I had a very unpleasant experience, the person working there was very rude, and lacking basic human manners

First of all the doctors and nurses here I see are always fantastic. I didn't even want to go here,…read morebut my doctor said with all my recent issues I should make sure I don't have an infection and she's booked till november in-person. Once again drs and nurses were great, I just wanted a yes no and left. I've been here a handful of times before for different issues, I'm actually a stroke survivor and have multiple disabilities. I have a very low quality of life and my good days are a rarity. I had to *wait* 3 months till I was okay enough to go in, which happened to be today. I felt very uncomfortable with the way the staff in the waiting room phrased "WHY are you on medicare?" Please teach your staff to please not word things like that, it felt unprofessional and concerning. I didn't want to go off on a tangent of all my medical history, disabilities, or for me to say I'm disabled and for them to go you don't LOOK disabled. It felt like one of those you know? And an urgent care is the last place that should be doing stuff like that. It was worse when they didn't even let me answer immediately and guessed and said did you have an emergency at work? Old people aren't the only ones on medicare...and if you don't want to use medicare use my masshealth. :/ I have severe anxiety on top of conditions that spike with stress, and out of all my problems I was just like "I have a bladder disease." bc it's one of my worst ones, the severity level both pain and symptoms gets extreme and i have a very rare subtype of the disease. And after saying that I felt embarrassed for mentioning something so personal. But saying "I'm a stroke survivor with ------" long list of conditions that fluctuate, It was just....odd. I felt like I was being looked down on, and maybe that is my anxiety. But it was still super uncomfortable. Would've felt better if they said 'ah the system is asking WHY you are on this insurance" but even still that's strange? If it's not working just have me contact my insurance and speak privately...it just felt so personal and a weird thing to ask someone who's just going in to be checked for something.

On Friday 4/10 I went to CCH urgent care instead of CCH ER to avoid incredibly high bill at the…read morehospital. My primary doc is off cape. I wanted a blood test for tick bite. The doctor came by for 5 mins, saying stomach pain isn't lymes but he would order the test All they did was take my temp and blood pressure - they said after 5:30 they don't take blood and sent me to CCH hospital lab for the test. When no results were showing up on CC mychart I had to call the following Monday and the guy at front desk said they don't follow-up the blood work. The doctors rotate. He gave me a ousy medical records number at the hospital which went to a recording. The bill was $664.50 for basically nothing. $664.50 is high for no follow-up go screw yourself care. Some of us aren't on Medicare and this is out of pocket. I will never go back. The place was empty is can see why. Complete rip off just like the hospital

The worst ER I have ever been to. I went here in September for severe stomach pain and the staff…read morewas extremely rude. First off, they would not confirm if they were within my insurance network or not, even though I asked multiple times, and they were being extremely deceptive about it and wouldn't give me a direct answer. Since the staff was so incompetent and couldn't figure out how to look my insurance up, I ended up having to find out myself which is not something you want to be doing when you're having an emergency. The did all of these labs and tests on me just to tell me they couldn't find anything wrong and sent me home. Such a waste of my time and money for literally no help or answers as to what was wrong. Flash forward to October and they send me a MASSIVE $1,500 bill. I've called several times to try and negotiate but they won't do it, even after I've offered to pay $1,000 today. Same experience as I got in person -- extremely rude, unhappy staff. I would recommend going anywhere else but here because they'll rack up a massive bill just to tell you they don't know what is wrong with you.

11/19/2020…read more Complaint: Cape Cod Health Care (CCHC) I'm posting this complaint here because I cannot secure an email for anyone in an executive position at CCHC. They evidently choose to be inaccessible to their patients/ clients. I've been a patient of CCHC, formerly Emerald Physicians, for 7+ years. As they've grown, their administrative systems and patient facing customer service has steadily deteriorated. Inability to reach functioning human beings by phone is the norm. When I have spoken to someone, follow-up has been less than poor, messages go unanswered and confusion is the accepted standard for this company. My frustration with CCHC has steadily increased, culminating with today's events. I had a scheduled appointment with my PCP this morning. This appointment was scheduled at my last appointment one year ago. A confirmation phone call from CCHC for this appointment was made last week, wherein I responded in the affirmative. Upon arrival (after my 30 minute drive from home) the receptionist told me I wasn't in their system! I explained my history with CCHC and her told of the confirmatory phone call a week ago. After a few minutes she said she did find me in the system but I did not have an appointment. I pressed my case, trying to remain composed, to no avail. She apologized, explained that their computer system was newly updated, and offered to make another appointment for me. I declined and insisted that my PCP, who was on site, call me as soon as possible. Steam was coming from my ears! The PCP did call about twenty minutes later while I was still driving home. He was sincerely apologetic, and offered that the entire CCHC system was having problems with many complaints similar to mine coming in regularly. He went on to explain that the COVID pandemic was causing staffing shortages and schedules (appointments) were being altered. That my appointment had been canceled. Fine. But no notification to me of the cancellation? Unacceptable! He agreed and continued to apologize. What can I say? I'm looking for another health care provider. Problem is, on Cape Cod, CCHC is pretty much the only game in town They know that and, evidently, don't care that their patients are being subjected to woefully inferior services. I guess this is what the future of healthcare in America is going to be. I'm signing with my initials and DOB. If CCHC sees this and wants to respond directly to me, they can track me down. Frustrated in Barnstable. FPN 4/2/49
