Where do I even begin? Sooooo, my doctor says I need bloodwork every 4 weeks ...sounds simple, right? WRONG!!!! Fast forward to Friday, my first appointment, and... Wow!!!! I walk into what looks like the set of a suuuuper low-budget medical drama: 15 people packed in like sardines, several were literally standing in the hallway. The vibe? Suuuuper Sketchy aaaaand Cringe!! The staff? Let's just say if they smiled, I missed it. I couldn't tell if they were working or being held against their will. Not exactly the confidence boost you want before someone sticks a needle in your arm. Juuuuuust sayin'! Oh! Aaaaaand pro tip - Make an appointment. Sure, they say they welcome walk-ins, buuuuut based on the chaos I witnessed, that's like saying you're welcome to crash a wedding... good luck getting a piece of cake. During the hour I waited (yes, an hour), walk-ins kept asking where they were on the list. No one had answers, and these folks were NOT happy campers. Honestly, it was like a medical office meets Survivor: Waiting Room Edition. lol. (Yes, I love Survivor!) Needless to say I am NOT looking forward to going back for episode 2 in a month.*Sigh

Absolutely horrendous customer service and equally horrifying quality of care. By far the worst phlebotomists I've encountered.

Insurance hassle. No help. Just pay. Surely this is covered by insurance but there is no help on how to file Orr even paperwork.

I was greeted by a woman at the front desk and taken cared of in the best way by my phlebotomist. I didn't get his name but he did so well with keeping me calm. I'm not afraid of needles but blood does make me a little anxious. The flow was quick and process was easy. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I highly recommend this location especially for those who care about customer service and great care.

Unfortunately, I was initially ignored for about a minute, despite standing there clearly needing help. When I was finally acknowledged, I was told, "If you checked in, you need to have a seat and wait to be called." I explained that I was seeking assistance because I was unable to complete the check-in process. While she did eventually help me, her demeanor was not welcoming or friendly. During the check-in process, I was asked to manually enter my insurance information. My primary insurance was not appearing in the system, so I selected "out of pocket" just to complete the check-in. I debated whether I should ask for further assistance because I was already uncomfortable with the interaction. However, I eventually decided to approach Dayleen again to see if she could upload my insurance information. This time, after explaining that I needed help, I was told she was busy. It was unclear whether she wanted me to wait or return later because no guidance was given. I noticed another employee, Pauline, assisting a patient, so I asked if she could help me when she was available. Pauline was kind, professional, and gladly offered to assist me after she finished helping another patient. While I was waiting, Dayleen informed me that Pauline would not be able to help me because accessing my information would require pulling up my account, which could not be done until I was called back for my blood draw. She also stated that they could not "push me ahead of everyone else" and that I needed to take a seat and wait. At no point was I asking to skip ahead or receive special treatment. I simply needed assistance with my insurance information. When Pauline returned, I explained what had been communicated to me. Pauline reassured me that helping me was not an issue. I then expressed that I felt Dayleen had been rude and unprofessional throughout our interactions. Dayleen responded by telling me to "stop and calm down," which came across as aggressive and confrontational rather than helpful. Due to the way the situation was handled, I requested the supervisor's contact information. Dayleen provided it, but her tone remained confrontational. I greatly appreciated Pauline's professionalism, patience, and willingness to help despite the circumstances. I also want to give special recognition to Sam, the phlebotomist. Getting blood drawn makes me extremely nervous, and Sam went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable. He engaged me in conversation about my personal life to keep my mind off the procedure, remained friendly and compassionate throughout the appointment, and had a very gentle touch during the blood draw. His kindness and professionalism made a significant difference in my experience. Overall, Pauline and Sam are the reason I am giving this visit 3 stars instead of 1 star. Both provided excellent customer service and demonstrated the level of professionalism and compassion that patients should expect. Unfortunately, my interactions with Dayleen negatively impacted what could have otherwise been a much more positive first experience.

Everyone was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor explained everything to me, they gave me some shots to get thru the day... and I think this was an amazing experience! Unfortunately, 2 days after visiting, my experience left me frustrated and scratching my head. My main complaint is I was prescribed fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cipro) for a sting ray sting, without any mention about the well documented risks associated with lasting tendon rupture and collagen matrix disruption. It was only once I'd done my research that I had to call to see if we can switch. One of the PA's (Paula, also exceptional) took my call and even said she was glad that I caught that and did not understand why I was prescribed Cipro when there are much safer alternatives out there. When I had gone in, I was also given a steroid shot to help with inflammation and left in the room for some time. I started to get quite nauseous and felt close to fainting. I had to step outside and call for someone, just to be told "yeah this happens often, forgot to warn you" and "you beat me to checking in on you." What's worse is I came to find out combining fluoroquinolones with corticosteroids (steroid shots) have been documented to a FOURTEEN (14!) FOLD increased risk of tendinopathy and tendon rupture (D. Baggio, M.R. Andana-Rajah, 2021). Why on earth would you combine a fluoroquinolone and corticosteroids? If there are safer antibiotics, why fluoroquinolone alone? The whole experience just feels medically untrained or professionally careless. I'm completely bewildered, and quite frustrated.

I went to the lobby, where the front desk staff verified my information and told me they'd be with me soon.
