Marque Urgent Care is one of the best when it comes to caring for children. The staff and doctors…read moreare incredibly patient and have such a wonderful way of making kids feel at ease. They use fun phrases like, "Let's check your ears for bunny rabbits and butterflies," which might sound simple, but it truly makes a huge difference. My child, who is usually shy around doctors, actually opened up and even giggled during the visit. On top of that, they gave out stickers and toys to keep the kids calm and happy. I was pleasantly surprised by the toy selection--it really shows the extra thought they put into making kids comfortable. If you're looking for a kid-friendly urgent care with a caring and thoughtful team, this is the place to go!

Appointment Confirmed -- No Doctor Available-…read more I scheduled an appointment at Marque Urgent Care because I was extremely sick and needed care. I drove to the clinic expecting to be seen, only to be told when I arrived that there was no doctor in the building and that I might be seen hours later. So their system allows patients to schedule appointments even when no provider is available. After leaving, I received a text saying I had "missed" my appointment. I replied explaining that I had been there but could not be seen because there was no doctor. Then the next day they sent another automated message reminding me to reschedule because "my health is important." Their automated systems clearly do not match what is actually happening at the clinic. Patients should not be allowed to book appointments that the clinic cannot fulfill, and they should not be told they missed an appointment when the clinic had no provider available. This was a frustrating experience and a major breakdown in scheduling and communication. Updated to the response from the clinic below: Thank you for responding, but your reply still does not answer the main questions I raised. I understand you are saying this was caused by an unexpected provider call-out. However, that does not explain the core failure. My questions were not simply why the provider was absent. My questions were: Why was I still allowed to keep or appear for a scheduled appointment if no provider was available? When did your clinic know the provider would not be there? Why was I not contacted before I drove in, especially given that I was very sick and coming in specifically for care? Why was I later marked as though I had "missed" my appointment when I physically showed up and your clinic could not see me? What specific operational or system changes are being made so patients are not allowed to book or keep appointments that your clinic cannot actually fulfill? Your response says you will "discuss this internally," but that is still very vague. I am not looking for a general apology or a broad statement that this was rare. I am asking for a clear explanation of how this happened and what exact corrective action will be taken. You also mentioned virtual care technology and nearby locations, but those options were not communicated to me in a way that prevented me from wasting my time and money driving to the clinic while sick. That is the issue. At this point, I would like direct answers to the following: At what point did the clinic know there would be no provider available? Why was I not notified before arrival? Why did your system send a missed-appointment message and then another automated rescheduling text after I had already reported the problem? What exact change will be made to prevent patients from being scheduled or left scheduled when no provider is available? Please do not send another generic apology. I am asking for actual answers and a concrete explanation of what will change.

I had pain in my eye for 1-2 weeks which is abnormal for a simple scratch, and he used numbing drops to perform an exam with a flashlight. There was no explanation for what was causing my pain, and he simply told me it should go away on its own. He gave me the numbing drops and instructed me to use them for pain. After doing my own research and meeting with an actual eye specialist, I learned that numbing drops actually inhibit healing and cause decomposition in the cornea (AKA IT WOULD START MELTING AWAY). It's really sad that you can't trust medical professionals anymore.

I would understand if I was a walk in, but my appointment was at 9:30 am. The email confirmation even said to arrive 15-20 minutes early. I almost wonder if urgent care would have been more efficient. In my opinion, it is ridiculous to wait this long when you've made an appointment, especially with 0 communication. At least let me know you are running behind or give me the option to come back at a different time. Often times patients are squeezing in these appointments in between their own work days, kid pick ups, etc. I think there needs to be more courtesy for patients. I'm just thankful I wasn't extremely ill having to wait this long! Thankfully the appointment with my doctor went great, but I'd love a bit more communication. During the visit, I heard an older woman asking how much longer, so the doctor left and went to talk to her and even tried to reschedule. This just proved that there needs to be more communication along the way.

