With an appointment, there is hardly any wait. The staff is always friendly and professional. Usually, techs have trouble drawing my blood because I have small, deep veins, but each time I have come here, the staff used the right-sized equipment to draw my blood. Quest Diagnostics came through for me this morning! I typically have my blood drawn in my doctor's office as they have an in-house phlebotomist. Due to covid-19 she was backed up for more than a month so I had to find another alternative. This Quest Diagnostics location is less than a mile from home. I was able to schedule my appointment online. Through the online process I was also able to enter all of my information, including insurance, which made check in easy and fast. I checked in at the kiosk using the confirmation code sent in an email. Once I checked in I was called back in less than 5 minutes. Tip: my appointment was for 7:30 AM, and there was only one other person waiting. Faye was wonderful! I could tell she had been a phlebotomist for years as I felt nothing when she put the needle into my vein. Bonus, I was home by 7:45 AM! I would absolutely recommend this Quest Diagnostics location and I plan to use them again in the future. read more

Had a wonderful experience at this location this morning as a "walk in". I arrived a few minutes before opening (630am) and was the 2nd person on the walk in list. I was called back almost immediately and was helped by Nunu. She was pleasant and very good at drawing the blood (painless and quick). Arrived at 700 am for a 715 am apt. Was in the door and seated by 710 am. Processed my paperwork, insurance , and payment all at once. Very convenient. My phlebotomist was very professional and experienced no pain with the drawing of the blood. I was out the door by 720 am and made it to work on time. I would recommend this site and also scheduling an appointment as by the time I was leaving the waiting room started to crowd up. Update 5/2/2018 Another great experience here at Quest Diagnostics. Walked in at 640 am as they open at 630 on the weekdays WITHOUT an appointment. Let's just say there were 9 people ahead of me and I was in and out of the office in 20 minutes. RUDEST employees, zero compassion - i will NEVER come back to a Quest. Short version: they have a mask policy but don't provide masks there and by the time I left to get one and came back, my appointment had passed and I couldn't be seen. Insane policy and rude people. Longer version: I had to take off of work, work out childcare and drive across town to this location for a blood test that I needed to be done ASAP. Because I was coming from work I grabbed my wallet and that's it. I showed up and they told me I needed a mask (which wasn't communicated prior and had I known that would have made sure to have one, also I'm vaccinated but that's besides the point). They require a mask but didn't have any provided so I had to go find one elsewhere. By the time I returned I was past 10 minutes late for my appointment and could not get my needed blood work done. On top of this the two women that I spoke with - one was at the front desk and one was a nurse who worked in the back and happen to be walking by - were both extremely rude and not understanding of the situation. read more

Your best bet is to always make an appointment at least a week or two in advance. If not, you will be stuck in the waiting place. Just waiting. I knew I needed labs today for an upcoming annual check up, so I went online to schedule an appointment at any location last night and was shut down. There weren't any appointments until a week or two away at all of the locations in Jacksonville. Bummer. So then, I knew I had to come here as a dreaded walk in patient. I have been a walk in before and arrived early trying to outsmart the rest at 6:30 am and that was a complete bust. There was already a line at the door. So my plan of action today was to arrive a little later to maybe outsmart the early birds and come in at 9. I figured the early birds got here early bc they had to be at work by 9 and I would catch quest at a slow time. Wrong! There is not a slow time here. Never ever. The check in process is smooth. You enter all your info on a tablet and then sit down. And then you will watch your name on the tv bounce up and down letting you know you only have 13 minutes until getting called back, but then an appointment person walks in and bam! Your wait is now 23 minutes. You will play this game until you decide you are done getting your hopes crushed and decide to look away. Once they finally call you back, you will go to a desk and hand over your insurance card, id, and credit card. Once you are checked in, you get to wait again! Yay! And then when it is really your turn, you will go back, give your specimen, and be sent on you merry way. The main issue I have with this place besides all of the waiting, is that they are seriously understaffed which the main factor of the wait times. Overall, the facility is clean and the staff are friendly and I don't have any other choice as far as lab work is concerned so I will continue to come here. read more

I signed in at 11:10 as a walk-in and within 25 minutes I was called back which was a surprise to me. I've come here in the past WITH an appointment and waited 30-60 minutes past my appointment time to be called back. I must've picked a good time to come (Monday afternoon). The lady called me back and went over my information and the usual billing/verification process before drawing my blood which was smooth and easy. I did notice they left the previous patient's paperwork laying on the desk with their personal information for anyone to see which was a little concerning. I feel as though they should put the previous person's paperwork away before calling the next patient back. Once I was called back I sat in the testing room for about 8-10 minutes before the lady came back to draw my blood, no biggie there. Once she came back I told her which arm was best and let her know I tend to be a very hard stick. Overall she did pretty well, it's hard for me to blame people for how well my blood draw goes because my veins never want to cooperate. She was a tad bit rough and dug the needle around like she was digging for treasure at one point but It doesn't really bother me, I'm actually fascinated with getting my blood drawn (weird I know). I've been going to quest for labs and blood work for years and as it's not always the most exciting thing to do, all of the women that work at this location are so kind, sweet and helpful. I've never had to sit longer than 20 minutes in the wait room and they do a great job of getting you in and out of there . This location has always been very clean as well . I've had to come here twice so far this year for labs for my pregnancy and I have to say I'm very happy! The first time I did a walk in and expected to wait some time, I was out within an hour. This time I made an appointment and learned they now only take appointments so I'm glad I did that. The girls that work at this facility are always extremely kind, caring and fun! No one wants to get labs and blood work done but they make it enjoyable. They also have very steady hands and I barely felt the blood draws. The first visit I saw the girl in room 1 and today I saw the girl in room 2. Would recommend this location if you need any labs done! read more

