Just wanted to report that I had a very positive experience with Quest this morning when I had to have a fasting blood draw done. Got there by 7:20 and was third in line. Heidi opened the door at 7:30, by which time there were seven hungry and uncaffeinated people quietly waiting in line. Quest's efficient and friendly processing of people and paperwork meant I was out of there before 8:00. HEIDI is an awesome phlebotomist and I was lucky to get her this morning! I do recommend that you arrive before 7:30 if you want a shorter time in the waiting room. read more

Very slow. Allow about twice the normal time for a routine blood draw. I have had to leave twice without service due to them being so slow.

Worst place ever! Walked in at 3:50pm, I was the only patient in the waiting room, lab tech took my paperwork and told me she would be ready for me in a few minutes. After waiting another 5 minutes I was told that she was supposed to have picked up her daughter 15 minutes ago and that they were closing the office early (over a half hour early). Not very convenient when you arrange childcare to get blood work done and they just to decide to do things are their own schedule. Very upset, will not be returning. THE WORST OF THE WORST. The Quest Diagnostics website is absolutely the worst of the worst, and Quest's customer service is non-existent. It is obvious that Quest does not care about its customers/patients. Forget trying to contact Quest by telephone--that is, unless you want to pay a bill. Quest does not provide any customer service phone numbers. I had routine tests done on 10/18/2018, and I have been unable to get the results. This is the absolute worst lab I've ever encountered. Came to get blood work, with an appointment, still waited 45 mins. Then they did not even run the correct blood work on the lab order, had to come back a second time. The front desk staff is rude and unorganized. Definitely won't be using this location, or Quest, ever again. read more

I made an appointment and was seen within 10 minutes of arrival time. The first time I went, 2 different lab workers couldn't get the needle in and I had to leave as they would only try 3 time. I guess if you had the perfect vein, they would have been adequate. Those gals get a 1 star. I wouldn't go back if I got them. I get a weekly intravenous IV, those techs have no issue getting into my vein. I came back, no appointment, the next day and was seen quickly. I was seen by a new technician, Rocio. The 5 stars are for her. She felt my vein, went in so cleanly and easily, is was astonishing how good she was, I didn't even feel her going in with the needle unlike the other 2 gals who hurt and bruised me. Rocio felt bad that she was not working on the first day I came in as when the other gals can't find the veins, they call her in. My suggestion when making an appointment, is to ask who is the best blood drawer at the office and ask for them only. Some of these offices had inexperienced blood drawers. read more

Horrible customer service. I checked in and the lady at the front actually disappeared for 20 minutes! No hello, eye contact or anything. I'm sitting here and the place has run out of seats. People have actually given up and have walked out of the place. Do NOT come here if you would like to have a normal 15-20 minute appt. I call ahead specifically to get their hours, make sure they don't close at lunch time, and make an appointment. I make the appointment through a different phone number they gave me for 12:15pm. I take my lunch hour to get over there to see a note on the door saying they are closed from 12:00-1:00 due to being short staffed. I knock...no answer. I call twice while standing outside, no answer. I look in through the window and see a patient AND a receptionist. Typical crappy service from the lab that has a monopoly in the area. read more

