I'm writing this review specifically for Suzy, the lab technician at Quest Diagnostics. Over the past few months, I've been through a lot with doctors' appointments and constant lab work, so by the time I arrived for this visit I was already worn down. When I checked in, I found out the lab tests I needed had not been ordered correctly and had been sent to LabCorp instead. Suzy was the one person who turned the situation around. While I was sitting in the chair trying to sort things out with my doctor's office on the phone, she was patient and genuinely helpful. She helped me confirm the exact tests with the office and made sure everything was correct before proceeding. She also took an extra vial of blood so that if my doctor's approval came through shortly after, the lab would already have what they needed. That meant I wouldn't have to come back and go through the entire process again. It was very proactive. Suzy was kind and attentive especially during a moment when I was extremely stressed. After a rough start to my morning, she was the only person who actually helped me solve the problem. Very disappointing experience with Quest. Before doing my blood test, I specifically asked if my insurance would cover it, and I was clearly told yes. Based on that information, I agreed to proceed. Then, at the end of the month, I received a shocking bill for $1,000. If I had been told upfront that my insurance did not cover this test, I would never have agreed to it. There was absolutely no warning, no estimate, and no transparency about the cost. Finding out after the fact felt misleading and extremely stressful. Healthcare is already expensive, and situations like this destroy trust. Patients rely on accurate information to make informed decisions, especially when it comes to insurance coverage and pricing. Being told one thing and then billed a completely different amount is unacceptable. I am very disappointed with the lack of clear communication and accountability. I was a little put off when I walked into the office and there was no reception desk, just an empty, cold looking room with two computers kiosks where you can check in. Boy was I surprised by the amazing service I received! Jennifer came to get me at exactly my appointment time. My blood draw was fast and painless, she is super skilled at her job! But the most fun was all of the cute, funny and entertaining gizmos in her office. From pictures of her dog and family, to a myriad of hysterical dumpster fire toys, she made the whole experience delightful! I even got to pick out of her (high quality) sticker bin when I was finished. I've had a lot of crummy blood draws over the years, but Jennifer makes me look forward to the next one! read more

I tried their phone number to make an appointment. First there is no real person to speak to, second, they found an appointment for me but the system would not let me choose it. After a few tries, I thought they put me down for that appointment so I stopped trying. Then I received a text from them reminding me of an appointment made for another day and another time. So finally I went today to my appointment at Foothill Ranch Hoag location for Quest, the system did not find that I had an appointment. I was there before 8:00 am and put my name down for a waiting list. Every time I checked with them they tell me we called your name and you were not here, but I did not move from my seat. Then I was getting excited when I finally saw my name first in line only to see that someone snuck another name before me which made me second in line. Then my name disappeared all together and the person after me was called. This time that person was the one who complained for me because he was a witness to all the mistake they have done with me. I was there at 7:45 and I did not leave until 11:10 for a simple blood test. read more

Quest Diagnostics claim "Walk-ins are welcome. But only so that they can keep their appointment calendar full. If you are a walk-in, like my 98 year old mother, you will only be seen when and only if someone doesn't show up for their appointment. On top of that, they close the office at 12:30-1:30 for lunch, and you can just sit in their lobby and wait some more. She waited for two hours and was told she is still on the waiting list and there were four appointments ahead of her before their lunch break. Needless to say, she left without being tested. So to be honest, I don't really believe they WELCOME walk-ins. read more

