My experience here was great. I called and scheduled a diagnostic test and they had room for me a day or so later. My appointment was on time and both the technician and front desk lady were very nice. The best part about my experience was the cost. The prices were fantastic. The charges for the diagnostic procedure here were about a third of what they cost at CHOMP and less than a quarter of what they charge at Salinas valley. I realize other people on here have had some bad experiences but my experience was great! read more

I don't think there is enough staff or equipment to keep their scheduling on time. Left something there and tried calling. I could only could reach a remote SimonMed operator. My physician referred me to SimonMed for an ultrasound. Although the front office was courteous, the billing process was mishandled. They submitted my claim using an outdated 2022 insurance ID, resulting in a denial. Despite multiple calls from me and my insurer and repeated assurances they would rebill, no corrected claim was filed. To avoid any impact to my credit, I ultimately paid out of pocket. I'm also still receiving reminders to schedule an ultrasound that was completed over two months ago. I will not use this provider again. read more

Updated 10/11/2025 My MRI technician Steven, and the other gentleman helping him were terrific! I had severe pain and could not straighten out my leg very easily and they went out of their way to try to make me comfortable and make it work so my MRI could happen. They were very kind and very helpful. I'm also a bit claustrophobic and they were very understanding. Disclaimer: I have been very unhappy with setting things up through the main phone number. There's a big disconnect with trying to reach people live at the local office. It's almost impossible. I feel that their customer service could be improved dramatically. They ask way too many questions every time you call instead of making it easy on their clients. I totally understand verifying who you are, but it is a lengthy process over and over. Most places can verify you by your phone number in a couple simple questions. They really don't seem to care. Also, their online interface is terrible. Cumbersome and does not work well. Having said all that I was completely aggravated and disgusted with this operation, but Steven and the other gentleman redeemed the company for me and they are top-notch. October 7, 2025 Stay away from this place! They don't care, they don't try to help you and their workers don't show up for work. Two different times I went to the office and the person doing the x-rays did not show up. They did not call me to let me know either time and because I'm incapacitated, it was quite an issue for me to get there. No apologies and they didn't care one bit! I had no choice but to go there for my imaging so I tried to go again. This time I called ahead because I wanted to make sure that people were in the office. Every time you call the local number you get sent to some dispatch center that has no idea what's happening. They ask you 8 million questions every time you call. However, when I return those calls--after messages were left--I am met with confusion and asked why I am calling. After providing my information, I am then told they cannot assist me. Simon med Imaging was very helpful to work me in at the last minute for an urgent ultrasound to rule out a blood clot in my injured leg before I get on a plane in a few days. I do not recommend this place. The technicians are very nice. It's admin that is horrific. We had preapproved from our insurance procedures that we had done. We paid ahead of time. They never submit it to our insurance so we are out $1000. We've tried 3 to 4 times they still don't submit it. I've called today. I am at the end of my route so today I called them if they do not fix it and submit the claim to my insurance we're gonna seek legal council cause this is fraudulent. I don't know if they're trying to collect money for me and then try to get it for my insurance but whenever the case I do not recommend this place at all. read more

First I want to start with the positive, the gentleman at the front desk was helpful and apologetic. My daughter had to have an MRI which is a stressful thing alone as a mom. We scheduled an 11:30 appointment and arrived early. The technician let me know we were scheduled during her lunch time and would have to wait. After waiting 30 minutes she took another patient who had a noon appointment which made little sense to me. Luckily we went home to a house filled of family members who were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday so our day ended on a positive note. It just saddens me that we were treated with such a dismissive attitude by someone who is in the business of helping others. read more