This is the worst f***** place I have EVER been to, to get my blood drawn. Seriously the absolute worst. First off slow even when you have an appointment, second the staff is incredibly rude and couldn't give a crap about the patients that come in! They wanted me to wait 30-45 min to drop off a test that was for DROP OFF. I'm not going to sit and wait around I'm not even getting my blood drawn, why should I have to wait 30-45 min for a drop off!? Absolutely absurd. Went in to get a test done today at 2:00pm. There was three women working. I got helped immediately. Very friendly and nice. Only problem I ran into was that my doctor had not faxed over the info so not their fault. Other than that was in and out. I saw a sign that said you can go on Questdiagnotstics.com or call to set up an appointment first if wait time is an issue. But my experience was quick even without an appointment. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 1:30, just a few hours prior and was able to get in without any wait. Christina drew my blood and she was friendly, fast and made it painless. My experience at Quest Diagnostics wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. I was pleased to be in and out of there in 30 minutes. I made an online appointment, which I recommend doing or you will most likely be waiting a while. The ladies who are at the front desk are not particularly friendly, which does not help with the overall experience of getting blood drawn. The tv was loudly playing in the background which I did not enjoy either. The lady who drew my blood was acting very anxious and flustered, which did not make me feel comfortable knowing she would be sticking a needle in my arm. She then proceeded to ask if I was there for a drug screening. That was very odd. I have never done drugs in my life and was actually quite insulted that she said that, especially in front of a room filled with people. I honestly think that she was overwhelmed and was not educated on how to properly interact with clients. I asked her some questions regarding my blood test and she did not know the answers, which was concerning. I was unhappy with the customer service, but I was very pleased that it did not hurt when she drew my blood- and that is the only reason why I am giving 3 stars. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. Went in for pre employment test. First off the staff was incredibly incompetent in what they do but didn't even acknowledge I walked in. My 5 minute wait time per the screen turned into a hour with still no communication with staff. Finally I confronted the counter only to find no one in sight. The waiting room at this point is completely full and the entire room was complaining while the incompetent employees moved as slow as possible and remained rude. Find another lab! I took my daughter after a Dr's appointment to get her labs done. She had been fasting all night and morning. We waited for over an hour and literally saw only on person go in and one person go out. I have no idea what they were doing, but it wasn't enough! This location is Awesome! Make an appointment online first if you can though, as it always seems busy. The staff work efficiently and accurately. I have had several lovely experiences with Christina and Koslyn over the last few months. Those are two very special ladies. Make sure you bring your insurance card since it is required for every visit and drink lots of water (they said it helps keep you hydrated). I am greeted warmly and with a sense of courteous urgency at each visit. I know people get impatient and post bad reviews but I always have a wonderful experience. Think some people just need to calm down. Not everything is instantaneous. Remember, if they make a mistake because you are rushing them it will be you that must return to get poked again. Be Patient. They do the best they can even with the impatience they have to tolerate. Avoid the gargantuan named Kathleen. read more

Please do not waste your time at this location. I came in for a simple drug test and they told me they were not trained to do this particular test. I waited patiently in the waiting room for 30 minutes before they informed me that it may be "too late" to do my test because they were closing. They also warned me that if I was unable to urinate right away, they were CLOSING at 4:30 and would have to wait after hours until I was able to go if they decided to see me. They decided to take me back. I took all of my belongings out of my pocket. As the tech pulled up my file, she warned me again that if I'm not able "to go", we were wasting our time. I did know what I was coming for so I was prepared. As I stood there, reading all of the signs that she CLEARLY didn't want to perform my drug test, she finally told me she "wasn't trained to do my I-Cup drug test". I turned away and walked out, without any invite to come back another day or work with a knowledgable technician. read more

I have been using Quest in Monterey for years, and it has always been a good experience - until July 2, 2015. On that day, after a rather long wait, a woman finally appeared behind the counter. I never saw her there before. She was wearing regular street clothes, so, I had no idea who she was. She was abrupt and pretty rude when talking to me. Much later, she put on a blue gown and told me to go to room 2. After she struggled for about 14 min. with entering my information into the computer there, she grabbed the equipment without sanitizing her hands in any way. I said politely: "I have a little request: Could you please wash your hands with soap before drawing blood?" She got extremely mad and barked: "I washed my hands before, so, I'm going to use this", put a drop of hand sanitizer on her hand and grabbed the equipment again. Her whole manner was so rude and aggressive that I became afraid of this brute and what she would do to my veins with her dirty hands and her temper. I said: "I have been coming here for many years and usually have my blood drawn by another phlebotomist over there, whom I know well. So, if you don't mind, I would rather follow this tradition today..." She got even madder and started yelling: "Which one?! Why didn't you tell me before?! Which one?!" I said: "This lady over there". This savage of a woman started shouting even louder and looked very threatening, as if she were about to hit me: "I have the right to refuse service to you!!! Go away from here!!!" I approached another receptionist and asked to speak with the supervisor. The receptionist said that the supervisor was not there. I asked her to write the supervisor's name and telephone number for me, as well as the rude employee's name, which she did. I also asked for the Comments / Complaints book, but she said they don't have such a book. Meanwhile, the brute (whose name turned out to be SABRINA C.) kept yelling and yelling right there, behind the counter and for all the patients to hear and witness the ugly scene. After the other phlebotomist performed my blood test and gave instructions to me for a urine test, I left the place. I don't know how this savage and brute, with a mouth as big as the Pacific ocean, could be allowed to do any job, let alone to draw patients' blood! This employee does NOT deserve any stars in my review, or, rather, deserves many stars with a minus sign. The reason you see one star is, this website doesn't allow a no-star rating. read more