Beware of this location, there's a reason this place has only 3 stars. I have been getting my blood drawn once a month for the past 6 months. I usually go to the Quest on Town Center Dr, but unfortunately they didn't have any appointments available for the time I needed. I don't remember the name of the person who did my bloodwork, but it hurt, was rushed, and the needle scratched the lower part of my arm (when it never does at the other location I go to). This is a very clean and extremely well ran quest. I did not have a good experience at the quest in San Clemente, (Talega) on Hermosa so I left and made an appointment at this location. The staff is very professional and thorough It is definitely difficult when you have to get blood drawn frequently, especially during the diagnostic phase of an illness. This quest is very compassionate and caring. Thank you, and I 100% recommend this Particular office . It is kind of crazy how they are all ran so different. Like many people, I hate getting my blood drawn. Recently I had a procedure done at mission hospital and four nurses all missed my veins when trying to insert my IV. Throughout the years getting blood drawn has always made me nervous and it's something I dread. UNTIL I found this Quest location. I've now come here four times over the last few years and I must say, all of the staff is wonderful. They're kind and welcoming - even during COVID - but they're also (and perhaps most importantly) wonderful at their job. Missed doing some of orderedtests had to go back for redraw. They also sent results to wrong doctors and missed doing some of the tests again on the redraw. They did not do all that were on the orders from 2 docs. How hard can that be. Don't appreciate the extra sticks and my follow up doctors appt I paid for to go over the labs when he did not have all that was needed. What is wrong with these people???? I read the Yelp reviews of Quest as I was on my way into the facility this morning to have blood drawn. Firstly, I hate having anyone draw blood from me. Despise it. I don't faint, pass out, or anything like that, but I hate needles. I was petrified after reading the reviews, and wished that I had signed up to another facility location. Anyway, I arrived 4 minutes late for my appointment (note: you have to park a decent walk away in a parking garage that charges $3/hour to park), and was worried this would be an issue. Nope, no issue. There were maybe 5 other people waiting in the room. I found the woman behind the desk to be helpful; everything was fine. Very professional. I had to wait maybe 5 - 7 minutes, but not bad, considering the wait I've had to do in other places before. Andrea was the woman who drew my blood. I explained I hated needles - but that I'm not a fainter or anything - and she was very friendly and talkative the whole time. Everything was clean and tidy in the facility, from what I could see, and have no complaints, other than the parking. Quest doesn't validate. If they did, five stars. read more

I have been having to go for blood work weekly for a medical issue I have been dealing with since November. I just have to say this location is amazing. Everyone that works there is nice and there is never a wait. If I make an appt. I make it online and they take me right away. I had an issue with my doctor's office sending the orders and Rachel went above and beyond to ensure I could get my blood work done that day. I need to leave a review here! It has been really hard to get appointments or walk-ins to any Quest Diagnostics due CoViD-19, but We finally were able to get there. SHERLYN(I hope I am spelling your name right) you deserve a BIG THANK YOU, you make my daughter feel very comfortable with the blood test, she is normally scare of needles period, But Sherlyn was very nice, kind and talk to my daughter the entire process, YOU ARE THE BEST ONE! This is my second time coming to this location at Quest Diagnostics in two months. I had good service from all the ladies both times. They were all working the front and the back. I feel as they should be given a job to work just the front office or back taking blood. It's not fare to them or the patient. They are doing their best to help us by doing multiple jobs. Yet, you can tell they are over worked by running the front and back. I don't blame them, I blame the company for not hiring front assistance for them. I just moved here from Northern bayarea where I go to Palo Alto Medical foundation Sutter Health. I've never seen that happen on my visits there unless it's the end of the day and holiday. So I needed to get my blood work done because I have a surgery coming up. Well, I have to say my experience was not nearly as bad as the reviews I read on here. The staff was A grade. I hate needles and don't get my blood drawn unless I absolutely have to. Again, quick and painless. So why only 3 stars? Well shortly after I got my blood drawn I got up and immediately felt my blood sugar drop. I nearly fainted. The staff took care of me and laid me down. The issue I have is that you're supposed to have some sort of sweets or orange juice to level out your blood sugar. None of that is even provided there. Could be due to Covid related reasons. After reading other reviews I was a bit concerned at coming to this location. Regardless of where you go and you don't have an appointment you should have the expectation go wait. I tried making an appointment for quest but the earliest I could get at a decent time with my 12 hour fast was 3 weeks from now so I decided to go first thing in the morning. I showed up at 6:45 hoping there weren't that many people in line since they opened at 7am. 4 people already in line. There has been 1 person with an appointment so 5 people total and me. All 5 people have been called back and are getting there blood drawn. This location is fast and efficient and the ladies working here are extremely friendly and chipper for this early in the morning :) If you are needing to get blood work done this is the location to go to! read more