I want to start off by giving 5 Stars to the imaging technician, she was the Best! Now back to my reason for 1 star, my Monterey Doc scheduled me appointment with these people, i was given a time & told to come 15 minutes early, then when I arrive, the receptionist tries to schedule me for a week from now, they see the order from Doc, but claim no appointment was scheduled WTF? The receptionist, Im sorry, but she was extremely rude & stand off ish, made me feel as if I were the problem, when until I had walked in that door I had had Zero Interaction with them. I called my doctor to confirm appointment was made & when they asked to talk to receptionist, she refused. Very Unprofessional, my doctor office was taken back by her response. In the End the scan was performed on time, but they collected my Co-Pay & my Deductible before I left, I have never been treated somewhere & had me pay my deductible in advance?? But OK, this was the least negative of an overall negative experience with this company, they seem very unorganized. Update!! Now I see that they charged my card Twice for same procedure. Im SOOOOO PISSSED at this company. I call local number & no answer just rings & rings, so I call corporate in AZ & was told that once they get paid by my insurance, they will refund the overpayment. REALLY!!! So you take my money & keep it, then when your ready, return it? Such BS, I lose money & they gain, on their mistake.. I went in for a pelvic ultrasound. The ultrasound technician made me feel so comfortable! She is extremely professional and dedicated to her job. I went in twice and she was so kind. She did my ultrasound on time and it felt so quick. You can tell that she loves her job. Also, they always have availability and this is so great. I had an appointment for a pelvic exam ultrasounds this morning in Monterey. I was so scared when I came in. The front desk staff was friendly and got me checked in immediately. The nurse that did my ultrasounds was so professional, quick, and kind. She made me feel safe and answered the questions I had. I completely broke down after I left the office because I was so worried about negative results and have been just living in fear for the past week. Dr. Yeganah, whom I did not meet, reviewed my images immediately, and provided diagnosis/results to my primary within 6 hours. I cannot tell you how much weight has been lifted off my shoulders being able to see my results immediately once they were submitted to my primary. Having access to my personal health records so quickly made me so happy and helped ease my worry and anxiety. THANK YOU for handling my images and care so quickly, you have no idea the positive impact it has to just have the information, good or bad. Not knowing and worrying is the worst, and I am crying happy tears because you all handled my tests so quickly and I dont have to worry anymore. Thank you, thank you, thank you. read more

Unprofessional, billed my insurance for a procedure I didn't have done and forced me to pay more than $200 upfront even thought over the phone I was told it was covered. If someone is being referred for imaging, it means something is wrong and they are scared/in pain/sick. The fact that they give you the run around concerning costs and then try to scam your insurance is bullshit. I showed up for an appointment and was told either pay or go away. I took a day off work to get this done because I'm trying to find out what's wrong with me. How inhumane can you be? read more

My husband had an MRI in their Monterey, CA facility. The actual scheduling was routine and uneventful however the person who made the appointment said the maximum out of pocket for his particular exam was $500.00 regardless of whether or not it was pre-authorized by his Insurance co. At the time of his appointment he was charged $697.76 and today he was told he owes an additional $23.42. The person who collected the money was clueless when he mentioned the quote. I called the billing office today and she was equally clueless. Either we were mis-quoted or overcharged- hard to know which one it is. Someone needs to clear this up with the scheduling office!! The facility is in Ca, the appt office is in Arizona and the billing office is in Texas and it's impossible to call the Monterey facility. The only phone number available is a general number and there is no option of reaching the performing facility. Our Dr is requesting a CD of the MRI and I have zero knowledge on how to obtain it and neither does anyone else I spoke to. Should have just gone to our local hospital and not dealt with this nonsense. As a caveat, I worked in the medical field for 30+ years so I know how this is supposed to work. I'm just hoping the Radiologists know more than the clerical staff- I see Lindsey has responded to several of these negative reviews- Hopefully she will see this and tell us how we can obtain the CD and explain their questionable pricing practices. As a physician I have tried to schedule my patients and find there is no live person to talk about setting up a appointment. When I am put on hold I am constantly disconnected. I also noticed that Simon Med was purchased by American Securites a private equity firm based in New York with an office in Shanghai. Medicine is broken and this is why. read more