After Yelping my bad experience at the Pacific Grove branch, I made an appointment for this office. I'll preface my three stars by saying there is Zero stars for the fact I got turned away, yesterday, at 4:15pm. Their office hours says open until 4:30. I was told I have to get there by 4pm. I called corporate and got the number for the district manager. She apologized and said that I should not have been turned away. So, I arrived WITH an appointment and the same person greeted me. Whether she remembered me, I don't know. I decided to stay quiet and she was pretty nice, I have to say. In fact, she got friendly and I actually relaxed and was out in 20 minutes. I decided not to say anything to her. Let the district manager say something, if she ever really does. Lesson learned-- you must have an appointment, or you will be frustrated. This place isn't a one man/woman operation like the one in Pacific Grove, so I'll come here from now on. read more

Went in Yesterday for routine test lobby was over crowded employees were standing around behind the counter and nothing was getting done, I also suffer from PTSD and became very uncomfortable in the lobby with so many ppl crowded in such a small waiting room. So I decided to leave and call as I'm leaving to make an appointment to avoid this whole situation and Cathleen answers SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND INSENSITIVE TO MY CONCERNS AND CONDITION I WONT BE COMING INTO QUEST MONTEREY ANY TIME SOON OR RECOMMENDING THEM EITHER....if you resort the reviews by date you get a good idea of the quality of work here.. read more

I will not be returning to this lab. I went in for some important testing that required fasting in August. I did not hear anything back from my doctor, so I assumed everything was ok. In fact, Quest never got the results to them, and I only found out when another doctor associated with the ordering doctor noticed that it had been ordered. So I went to the lab and asked about the results, and directed to call a number out of state. The first attempt the woman hung up on me because I was not satisfied with her answer that the results were sent electronically--I saw my records at the doctor's office and they are not there. I called back, this time being told that I was in the wrong department, and I had to speak to a supervisor in another department. So after being transferred, I was greeted by voicemail. Still no response, no lab results. My insurance will not pay for these to be done again, because not enough time has elapsed. This service is terrible. Plus the lab technician at the lab where I tried to get some help with this, was abrupt, looked dissolved and dirty, had a red complexion that reminds me of an alcoholic complexion. I will go to the hospital and pay more than have my time wasted and my health put at risk. read more

The lady who actually took my blood did a very good job. Quick, pain free, and got my vein on the first try. The problem is the administration. I signed in and waited for someone to come to the desk. When someone did come to the desk, I tried to hand her my paperwork but she told me to sit down and wait my turn. There were 4 people ahead of me, but for the first 25 minutes I was there, no one got called back. While waiting, the very small waiting room filled up with at least a dozen people. There were only two people doing blood draws; they clearly needed more staff since this location is the only one open on Saturday. After waiting for approximately 40 minutes, I found out the tech should have given me my glucose drink when I arrived so that when she called me it would be time for my draw. The woman who refused to look at my paperwork when I came in berated me for not telling her I was doing a glucose test and needed the drink. They really knew how to make a fasting pregnant woman irate. I had a much easier time at the Marina location. read more