UPDATE: nearly a month later, I'm still dealing with Hoag Aliso Viejo Urgent Care incompetence…read moreregarding an asthma medication. After receiving a denial letter from my Medicare Part D provider, I brought it to CVS and asked them to bill Medicare Part B - per the denial. CVS pharmacist informed me they needed an asthma diagnosis to bill Medicare Part B. CVS contacted the clinic twice last week and were IGNORED. I checked with CVS today and they still hadn't heard back from Hoag. I called the clinic, spoke to Luis (who refused to give his surname). He was as unhelpful as possible. I fact he attempted to blame ME for Medicare Part B refusing payment. He kept muttering to contact them sooner the next time - which had nothing to do with the issue. I explained to this young man how I was forced to pay out of pocket... at least 5 times. I don't think he ever understood why I was calling. Luis called and spoke to the CVS pharmacist who gave him the Medicare Part B *provider* phone number. Luis gave me that number and told me, the patient, the call. Medicare asked for the NPI (National Provider Identifier) which a patient wouldn't have. CVS is unable to assist as Hoag Urgent Care computer system refused to electronically submit the prescription to CVS - stating it needed a pre-authorization (and advised me to check back in 10 days). This is Albuterol Sulfate nebulizer solution that I needed to keep myself out of the hospital while battling Influenza Type A. I was forced to purchase the medication out of pocket because breathing is rather a mandatory thing. I will be filing complaints with Medicare, Hoag Patient Relations, and the Better Business Bureau. In future, I will be going to another facility for my urgent care needs, as Aliso Viejo has ALWAYS been a problem ... either with billing or substandard medical care. HOAG COMPUTER PRESCRIBING SYSTEM REFUSED TO SEND ASTHMA DRUG TO CVS. That's the issue and it's BAD. I'm a senior citizen with Type A influenza and asthma. I was short of breath at my visit earlier with Dr. Z. Ahmed. He prescribed Abuterol solution for my nebulizer and Tamaflu. Unfortunately, the computer system at Hoag made the decision to NOT send the Albuterol solution to my pharmacy as it decided the med required a pre-auth. My husband came back from on the pharmacy with Tamaflu ONLY. PROBLEM! I was forced to call Hoag Urgent Care and tell them to call in the Albuterol Dr. Ahmed wanted me to have at home to prevent a *breathing emergency*. I was forced to get dressed again and drive myself to CVS to pick up my asthma med. I paid cash. MY CHOICE - NOT HOAG'S COMPUTER. I called and spoke to Katherine, informing her of this massive issue. Instead of being proactive and helping, she made the decision to take my complaint about Hoag computer system personally - although I sincerely doubt SHE programmed the system. My request to Katherine was quite simple: "please inform Dr. Ahmed that Hoag's computer failed to send my asthma med to my pharmacy." Katherine decided to take issue with this simple request - so here I am, posting a complaint. Dr. Ahmed needs to know the problem with Hoag computer system. It's HIS license and he should be confident that the medication he prescribed actually gets sent to the pharmacy. That didn't happen so I'm here to inform the public and Hoag that their computer prescribing system is INTRUSIVE and is making medical decisions without a license. I was using EXPIRED Albuterol at home (April 2025) over the weekend, waiting to go to urgent care today. Dr. Ahmed did everything right. Hoag computer decided to deny me the medication because my insurance wanted a pre-auth. THAT WASN'T THE COMPUTERS CALL. It was mine. I paid cash - $28.34 (NO BIG DEAL). MY DECISION because I like *breathing* ... kinda necessary, right? DO BETTER HOAG ...

NOTE that 50% of the reviews are negative -- 1 star! To me,…read morethis practice is dangerous. Read the newest reviews; 2024-25: 6 negative, 1 positive. Now make that 7 negative. When people take time to write about their concerns, that is a warning. This doctor may be competent but the practice is a complete mess. She lets an x-ray tech run the place because that person will be rude, confrontational and dismissive. So much for patient care. There are serious issues with professionalism, patient communication and follow up. There is no patient portal; phone calls are literally never returned; there is constant staff turnover and beware if you ever have to deal with the so-called medical director who is named multiple times in the reviews as in need of replacement. I second that. The doctor will not respond to calls or walk-in appointments. Even if your insurance covers it, they will not hold tele-health appointments until you put in your credit card number. What if you have no credit card or donʻt want the world to have your cc number when it isnʻt used? "Itʻs our vendor, we have no control over it." Change your vendor. This is health care, not profit care. The Physicians Assistant will not consult on the telephone. So either find a way to get to the office no matter how sick you are, or forget about it. When I did put in my credit card for the tele-health, the PA prescribed a medicine without noting that it was off the formulary. The co-pay cost me $430. The place is dark, dingy, completely unwelcoming and looks unsanitary. There is no written material to explain to new patients how to navigate the crazy way the practice operates. Staff are polite but depressed; check out Glass Ceiling to see what the staff really think about working there; it is not good. Find another doctor. This place is a nightmare.
