Very well organized .. in and out quickly ...compared to other Lab places .. phlebotomists are very good at needle sticks .. I recommend

I believe they just do basic stuff here like labs/blood draws, and it's a pretty simple routine check-in with a kiosk and a few chairs for patients to wait. So far I've had this happen to arm three times here after getting blood drawn for a routine basic cbc panel every so often. I find it difficult when people rush around, even when it's not that busy, so pretty much hit or miss. Unfortunately this is the third time this has happened to me and a few other people have told me they had the same experience. Sadly this place no longer has staff that cares. Been here twice since my 5 star review and wow what happened? The women in this office are like talking to a wall. No hello, or I'll be right with you. They seem to forgot what they do for a living. Both times I almost passed out concise it was so warm in the office combined with a fear of needles. The worker did not seem to care when I told her I need to lay down. She proceeded to go through a list of questions. They also struggled to get a needle in me for about 20 minutes so that didn't help. Do yourself a favor and go to a different place. read more

I had the best "first time" experience at Quest - Monterey today. Roselyn was FANTASTIC! She was very friendly and efficient, patiently answered all of my questions, and was able to quickly locate a deep vein that many phlebotomists are hesitant to even try to use. She seemed to have no problem with it at all and made sure I was comfortable at every step. Even after drawing multiple tubes, the stick was so perfect. I have NO bruising at all. I went there on a Friday to pick up the materials for a stool sample. Their instructions were very confusing. Then, when I went to return the sample the next day, they were closed. The sign on their door clearly says they are open Saturdays from 8AM to 12 noon; I went at 9:30AM but they were closed. They should have told me not to do my sample until Monday because they are closed all weekend. There were no instructions on whether I could return the sample on Monday, and if so, should it be refrigerated or room temperature? If the sample is no good when I bring it back on Monday, I will have to do the whole thing all over again. Total failure on their part. read more

Family has had several bad experiences at this facility with employees failing to list ordering physicians to receive test results, failing to note test results copies to be sent to us & asking us to sign our names on a blank screen, falsely claiming it's to verify correct identity when its an advanced beneficiary notice saying you agree to pay in full for a test. Took us several incidents with the latter before we were advised by our insurer that this Quest location was engaging in deceptive practices, which we appealed & won. Switched our business to the one other independent lab in town & have had nothing but a stellar experience. read more

I had to get blood work done that I had been putting off for almost 6 months because needles make me extremely anxious. I always make sure to let the person who is sticking me with the needle know this. I told this person from the start that I don't like needles and that I'm anxious. Instead of being empathetic and understanding, they were rude and a bit condescending. It felt like they were trying to push me out. I understand that there were a lot of patients in the waiting are and I am just another number to them, but the fact that instead of trying to keep me calm or try to distract me, they said, "you don't have to do this today." Ma'am, that does not help a person who already does not like needles and is already anxious. I was in tears the whole time. Lesson learned. I will definitely NOT come back to this location until they learn some better bedside manners. While it was kind of them to offer tissue and water after the fact, it didn't help in that moment when my anxiety was already up. read more

I came to drop off a specimen and waited an hour and half as a walk in. This was a last minute thing, so no appointments were available, but I highly recommend having one. My actual experience with a phlebotomist was great, but the long wait and inability to speak to real person was unfortunate. read more

Each time I come here, it's a complete disappointment. People I've worked with here are unpleasant, confused and each time they mess up in some way (missing part of the lab, poking me multiple times,missing an entire physician's lab order, etc.) Every time I leave wondering why this place keeps on going further downhill. read more

I have been using Quest for years. I always come to this location. Check in is easy with a self serve kiosk. Every one who works there is super nice and friendly. I didn't have an appointment today and was in and out in less than 45 minutes. The place is immaculate. It's my go to lab. read more

I had a good experience at this location today. There was no line at 12:30pm, and I was in and out quickly with a painless blood draw. Very clean, the waiting room is empty right now & there's a lovely bench outside to wait, lots of parking. Easy automated check-in with QR code. The staff was nice and made me feel comfortable, and answered my questions. Only reason I have to knock off a star is because it's impossible to get someone on the phone to answer questions without going in, but that's not the staff's fault, it's the corporate approach. I was just doing a routine STD screening and had to go to a 3rd party STD Check who had actual humans on the line immediately 24/7 to answer questions & schedule for me with better pricing and without a doctor's order. They did not advise me to drink water that morning for an easier blood draw, and I didn't register the advisement to not pee an hour beforehand, so those things should be in the confirmation emails and phone protocol. read more

It is very difficult to get an appointment or to have a blood test taken when you do not have a doc order. These are not helpful to people who use their place.... they need to be clearer and inform people of their issues. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The staff does not know how to properly look up someone's insurance to give an accurate out of pocket expense and will not lift a finger to call the patients insurance company to verify a proper c/o pay. Plus they did the wrong labs on me. The staff is angry and completely unacceptable. Please use the Quest in Marina on 294 Reservation Rd, 93933. They are much better there. read more

I paid for a lab upfront, and they tell you that your results should be ready in a week. A week later still have no test results and they can't even give me a time frame when they will be ready. I submitted a ticket through their app and got a response asking not to submit another ticket. Tried calling their helpline and was put on endless holds only to find out they have no Idea how long it will take and they can't refund my money. Complete scam. Go to Labcorp instead, they had my blood test back to me in two days. read more

