Deanna called me up within 5 minutes and started the check in process, only to learn that Aetna not only sent me to the wrong Urgent Care, they also had given me the wrong insurance card! Deanna could have easily sent me on my way, but she went the extra mile (and for those of you that don't know, it's never crowded) and located my provider and the correct urgent care facility. The waiting room is small but does a fantastic job in what it needs to do--having people wait. My wait time was very minimal. I didn't mind completing the registration form which was very basic. Kristy, the front office specialist, was very nice and informative (and even remembered my name the day after my visit--I had to return to ammend my medical note to include an additional day). As another reviewere stated there wasn't any introductions on the staff part but I'm the type of person who seeks (and reads name tags) the names of those helping me so it wasn't too much of a big deal. However, for others, I can see where this could be a negative experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this clinic.

I went to urgent care because I had pulled a muscle from excessive coughing. I had strained the back of my neck, had soreness in my chest area, and developed a sharp pain in my side. The pain had been present for several days, and I simply wanted a medical evaluation and possibly medication to help with the discomfort. Instead, what I received was fear, panic, and emotional trauma. Within minutes of speaking to Kandin Maraquin, I was told that I was having a heart attack. Not that it needed to be ruled out. Not that there was concern. I was told I was having a heart attack and needed to go to the ER immediately. If I did not have transportation, I was told an ambulance would be called. I was completely blindsided. What was most alarming was how quickly this conclusion was reached. I felt like he immediately jumped to the worst possible scenario without taking the time to properly evaluate me, ask additional questions, or perform a thorough examination. The entire interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and lacking any level of compassion. I was there less than 10 minutes.. His bedside manner was nonexistent. There was no reassurance, no empathy, and no concern for the emotional impact of what he was saying. It felt as though frightening a patient was of no consequence. I was visibly upset, terrified, and in tears, yet there was no attempt to calm me down or explain things in a professional manner. I left that office genuinely believing I was having a heart attack because of how aggressively and confidently it was presented to me. Even after an EKG at the office, did not indicate that I was having a heart attack, I was still sent to the emergency room. Out of fear, I followed the instructions and spent approximately eight hours in the ER. The outcome? No heart attack. No cardiac emergency. No life-threatening condition. The emergency room physicians determined that my symptoms were consistent with pulled and strained muscles caused by excessive coughing, including the muscles in my neck and chest area. After hours of fear, tears, anxiety, and emotional distress, I was told exactly what I suspected from the beginning. I understand that medical providers must be cautious when chest pain is involved. What I do not understand is how a healthcare professional can communicate in such an alarming, insensitive, and unprofessional manner. There is a significant difference between saying, "I want you evaluated further to be safe," and telling a patient they are having a heart attack before a thorough evaluation has been completed. No patient should leave a medical office traumatized. No patient should leave feeling like they were treated as an inconvenience. No patient should leave in tears because of the way a healthcare provider chose to communicate. My personal impression was that the situation was handled with poor judgment, poor communication, and a complete lack of empathy. I left feeling that my concerns were not thoughtfully evaluated and that the provider was more interested in rushing me out the door than actually treating me. Patients deserve professionalism, compassion, and careful communication. Unfortunately, I experienced none of those things during this visit. This experience was frightening, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable. I would never return to this provider, and I sincerely hope management reviews how patients are being treated because no one should walk into an urgent care for a pulled muscle and leave believing they may be dying.

They have a pretty spacious waiting area and there hasn't been a lot of people in it at once. Receptionist was nice, and helped attend me. Staff seem like they do more than one job at once and staff meant for one role, play another. If they seem busy it's because of that. I appreciate the MA that took my vitals and drew my blood. She seemed like was very busy but still was patient with me. The NP that saw me listened and gave me a plan of treatment. Wait time was okay but like I mentioned, seems like staff are doing different jobs at once.

He is very honest as well as I can see from his practice of prescribing medicine to children. He does not simply prescribe anything unnecessary. Often times he does not prescribe anything at all to let my child recover naturally as long as she is not experiencing any complications. He also responds to my questions over the phone fairly quickly. I really appreciate that. I also enjoy the customer service of the office staff. It is very easy to reach them by phone. Same-day appointments with Dr. Chong is easy to arrange. Clinic is clean and newly remodeled. Very efficient and professional. Highly recommend.