I was told it was a simple thing to view my report online and just to sign in to the patient portal.. otherwise I would've requested them by mail, but considering it "sounded" like a more convenient option, I chose to view online.. This place is busy. Reception area is small only allows 3 people at a time. Otherwise you are told to wait outside or in your car. The outside waiting line was 3 deep. Showed it to my appointment 15 minutes early as requested. Waited 25 minutes past my appointment time. I had 1 person ahead me, he did not show up when called so they took me instead. I had a US done by a Trainee, which is OK but the real tech did the US again. I used this facility because it was in-network. The receptionist wanted my co-pay up front. I was referred here by my doctor for an MRI and I can't say enough positive words about this business. I was treated very well when making my initial appointment. Upon arrival, the lady (I wish I had noted her name) was kind, friendly and very professional. The technician (again, bad with names) was great at explaining the process, kind and professional as well. I dropped in on two additional occasions to pick up a written report and DVD and was met with the same helpful and welcoming staff. Its not often I find this level of great in a medical office. My doc is in Monterey, so he gave me a choice of going to Salinas Valley Imaging or to Central Coast Imaging. After a de-humanizing, humiliating experience at Salinas Valley Imaging, I opted to try Central Coast Imaging. The worst part of coming to this facility is the parking. There's a huge lot, but it services four other doctors' office and an out-patient surgical facility. I parked across the street at China Garden, and then had lunch there. Folks, I kid you not, but while I was filling out the forms, a staff person came out and offered the patients in the waiting room fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and fresh coffee with real cream. OMG!!! First, though, I was greeted formally by my last name when I popped through the door. The reception staff looked me in the eye. They smiled and were welcoming. Once I was checked in, I was shown the room to change and securely stow my personal items. Unlike other changing rooms, this one was well lit, cheerful, and with plenty of room to sit down. Further, there was even a mirror and tissues to check your appearance before you emerged after your procedure. My tech came to fetch me from the changing room. He introduced himself as Dave. Talk about cute as a button! Friendly, but not too friendly. He found something we had in common and we talked a bit, but not too much. He explained the MRI procedure to me all with a sparkle in his eye. Dave was a total professional. The MRI itself was done in an enclosed unit. I had researched the procedure on line. Most women wrote that it was a much better experience if you wore your own metal- free clothes rather than a hospital gown. I bought a special bra, the Spanx Bra-llelujah, for the procedure. It kept me comfortable and feeling more modest, but I won't be using it again unless I have to have another MRI, or I can't do a reach-around, so to speak. If you ever flew in a World Airways DC-10 in the early 80's, the clanging, and banging will seem very familiar. If you haven't had this experience, the MRI is like being in an extremely loud Euro techno-pop disco. I had a headache afterwards, but overall, it wasn't unpleasant. When I left, not only did Dave say good by, but the reception staff looked me in the eye, thanked me for coming, and said good by. read more

As a patient, I am so glad I went here. They were very accomodating to my schedule and did all the insurance work for me. The staff is very kind and knowledgable! & the radiology-tech was wonderful, he made me feel very comfortable and walked me through the process step by step. I unfortunatley had a tumor show up in my scan, my neurologist, oncologist, and primary care doctor were all notified in less than an hour! I had phone calls from all three of my doctors by the days end. CCDR really gives whole hearted service! As a healthcare provider, I send my patients here not only from my experience. But because their technology is state of the art! The radiologists are on point! And, my staff doesn't need to bother with prior auths because CCDR does it all!! read more

I came here on June 8th, my primary physician referred me here to get two exams, I called ahead to schedule an appointment over the phone to Simon med. They booked an appointment and everything was fine. I show up on my appointment date and my co-pay was collected but never did the front desk lady Sandy whatever her name is never asked me for my referral or anything about my insurance, she said they "my insurance should cover my exams", In a lot of pain holding my urine for two exams I have to hear a "maybe not so sure answer". Ridiculous like come on don't accept patients if a prior auth was no submitted ! This facility cares more about money then patients that come in desperately trying to figure out answers !!!!!! DON'T GO OFF OF THEIR "QUOTED PRICE"!!! OR JUST DON'T GO HERE! I called to receive a quote before going to their facility. I quoted all around Monterey to get the best pricing for the ultrasounds I needed. They "Quoted" me $217. I just got the bill..... $740!!!!! that is 3.4 times the original "Quote"! and they expect me to just cough up another $523??? no. I called around to multiple places before settling on this place due to the price. They asked me at the time BEFORE my appointment if the price was contingent on me going to them. I said Yes. NOT TO MENTION my appointment was over an hour late!! they said to drink 32 oz or more of water before my appointment, and then they are an hour late!?! they are so lucky I didn't pee my pants in the waiting room! that or my bladder bursting.. they would probably bill me for that too! read more

