I had a really great experience at AFC Ladera Urgent Care. The front desk staff, especially David, were incredibly kind and helpful from the moment I walked in. I had multiple issues going on and he took the time to carefully write down all of my explanations and concerns with so much patience and understanding. Dr. Parisa was also amazing. She was very knowledgeable and was able to quickly diagnose the issue right away. She explained everything thoroughly and clearly, answered every question I had, and was extremely sweet and reassuring the entire visit. She even took the time to write a note for me when I asked without hesitation. Everything was handled efficiently and professionally, and I really appreciated how smooth and quick the whole experience was without feeling rushed out by her. I came in hopeful that this location would provide a positive experience, but unfortunately my interaction with the front office staff fell short. When I arrived, the front desk staff member did not acknowledge me, despite my standing directly in front of her. She continued a side conversation with someone in another room and, once finished, remained seated without greeting me or letting me know she would be with me shortly. I had to initiate the interaction to move the process forward. I am new to the area and brought my child in because they were sick, so I chose the closest urgent care option. Had the situation not been urgent, I likely would have left. After completing the paperwork, I returned to the front desk and again was not acknowledged. When she did engage, she requested payment without any greeting or explanation. When I mentioned that my insurance card had not been captured and asked if she needed a copy, the response was a brief "sure," without much engagement. The patient coordinator who called us back was friendly, and the provider was fine. However, overall the experience did not meet expectations. Empathy and basic courtesy are especially important in a healthcare setting, where patients may be ill and parents are often stressed and exhausted. While we did receive care, the overall patient experience fell short of what I would expect. read more

I came in because along with flu-like symptoms, I was starting to have difficulty breathing, so I wanted to specifically be checked for pneumonia. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment and there were two other patients who had been waiting; overall, seemed pretty slow! It still took me an hour to see the provider. This always boggles me because the provider only sees you for a few minutes, so what else are they doing? Doesn't seem very urgent to me. Anyway- the provider listened to my lungs and said I didn't have pneumonia. When I asked for an xray to confirm, she said she didn't want to waste having me exposed to the xray radiation since she could already tell. A couple days later, with my symptoms worsening, I went somewhere else for a second opinion and they confirmed I do, in fact, have pneumonia. Is it possible I could have not had pneumonia and then developed it? Slightly, but probably not since I had 100% of the symptoms when I came to AFC. Ultimately, it's not just the time or the money, but how hard it is to bring yourself out of bed being this sick and then only prolonging the recovery. read more

My complaint not about medical but the UFC finances careful they duplicate charges after few days from your visit and if you don't have your receipt you don't have proof so I learned my lesson always holding printed receipt, this time after a week from my family visit charged my credit card when i called complaining they went back & force then cane back oh its a copayment charge for a visit insurance didn't approve August 18th 2024 & we are in 2026 And when i said I didn't & will not authorize this transaction i heard arguing repeatedly then said someone will call you back but no one did And i had to call my bank to stop UNAUTHORIZED FRAUD transaction read more

Showed up at open and waited for the front desk girl to let me check in. Some other woman came in after me and jumped the line. Lady at the front was rude and didn't prioritize at all. I won't be coming back. Edit: they gave me my money back and I left. I asked the girl at the front why she didn't prioritize and she admitted that she wasn't paying attention. Even though I went up to the desk and let her know she didn't inform any of us that check-in was open, she was super rude about it. Avoid this place at all costs. After reading other recent reviews, it's very clear that the problem is common at this location. The desk staff is terrible and doesn't care about the constituency. read more

Avoid this urgent care at all costs if you're looking to get USCIS paperwork done. They advertise that they handle immigration medical exams, but it's completely false advertising. We scheduled an appointment specifically for this service, and when we arrived, we were told the doctor actually lives in Kansas and doesn't even work in this office. Instead, we were informed that our paperwork would be "sent out" to a different doctor (Dr. Lee) at another office in Anaheim to begin the process. What a complete waste of time. To make matters worse, the front desk staff--especially David Ma--was dismissive, refusing to acknowledge any fault. No apology, no accountability, just excuses. The listed civil surgeon, Dr. DeLuna, is not even on site and apparently "remotely" oversees the office. If you're expecting to meet a qualified doctor and have your paperwork processed efficiently, this is not the place. Be warned--they do not have a doctor in the building, and they'll waste your time while offering no real service. Do not fall for the misleading info on their website. read more

Super unimpressed with AFC. I've heard not so great things but decided to give it a try myself. It was quiet with only 1 other patient there, and I still feel like I was not given the time of day. I went in on suspicion of having strep throat. I had all the symptoms, and 2 other members of my family currently have it. My rapid test was negative, and the Dr sent the nurse in to tell me and release me. He didn't even come back in to discuss. I went to another urgent care and tested positive. While I understand rapid tests aren't always accurate, considering I had the symptoms and there are others in my household with it, the Dr could have taken the time to come back in and discuss or possibly suggest a throat culture to send out as rapids aren't always accurate. Needless to say, I won't be returning to AFC. read more

I normally haven't had issues with this Urgent Care but today, unfortunately I cannot say the same. I scheduled an appointment for my husband to get a visit and that would possibly be leading to an x-ray. The front office staff was very unhelpful and had said that we needed an x-ray referral from a doctor. I let her know that we didn't have the referral and that we just wanted to be seen then she had an attitude and said "the doctors going on lunch at 12" I let her know that I had already made an appointment and she was being very unhelpful to the point where I actually had to leave and stuff outside of the office for my husband to finish the check-in process. It seemed to me like the front office staff was making every obstacle in our way and not being helpful and courteous as they should have. read more

I have had a terrible experience at AFC with a certain older male NP at AFC in Ladera. The first encounter with him was with my son and we completely got blown off, and the NP acted annoyed that we were there. Then, I was there with my husband about a week ago, and the guy actually had the audacity to ask why we would come there, when my husband was having a medication reaction. He rolled his eyes at me, and was visibly irritated and unhelpful, in any way. Skip this place!!! read more

Absolutely appalling experience with AFC Urgent Care. The office staff is atrocious. Priyanka (who handles billing) was shockingly rude in particular. Completely unprofessional. I called with a reasonable question about a massive charge on my bill, and was met with hostility. She was impatient, aggressive, and wouldn't even let me speak. She was cutting me off constantly. When I tried to calmly ask a follow-up question, she hung up on me. Completely unacceptable behavior for someone working in healthcare. Zero customer service skills, no empathy, and absolutely no interest in helping patients understand their bills. Avoid this place. There's another doctor's office (with a great team) just a block away. Go there instead. AFC clearly does not care about how they treat people once they've taken your money. read more