I just returned from having my 10 year old daughters blood drawn. This was by far the worst experience and the worst phlebotamist ever. It was a young man and by the time he was done there was blood everywhere. To the point where he had to wipe off and clean up the chair, the arm rest and my daughters arm. I have NEVER seen so much blood while having my own blood drawn. And the fact that it was my 10 year old daughter's experience was horrible. I have tried to call the office, like someone else mentioned and there is no way to contact anyone. I may get in my car and drive over there today if I don't hear back just to let them know he should not be drawing people's blood. I am honestly horrified by the experience. read more

So this location advertises that it takes walk-ins. So I walked in this morning. They now have an impersonal, unmanned, sign in computer. So I did. I've been here many times before. When there used to be people to speak with. Although generally with an appointment, but I have walked in on previous days. Anyway, sat down. Unsure as to whether or not I was properly signed in. An employee came out from the secured door leading to the inner sanctum. I asked her if I had signed in properly and waiting there was the right thing to do. She said yes, no numbers are given but if you signed in, you're all good and someone would call me soon. 25 minutes later, she walks back out from the laboratory vault, to tell me that they had decided they were no longer taking walk-ins today because they are too busy and understaffed. Somewhat short of getting on my knees to beg, I made the plea that they should take me since they told me I should wait and would take me. All these fell on deaf ears. Awful experience , my girlfriend that's 8 months pregnant, walked in for a 3 hour test, upon our check in at quest diagnostics, we had a nurse by the name Julie who was reluctant to help us, once my girlfriend was starting her 3 hour test, a specific water bottle for the test was given to my girlfriend so she could start. As my girlfriend started drinking it "Julie" yelled from across the room unprofessionally, hurry up drink it faster, we don't have time for this. My girlfriend confronted "Julie" about her rude approach. "Julie showed little to no remorse and continued to make the two of us feel unimportant and unwanted. The last time I checked, a company that's specifically designed for customer care shouldn't be avoiding clients, making the client feel as if her time is invaluable and insignificant. I personally don't know any buisness in customer care that treats there clients with such disrespect especially nurses . I'm giving the one star to this location because they wasted my time with my 10 year old daughter , who fasted the day before for her glucose test . Staff was running around like a chicken who's head was cut off , they did not know what to do , after almost 30 min of "figuring out what to do " and asking me if the test was for me ?! Did I look like I am 10 years old ? Rachel told me that they can not perform the glucose test for my daughters safety because she is a minor and their protocol won't let them test her there , they gave me a glucose bottle to take with me to her doctor and told me to test there . They didn't want to be liable ?! I took my daughter to test her to where her doctor is and told them about that Quest Diagnostics refused to test her and send us away . They were surprised. My daughters test went fine . I just want other people to know if you have kids that's not the place to take them to test , save your time , energy and money ! read more

I had made 2 appointments for labs as something usually happens as my medical condition sometimes throws me for a loop and prevents me from fasting... Luckily I did. I go there the first time at 7am and quest was missing my labs, so Rachel said they would call my md office and get the lab order for me. Unfortunately it was so early and I needed to go to work, I decided to come back for the other appointment I had. Came back on a Monday with a 7:30 appt time and checked in at 7:28am and out by 7:50 despite a full lobby. Rachel was super prompt and friendly and good at lab draws!! She remembered me from the week before and the 3 months prior as I get labs every 3 months. Since I get labs so frequently, this is definitely my go to place! If I may suggest 2 changes: a hook for a purse in the bathroom and if possible (longterm), a second bathroom. And either discounted or free parking. read more

Rachel super friendly, I didn't even have to sit down, I went straight into lab and Rachel had taken my blood before I even realized it, 100% pain free, didn't feel a thing and I am one of those people with hard to see veins and I often get stuck a few times before they find a vein.