SHORT VERSION: Simon Med and its 3rd party billing service mydocbill.com are negligent and disorganized. LONG VERSION: I went to Simon Med for a simple elbow MRI on December 4, 2019. I've had fantastic private medical insurance through my employer for 27 years. Never had a single problem --- until now. Simon Med's billing arm failed to submit my claim for over a month. On January 1, 2020, my insurance company assigned all employees new insurance ID numbers. I immediately contacted Simon Med and gave them my new ID number and confirmed the address for mailing claims. I found out today Simon Med does not submit it's own claims and does not handle it's own billing. Instead they use a third party claims processing and billing service --- mydocbill.com --- which is notorious for making mistakes. Try Googling "is mydocbill.com safe" or "mydocbill.com reviews" and you will see just how bad mdocbill.com is. My guess is the employee at Simon Med who I gave my new insurance ID # to back in early January did not forward it to mdocbill.com or, if they did, mydocbill.com lost it. Of course if they had promptly submitted the claim, before my insurance ID number changed, the problem would never had occurred. Today --- 7 months after my MRI --- I received an Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company saying Simon Med/mydocbill.com had submitted a duplicate claim re a claim that had already been processed. I checked my old EOB's and sure enough a claim had already been processed for the MRI several months ago. Today I also received a suspicious text allegedly from mydocbill.com which took me to a link asking for personal information. (At first I thought it was a phishing scam --- it took awhile to research it and find out that is a real company, but is known for being negligent and offering lousy customer service. ) So I called Simon Med Billing re the above. The billing office employee I spoke with seemed to hate her job and sounded like she didn't care. I don't have much faith this is going to be resolved anytime soon. SIMON MED SHOULD HANDLE ITS OWN BILLING. THEY SHOULD TERMINATE THEIR BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WITH mydocbill.com. I've been to this location for a Pelvic Ultrasound and MRI. My experience with the MRI wasn't the best, only because the machine was broken and had to reschedule several times, but the scheduler was really good at eventually setting it up at the earliest convenience. My experience with the Pelvic Ultrasound was phenomenal. The ultrasound tech Amanda, was gentle and easy going as I was really nervous and hesitant but she reassured me everything would be okay. read more

I was referred by my doctor for an ultrasound. SimonMed was the only place nearby covered by my insurance that does this procedure. I received a text from SimonMed to call to schedule an appointment. I waited 40 minutes for a live person to speak to. Luckily I had other things to do in the meantime. I finally grew tired of waiting, hung up and took advantage of the online scheduler. They asked me to pick my own time, not knowing whether it was available or not. What if it wasn't? I still don't know. After making the appointment, the website told me I'd be getting a phone call from a real person to verify the time and date and make sure it was available. Two minutes later I got a call. Wow, fast! Next time I'm using the online scheduler! Nope...it was the automated system that kept me on hold for 40 minutes the first time. Except this time it was faster. The person told me I was connected to the wrong region, so said I would be transferred. Hell no! I hung up. No appointment yet. We'll see how it goes at the office. But for now, ZERO STARS. read more

Scheduling department has always been great. It is the SimonMed Center that the techs performing testing lack commonsense. I can clearly state that my last two visits to follow up on a positive result found, were by far the worst. When a tech is conducting a procedure to following the request of the order from the physician..The tech is NOT to use words that may lead to any beliefs of findings or not findings, That means remain Neutral . Two separate times, "You don't feel any pain there?" "I wish you the best", " The doctor will read this right away ", "Oh, these nodules are not that big" "Did I forget to measure the right side" The report comes back negative. Knowing the outside specialist found 3 nodules and would be conducting a biopsy, WARNING: Do not believe what the 'reading' perceives. This is why all physicians request films. SimonMed is so overwhelmed with patients...and collecting $$$..The barely have time for precise image reading. PLEASE GO TO ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC PROVIDER. read more

When I actually did get a person they transfer me to another line where I could again wait on hold and then go round and round again with nothing but a recording. The employees and technicians were great my bad experience came from the billing department. First off I was charged for the MRI but did not know this was an "estimate" I am curious as to how they can charge a price for an estimate of patient cost without knowing how much my insurance would cover. I have had MRI's before and they should go something like this: 1) Imaging center contacts insurance provider 2) Insurance provider informs them of the amount they will pay 3) Imaging center informs patient of their portion of the cost This place does not make it clear that this is an estimate of cost nor does it inform the patient of the doctors "fee" that is added as a separate charge. So the amount that you pay will grow and you will be sent an additional bill. Bottom line is that having an injury or condition is stressful enough without having to deal with shady medical providers. Pay the extra money and go through a reputable service, the stress saved is worth it. read more

