people's time. I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment, arrived as scheduled, and somehow there were still five people ahead of me. No one explained the delay, no one gave an update, and having an appointment seemed to mean absolutely nothing. After waiting an hour, they finally called my name only to tell me I needed a new registration number. That should have been caught when I first checked in, but apparently no one bothered to verify it. So I had to start over with another registration number and sit down again for yet another long wait. To make matters worse, while patients were still sitting there with no communication and no clarity, the team went on lunch break. No notice, no effort to manage expectations, nothing. At that point, I had already been there for over two and a half hours for what was supposed to be a scheduled appointment. This was one of the most unprofessional and poorly managed LabCorp experiences I've had. If you can avoid this location, do.

Ever since I was a kid, I've been a pin cushion when it comes to getting blood drawn thanks to deep veins.

Well, it's 8:30am and I'm still here waiting to be seen! A 4-5 hour wait w/ an empty emergency room is INSANE! It took 5 hours for them to call me from the waiting room to get me a bed in the ER section. Then I had to wait another 7 hours for them to get me in a bed upstairs. I ended up being admitted. Whole 5 hrs I was waiting in the ER sitting area to be seen I had a blood clot in my lung. And the only reason the doctor ordered a CT scan was because I requested it once I got inside. ChatGPT told me I had a blood clot in my lung which is why I got out of bed at 3 am and went to the ER. I told the doctor I believed I had a blood clot and he said he didn't think so but would order the CT scan. And I was right. Once I was admitted they gave me blood thinners & monitored me over night. The next morning I asked to be discharged and you would've thought that I was a prisoner. The nurse was really evil and rude to me and said that no one can discharge me besides the doctor and he didn't say it was OK for me to leave yet. I felt like they were holding me against my will because they wanted to keep billing my insurance for the bed. I ended up having to message my Oncologist. I sent him an email stating that they weren't allowing me to leave the hospital. My Oncologist works that hospital and he came there to see me and told them to discharge me. He was upset and told them there's no reason why I should still be admitted. If my oncologist wouldn't have come up there, they weren't gonna let me go. So scary.

Its only appropriate these Drs offices have a lab nearby to draw blood and collect specimens. United West Lab is one of two labs that I know in the 7230-Medical Ctr Drive building. UWL is: -on 3rd floor -has a tiny, awkwardly shaped, black n white checkered wait area -Staff is chipper -Staff is not as fast as Quest diagnostics (that has 10x the flow of patients) located in the same building, 3 floors up. -Note: They DO answer their phone, unlike Quest. I called after closing time, surprised that they answered and were genuinely nice. For adults it looks the blood draws are fast with little to no wait. For little ones, on the other hand, they didn't have the proper tools to accomplish a simple blood draw for a potassium check. United West Lab must be associated with the hospital--West Hills Medical Center because they called them to ask what they needed to use on a baby and then ran over to pick up what they needed (a heel stick) to finish the job. Reason for a 3 star review-- our labwork that was stat (test done immediately) was not a good draw, needed a re-do, so we wasted an hour, yes an hour. Plus we needed to go to another lab and start over. And...they got blood on our new car seat :/ For adults this place be convenient but for the little shoot for Children's Lab in Encino, if your insurance allows it. They are experienced as they only draw from kids.

I've spent enough time in hospitals over the years to know that kindness can sometimes feel like a limited resource. Walking into West Hills Hospital, I honestly expected good medical care. What I didn't expect was to meet one of the most compassionate, respectful, and genuinely invested medical teams I've ever encountered. Dr. Namavar, the nurses, the social workers--every single person we met treated not only our family, but our loved one struggling with addiction, with a level of dignity and respect that frankly brought us to tears. Addiction carries so much stigma, yet not once did anyone make him feel like "just another addict." They saw a human being. That matters more than words can express. Our family had a very specific plan to safely transition him from the hospital directly into a rehabilitation facility. Every concern we had was heard. Every request was taken seriously. The team coordinated with the rehabilitation center, communicated with us every step of the way, and made sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Instead of making us feel like difficult family members, they made us feel like partners in his care. Then there was Dr. Namavar. I've met a lot of physicians. I've never met one quite like him. He sat down--not because he had to, but because he wanted to--and shared his own personal experiences with loss and drug overdoses. He wasn't reading from a script or giving a lecture. He was connecting with another human being. You could actually see the walls come down in the room. It was one of the most genuine moments I've ever witnessed between a physician and a patient. To the nurses: thank you for treating us like family. To the social workers: thank you for fighting just as hard for the next step as you did for the one we were in. To Dr. Namavar: thank you for reminding us that medicine is as much about the heart as it is about science. And finally... this is probably the weirdest compliment I've ever written, but if life ever decides to throw another medical emergency my way, I sincerely hope it has the courtesy to happen somewhere near West Hills Hospital. That's how much confidence you've given me. You didn't just care for a patient. You cared for an entire family. Thank you for giving us hope when we needed it most.
