I was helped out by a few people... and they were all very supportive and nice. Most of our interactions were via phone when I lived in Summit Valley, because there was no internet out there lol, so I just recall talking and scheduling a date and time for a check, did it, and then got back "home" -- months later, however, I did test positive. Quality of care here was great, and I was attempting to stay in Palm Springs after the BF dumped me and I couldn't make rent money on my own, but it was just too pricey and everyone wanted to be on the wait list for housing -- it was like 5-6 years out, so I said, nah... not gonna fry to death in the desert and left to go back to Texas. I miss DAP, and PS, and Summit Valley as well. I wish I was back there, and I will get back eventually... 55+, look for a sincere relocation to take place. Denver won't be the spot at 55+.

My recent experience at Riverside University Health was deeply unsettling. Both the emergency and…read moredental sides of the facility showed a surprising lack of professionalism and coordination. Staff were combative and dismissive, unable to read or interpret prescriptions correctly, even when the information was clearly listed in the medical record and chart. It's concerning when licensed staff, including an LVN, appear uncertain about basic medication refills. Even the pharmacy seemed unprepared to handle a simple refill request, as if no one could just look up a patient's file and process it efficiently. That delay alone speaks to serious gaps in training and workflow. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was the behavior of a security guard who seemed to follow my partner into the restroom--completely inappropriate and unnecessary. To add to that, there were families nearby trying to take our stroller, which wasn't even the real one--our test model, while we're still waiting on our Cybex Gazelle S, Atom G, and Nuna systems. To be fair, there are some genuinely kind and capable women providing excellent care here. But others appear to be abusing their roles, frustrated with the system, and bringing that energy into their work environment. The result is an atmosphere that feels invasive, unprofessional, and--at times--ghostly. I hope Riverside University Health takes this as constructive feedback to improve discipline, training, and patient respect.

THREE WORDS: GLORIFIED DRUG DEALERS…read more I left this urgent care extremely disappointed. My experience felt like the doctor's role was simply to write a prescription rather than actually evaluate my condition or discuss treatment options. When I asked questions and was looking for medical guidance, I didn't receive any meaningful explanation, opinion, or advice on what might actually help me recover. The billing experience was just as off-putting. I paid cash because I don't have insurance, and I felt like I was treated with suspicion because of it. Before I ever received any treatment, I was asked to pay multiple times and had a credit card terminal put in front of me at least three separate times. Instead of the typical process of receiving a bill or paying at the end of the visit, the focus seemed to be on collecting payment before providing care. If all you need is someone to write a prescription, this place may meet your needs. But if you're looking for a physician who takes the time to evaluate your condition, explain their reasoning, and provide thoughtful medical guidance, I'd recommend going somewhere else. I left feeling rushed, unheard, and no more informed about my condition than when I walked in.

Not that it was hard, but I felt super supported and she addressed all of my questions and concerns immediately. Nurse Irene was swift and withheld judgment. I was there for, what I deem to be, an odd reason. I think it would be unusual for a person to be all judgy vocally, right? But you feel/see it in their body language. Know what I mean? Yeah, she was not like that at all; she kept it professional. The doctor walked into the room and the only thing stuffy about the guy was his use of the word "doctor" when he introduced himself as Dr. Kiskila. Except that there was no bravado, or ego, or any attempt to intimidate me so I would bow to him and accept his word as law. It kind of felt like even he didn't want to use the word "doctor", but the darned corporate bureaucracy finally wore him down on that point. He completely disarmed me, though, when he placed himself in an inferior position by sitting down on the bench across from me, which was at least a foot lower than the examination table I was sitting on. He wasn't standing in front of me, talking down to me? Nope. And we talked sort of like we were already friends, which made it a heck of a lot easier to talk about something weird that I didn't want to talk about. He was candid, comfortable, and unusually happy (not like a puppy dog, but just in comparison to other doctors). Of course, the guy knows his stuff. I came prepared with knowledge (my sister is a nurse and she loaded me up with info the night before), and asked him question after question and he passed with flying colors. I don't just mean that he knew the right answers--I wasn't there to test him that way--but the quality and thoroughness of his responses were exactly what I needed to feel confident he was going to get me through this, and that I would feel better soon (I don't have a life-threatening illness, so, no, it wasn't delusional to lay down that much hope this time around). Anyway, I'm so grateful for the excellent treatment, that I was nurtured and nursed, and didn't leave feeling like I still didn't know what was going on, or like I had just fought a battle trying to get the doctor to hear me. And it all happened so quick: less than half an hour! Plus, I'm happy to report, the prescription he gave me had me feeling a bit better within a few hours (and even better now, which is still only 20 hours later). A+ service all around!

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.