Overall, I found my experience here pleasant. I only had to wait about a week or so after my doctor's referral to get an appointment here, so that was pretty quick. When I went in for my appointment, everything was very quick and easy. There was plenty of parking not too far from the office (I went around 3:00). Both of the receptionists were very friendly and helpful. I was in and out within an hour which was pretty awesome as the MRI itself was about 40 minutes (plus filling out forms and changing... there wasn't much wait time at all). During the MRI, I was given ear plugs and a headset to put over my ears. The noise of the machine was not bothersome at all! After the MRI, I got the results really quickly which was awesome! I got the MRI on Monday, and had the results by Wednesday afternoon including the films for my MRI to show another doctor. The receptionists I talk to in order to get my results were friendly, patient, and amazingly helpful. I really wish that every medical office I went to had receptionists this good! I'm a little skeptical of the results as my MRI was all normal despite the issues I've been having, but I have two different orthopedic surgeons who can review it for me as well. I will post later on that regarding their findings. Very professional, friendly, and helpful service. Definitely refreshing after some bad experiences with other treatment facilities. read more

I was extremely disappointed by both the manager of the facility and the receptionist. All went well with the check in process until the technician came out to say she was behind. The receptionist told me that my appointment would be delayed until 3:00 which would not have been a problem had I not been taking antibiotics for the past three days and could not eat that morning after 8:30 am according to the form my doctor gave me when he scheduled the ultrasound. When I told the receptionist I had not eaten and was a bit disappointed by the delay she told me to go and get some food. I explained to her that she shouldn't be telling people to get food when clear instructions were provided not to eat or drink anything after 8:30 that morning. When I asked to speak to the manager she told me the manager was at the bank and she would tell her I wanted to speak to her when she came in. I was still waiting to be called in for my ultrasound when the manager walked in but the receptionist made no mention to her that I wished to speak to her. I then asked the receptionist if that was the manager who had walked in and she said in a very snooty way that she was waiting to tell her I wanted to talk to her until she settled in. At that point I was called in but did speak to the manager after my ultrasound. The manager was no more courteous than her receptionist and saw nothing wrong with the offer for food she had given me and then told me that she heard two sides of the story and found nothing wrong with the way the receptionist had spoken to me and her offer of food. I am perturbed by the fact that a receptionist felt she could play doctor and in the process compromise the outcome of the ultrasound and by the way I was spoken to. Luckily, there are other facilities to go to for ultrasound and imaging. I will not return here again. The technician, however, was extremely professional and knowledgable and had a great bedside manner. Based on another review of this facility I do hope I get my results in a timely manner. read more

USE THIS FACILITY AT YOUR WALLET'S RISK!! I would never go back to SimonMed under any circumstance because they (frankly) lie about their prices. I checked with all the local MRI centers to compare prices and picked SimonMed because they were the most reasonably priced for my type of MRI. I was told that the estimate for my MRI was $435.00 and once they received my doctor's order I could get the actual price. So, I called back after they received the order and was told that the exact amount that my insurance company (they had all my insurance information at the time) would be billed was $540.77. This was still the most economical quote I got, so I had the MRI done at the Monterey facility. They ACTUALLY billed my insurance company $1128.20. I was appalled. I called the number for the billing office and was told that I should not have been given a quote because those people don't even know the actual amount that gets billed. I was told I should contact the person who gave me that quote and try to get them to honor that amount. I called the office and was put on hold. The person just left me there holding. I was determined not to hang up, put the phone on speaker and kept on working. After OVER an hour I finally had to leave and hung up. Called back the next day and was put on hold again - with no end. I called back and was told that the person would research my bill and get back with me in about an hour. That was a week ago. It makes me furious that I was told this bogus information, because the amount they actually charged me was MORE than any other facility I called. Please save yourself a lot of grief and DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! By the way, I have been on Yelp for years and this is only the second time I have ever posted a review. It takes a whole lot to get me upset enough to go to the trouble of posting on here, but I will do it when I feel that people need to be warned! read more

Very disappointed with scheduling staff. Arrived to be told appointment time different then I have. Receptionist very short and not courteous another client there said she had same issue. Imaging employee not much friendlier. They all must be having a bad day which is affecting there business. Waiting area neat and clean. read more