I tried this one after having a bad experience with the one on Southside Ave. that was way overbooked. Today, 3/17/21, I was able to make an appoint at 10 am for an 11:30 am draw. I arrived ~11:25, checked in on the touchscreen, waited inside a clean waiting room, where there were only 10 chairs or less, (one was even a recliner!), and waited about 7 minutes. I had my blood drawn by James, who was friendly and efficient, and I was out of there within 15 minutes. Great, I highly recommend!! read more

This place is amazing. The way it is set up is as streamlined as possible and makes for a quick easy experience. I showed up at 6:30 AM when they open, there were about 8-10 people in front of me. I thought I would be there quite a while, not so! You sign yourself in on an iPad on a stand with just your name, dob, phone. Take a seat, on the tv there is a list of (first name only) people in order and if you had an appointment or not. It tells you how long until you will be seen, about 3 min per person! When you're called you go into the room right away, all paperwork is done right there including payment. They take your blood and done! Every person I have ever dealt with there is friendly and professional. I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

I called their phone line and it says hey accept walk-ins. Upon walk in is a very small and no one to greet you. So I stand by the window and there is a person typing so I say excuse me sir. Maybe he did not hear the excuse me but responds very rudely, saying he is with a patient. So can't even say hello, give me a second or someone will be with you shortly. Just very rude. This Covid season has taken it's toll on the medical community in the form of substandard care for all of those who are not on respirators. Yesterday I tried to do walk in here and since the testing I needed required fasting I got there as soon as I could in the morning about nine thirtyish and then proceeded to have to stand outside for two hours before I decided that that was enough and I left telling them to take me off the list. Almost 12:15 PM I got a notification that it was my time now. Over an hour after I had given up on waiting. Several times I had inquired about how much longer it would be and was given vague information about there were nine people ahead of me. Apparently one person took a lunch and there was only one person doing bloodwork while about 30 people waiting with line out the door because of social distancing. How do you manage a business where you have somebody taking lunch while that many people are waiting who have not eaten since early in the morning? My business had to suffer because I wasn't there to do it while I was waiting in vain. I won't be going back there. Here's how I as a business owner would have handled this: if you're gonna make somebody wait three hours then let them leave and call back when they're ready to come back in. No employee lunches until the line is down. I know everybody and their mother is gonna be running bloodwork now maybe add additional two hours to the day to get caught up with a massive amount of work that was not done in the last several weeks. I don't do anything nearly as critical as this but I still work many hours out of the day past working hours. A business like this in my opinion should do the same. Oh and the reason I actually had to walk in there without an appointment was because when I called to make one there wasn't one available till next Thursday that's not OK. I think you need to be more in touch with your customers and what they need. I won't be one anymore. Fortunately I found out that my doctors office can actually do these tests and I will be doing them there instead. read more

If I could give a Zero I would! When you show up early for a walk in (because these places are very hard to get an appointment that works around a child's school schedule in the time frame you are given for the Dr.) and you are 5th in line and they are supposed to be open at 7am, and the staff come around the building and notify you that they are stuck outside the building as well because the person with the key has failed to arrive. This is Bad Business Practice on top of the attitude of the staff once you get inside. I asked if they would be open on time the next day as I had to get children to school on time. The woman laughed in my face. And I marked out my child's name and said I would try again tomorrow but that I would be filing a complaint. She laughed harder. Is there something wrong in this world when people don't put the Patient/Customer First! When a Company is ok with loosing money! I have to get blood work at least once a year and I like going to Quest. This one is closeish to home so I've been there many times over the last few years. I was surprised at the negative reviews posted for this site. My only "complaint" is that at other Quest locations my experience has been that if you make an appointment ahead of time and show up early -- they will take you in early because you took the time to make an appt early. Not these folks - no cutting ahead of the ones who did not bother making an appt but got there and waited. If you do have an appt always take your appt confirmation code with you and write it down on the sign in sheet. Now, having said all that. The ladies up front are fine, competent plenty, polite enough. But man those phlebotomists in the back are just downright awesome! I am a BIG chicken when it comes to needles and these ladies are often funny, put me right at ease -- but even when they don't crack gentle jokes with me they are always gentle on my arm, quick, and more importantly -- the experience is painless -- which is of course my preference. Today I had an appt for 8 am. I arrived around 7:05 am and was out the door before 7:30 a.m. Not bad. Getting in and out sooner would have been a delight. But all in all quite tolerable.