I took my daughter here today and long story short, the male staff member, I wish I had caught his name, worked a minor miracle to get my daughter the blood tests she needed at the exact time she needed. I know it wasn't easy, it really wasn't but he did it. I would give this lab 10 stars if I could. And he was kind, professional and cracking jokes which really helped. Fantastic! This is not a negative review of the office in Monterey, or of the medical care provided. This is a customer service / billing issue that has turned me off from ever using Quest again. Nothing like being 9 months pregnant and dealing with asinine issues like this on the phone....here is the complaint I just emailed the company: I am now writing to file a complaint. Twice now I have contacted customer service through this message system and have not received any response, so my sending this message is probably an exercise in futility. My complaint is actually directed at the billing system and the asinine conversation I just had on the phone with a representative. First of all, this website will not let me view ANY information about my invoice, but certainly lets me make payments to it, hence the reason for my past two messages. Secondly, in the month of August, I attempted to make a payment on the 19th of the month, but the online billing system kept rejecting my invoice number. I tried again on the 31st of August, so that I could make my August payment. This time was successful, and I received a payment confirmation. The payment posted to my bank account on Sept 3rd. I have since made one other payment on the 23rd of September. Then today I received a notice in the mail that my bill has been sent to collections due to not receiving an August payment. When I called the number on Quest's invoice, it dialed me straight to a collections company, who couldn't help me since my problem was with Quest itself, they just wanted me to make them a payment. I didn't. Instead, I tried Quest's website again to find a different phone number for Quest. The first time, when I followed the prompts and selected 'Billing' and 'Get status of my invoice', it asked for my invoice number, I entered it, and then was told again that there is a problem with my invoice number. Annoyed, and wanting to talk to a human, I called back and finally got a so-called customer service representative. First, I informed her that the website was not allowing me to view my invoice at all, and once in August it didn't let me make a payment for a couple of days. She said that the website was "in transition" to a "new system", and that I should have sent the payment in the mail when it didnt work. I informed her that had I sent a check in the mail, it would have arrived and processed LATER than the online payment I was finally able to make on the 31st would have. And, that no one should go into collections because Quest's website was "in transition". Moving forward I told her when the August 31st payment was made and when it posted to my account. She said that because it posted to my account in September, it wasn't considered an August payment. I gave her my payment confirmation number and said "no, it is not missing. The confirmation was on Aug 31st, which was the due date." She then said, "Because it takes our system ten days for a payment to clear, YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE THE PAYMENT TEN DAYS BEFORE THE DUE DATE." I proceeded to ask her how I was supposed to know that, and why have a due date that ISNT ACTUALLY THE DUE DATE??" She just said she doesn't make the rules, and then insisted that I give her my credit card number to make another payment. I refused, and she said that the only way I can get out of collection is if I make a payment over the phone. I said that this is INSANE, that my August payment was NOT late by the due date they gave me (except for their secret due date!), but that even if it was late, a payment made even a week, two weeks, or a month late should not go straight to collections. I ended up giving her the confirmation number of the payment I made on the 23rd of September, which apparently sufficed to remove my collections status. This was one of the most absurd and ridiculous billing experiences that I have had, and I will not be using Quest Diagnostics for my health needs ever again. read more

Today I had the worst experience of my life at Quest Diagnostic on Pacific street, Monterey, CA. My family have been using this lab for the past four years. I arrived at 3:30 and there were three people ahead of me. After waiting for maybe 5 minutes, the African American woman working in that shift very disrespectfully growled "I can't see everyone. There are too many of you and It is just me here today". This is exactly what she said and I saw a young man who had come just after me, left the room right away hearing this disrespectful utterance. It was around 4:10 that she asked for my insurance, the last person in the room. In the lab room, she showed me how unprofessional in her work she is. Oh god! She tied my son's right arm so tight and I was happy that she will easily get the blood but it was a nightmare. She first pushed the needle first then started moving it right to left searching for the vein and it lasted almost 40 seconds to my best believe. My one year old son was screaming and groaning during this period. This unprofessional woman became more nervous when I asked her if she found the vein. While she was still moving the needle, she said that yeah I can find it. I couldn't let this untrained woman to butcher my son more than that. I asked her to remove the needle and she was still insisting that is it Ok I can find it. She walked in my nerves and I had to scream and tell her to stop it. She said "ok but you can't come here again". I said ok and give me a something to clean his arm and she again disrespectfully refused to clean the miss that she made. Dear fellow residents, please don't let this woman to ruin your day or even your kids life, who knows. My son is fine and I am happy that I stopped this untrained and unprofessional and disrespectful woman from causing more pain but nothing else to my son. I am sure other people also had bad experiences with her. I hope someone from Quest Diagnostics reads this and asks about what happened. read more