Not sure about all the bad reviews of this place...I just went here for the first time and had a wonderful experience. I made an appointment online and was greeted exactly at that time. Slight mishap (my fault) with the lab orders but they still honored my appt. even after I had to send my husband home to print my slip. It was time to do the annual physical. Doctor told me to go get standard blood tests done. I went the Marina, CA Quest Diagnostics. The technician, a pleasant lady named Rocio, did the blood draw. My experience is that this location will not accept a phone call regarding instructions for a test. They give you a phone number with an endless phone queue. If you get to the correct queue number, the call gets killed. If you manage to get their "inside" phone line, it appears to me that they will block the number you called from. This resulted in me having to drive to the lab multiple times prior to the test 15 mins each way (30 mins round trip). Admittedly, the test order had ambiguity. They would not call the doctor's office. I had to get the doctor's office on my cell phone speaker for them to begin helping me. Anything I said to clarify the ambiguity was dismissed. I found them very minimally accommodative, adding lots of stress to me and wasting a lot of my time. Meanwhile, they did not appear busy each time I was there that afternoon, seemingly purposefully unhelpful. read more

The lab was ok, but they used the wrong code charging me $75 which s/b n/c. My doctor's office and I tried to get them to credit me. Waited 40 minutes on hold and they hung up on me. Waited 35 minutes and gave conflicting stories. Filed a complaint via email and got no response. Also filed complaint with BBB. read more

Holly and Rocio are SUPERSTARS. We brought our 6 year olds in for blood draws and it was the smoothest, most positive experience it could have been. No tears from the kids (or me) and we were in and out of there in a flash. They were both very professional, patient and super sweet with the kids. One painless poke for each of them and my kids said they aren't scared anymore if they have to ever go back again. Thank you Holly and Rocio for being so amazing. The Quest appointment system sucks. I had appointments 3 times and they lost it each time. I had a text confirming it, but when I came for that appointment and tried to look it up, nothing came up. This happened multiple times, and since I needed to fast I was hungry. But now I decided to walk it and I am waiting for 3 hours. read more

I had an awful experience at Quest Diagnosis. On their website, they say that "Walk Ins are welcome". That is absolutely not true. Then I asked to make an appointment and I was told they are "full today". There was absolutely no one in their waiting room. Then they told me that they can not make an appointment for me in person, and that I would have to go into their website. As a physician, this is unacceptable behavior, and I will NO longer refer patients to their lab. In addition, the front desk person was rude Avoid Quest Diagnosis. read more

Scheduled an appointment online. Arrived a bit early, checked in using the QR code thingy and was taken back within minutes. Mirella was awesome! She was super friendly, knowledgeable, and the blood draw was pretty quick and painless. (Aside from the initial part:) I was in and out so fast that I had a bit of extra time before my next appointment of the day, which I really appreciated. Times are weird. Overall my experience here was terrible. They said it would be a few minutes then 30 minutes later they finally too my information and what should have been a quick and short test took over an hour. However the time wasn't the issue that I had with this location. It was with their equipment storing procedures which left my motorcycle helmet with a large scratch on the visor. At first Cathleen was the representative responsible during this action so in the case you go in for lab work or a drug test here be aware they're staff is not courteous or thoughtful. read more

Be prepared to wait, even if you have an appointment. Today I waited 40 mins past my scheduled appointment time, only to be booted out and asked to reschedule as a walk-in! When I was finally called back for my blood work and there was a question regarding coverage for one of my tests that required a few minutes to answer, I was booted out of line and told to reregister as a walk-in. A 5 minute wait for an answer for my 40 minute waiting room time doesn't seem like too much to ask for. Now I have to wait an additional hour to seen again. read more

had to do blood test... majority of technicians there are NOT experienced... the lady who helped me poked me several times in order to draw blood and next day i had a big bruise on my hand... i went to other quest diagnostics centers and never had this problem before and it was very smooth and pain free. but this center are not experienced and using young inexperienced technicians majority of times ... i won't go there anymore read more

I had a very good experience at Quest Labs this morning. I made an appointment but found myself close by a couple of hours early. The pleasant staff was able to take me early and I only had to wait a few minutes to have my work done. Heidi, the Phlebotomist, was efficient, friendly and genial. I appreciated the professionalism of the staff but the waiting room looked shabby, needing its paint refreshed and sign-in equipment in working order. Competing with CHOMP's pristine diagnostic labs may be difficult if Quest doesn't step up and invest in its facilities. 5 Star Staff! read more

I had a lab order sent here. The automated phone system makes it impossible to make an appointment and connect it to a lab order. I couldn't reach anyone by phone, no one was at the desk when I drive to the unit. My lab require fasting so I had to come back a different day. When I do come back a different day with a one hour lunch break I was told it would be 14 minutes but it was well over a half an hour and with about five minutes left until I had to return to work I apologized and left the nurses room without my labs being drawn. Will never return to this location... ever. read more

Clean, efficient. Rarely have to wait if you've made an appointment. Plenty of parking. Lab results turn around fast, and are posted to their web portal, if you sing up for it. They've only lost my doctor's orders once in 10+ years. Prices far better than the local hospitals labs around the peninsula, which help to keep my co-pay/deductibles down. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a Friday afternoon, as my work schedule makes it very hard to squeeze in appointments during the week. I arrived about ten minutes early, and was greeted warmly and taken back right away. My blood draw was quick and painless, and my husband and I were even joking with the phlebotomist as she worked. I last visited this lab about five years ago, with similar service. I have had blood work done at other Quest labs, and through CHOMP, and wouldn't recommend them. The staff here is just exceptional, going above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. If you're in a hurry or concerned about wait time, scheduling an appointment is a breeze online, and you have the option to modify it if your schedule changes (as mine did!). read more

Thank you Quest diagnostics! I woke up late today and did not make my 11:30 appointment, but was there at around noon, and the phlebotomist was gracious to draw my blood. She asked me if it was difficult to get blood from my veins, most likely because of my anxious demeanor. I answered yes, hesitantly. She must have been very experienced because she didn't allow my own nervousness to affect her professionalism, such that she was speedy to draw and got right to the spot with very little discomfort to me. read more
