Not the best experience ever when I went in to get my blood drawn. The lady that helped me seemed to be having a bad day, therefore I tried being extra nice to her so she wouldn't hurt me too badly. Unfortunately, being friendly didn't help much as I got bruised up real bad. I get my blood drawn frequently at other places and have never gotten this bruised. Its too bad, this location is so convenient. Only 2 staff members, no receptionist so one of the lab techs has to check people in. The people are nice but whoever manages this location doesn't know what they are doing. No one to check in, others without appointments have to wait more than an hour. Never again coming to this location! And whoever manages this office needs to get these ladies some help! Makes me a little worried my bloodwork may not end up in the right place??? read more

I was a little afraid to come to this location after seeing the bad reviews but it's the closest to home. I was unable to get any appointments within a week in irvine so my only option was to wait and luckily when I arrived at 9:15, there were only 3 other people ahead of me so they were able to help me by 10am which was very fast in my opinion for walk-ins. I was ordered to do the 3 hour glucose test which means I needed my blood drawn 4 times in the course of 3 hours... I thought for sure my arm would bleed to death from Toni's poor reviews but it didn't hurt at all!!! She was actually pleasant and was able to draw blood with one try! After all 4 blood draws I am still alive and arms are still intact :) I felt really bad for the 2 nurses... They close for lunch (lock the doors at 11:55am) but before they are able to eat, they need to finish all the tests and by the time they finish, there's hardly any time left to eat.... I appreciate their work and although they are tired and hungry, they manage to still be nice to me. :) read more

(1 star) Arrogance and rudeness is what it is on the caucasian lady in blue lab coat wearing eyeglasses who acts like she controls the whole healthcare in Orange County. Her interaction with patients "customers" is totally obnoxious. She's probably forgetting that she represents Quest and not a free public Healthcare facility. So glad the lady named ANH (5 stars) assisted me after more than an hour of waiting time. She is very nice and the exact opposite of the 1 star lady. read more

I visited this place yesterday afternoon. The front person sounded very rude and unhelpful. Finally with me trying to be super nice she showed more effort to at least try to answer question. I asked her for CPT code amd she ga e wrong number. I finally figured it out myself by Google g and going to Quest website. Got there a few minutes before they opened at 8 am and got right in and served first. In and out in 10 minutes.

I went here on strict orders from my Dr. To get a bile acids test TODAY. I am 32 weeks pregnant and might need an early delivery due to possible liver issues. I was driving fast to get there before 5pm. I got there right at 5 and someone opened the door for me. The tech (larger female with blonde hair and glasses) came out with an upset face and said "were closed". I stated it was an important test that I had to do that day and she simply repeated "were closed once the door locks" - with a stone cold emotionless face. I have never come across someone SO mean. You can really tell she hates her job. I've come from the same industry and I have to say it's really not good for business to have someone working there who will have absolutely no care for patients. It's a care based industry. If I have something wrong with my liver and am not able to address things in a timely manner I will be pursuing this location. Quest Diagnostics I am very disappointed that you would allow your employees to treat people like numbers and act as if they're invisible just because they want to get off the clock. read more

Just based off an observation while waiting for my appointment: The woman at the front desk (heavy set blonde with glasses) is EXTREMELY unprofessional. Rude. RACIST. I came in to her loudly snapping at and treating a grown woman like a child because she had a heavy Asian accent. I sat down and a white guy came in and she was at a polar opposite. Minutes pass and another Chinese woman comes in, and she goes right back to snapping at her and being rude. It's not as if she can't understand her and vice versa. It's just straight up racism happening. There's more people in now, all white, and she's reverted back to this smiley, nice woman. This isn't the midwest, this is Irvine. Hire someone who isn't a horrible human being. Just honestly so disgusted by this. I honestly don't want to even have my appointment anymore, but upon checking yelp ALL quest diagnostics suck. I needed to come in to get some blood work done and had to be fasting, it was impossible to get an early appointment online and it said walk-ins are welcome so I arrived 10 minutes before they opened and there was only 2 people in line. When they opened they told us they were not taking walk-ins and it was by appointment only and we if we wanted to do a walk-in it would be a 2 hour wait. WAIT? WHAT?! 2 HOURS? There was no one there but us three walk ins!! The other 2 ladies left and I asked the girl if she could just take me in since nobody was there and she said no because if she took me in then she would have to take everyone else in too. Don't know what she was talking about because I was the only one there... So it's impossible to make an early appointment online, I tried to call to talk to someone but could not get past the recorded message. I came here as a walk in for blood work. When I walked in around 9am the clinic was packed! I have to say, I am very impressed by the staff, especially the front desk lady who was manually doing everything as the computer systems were down. I thought I would be waiting forever, but ended up waiting only 20 minutes for my name to be called. The physician that drew my blood did quick work. Very professional and NO bruising where at the injection sight. Being a walk in, I was very happy to be in and out in 30 minutes! read more

Please stay away from the location on Laguna Canyon in Irvine. starting from 1) receptionist :she is very rude and not friendly at all. I asked her questions 2 different times and every time she said wait few minutes and never followed up. 2) Long waiting time: (2 hours and 15 minutes just because I was walk in) 3)environment: The waiting room air was not fresh at all. Air condition or fan was not running and there was a strong smell of chemicals was coming to the waiting room to the point that was hard to breath. 4) workmanship: the lady who drew blood (Laura) she was rude too. First pronounced my name way off and when politely I asked her what name she is calling for,to make sure I am the right person, and give her my name she rudely said "I said the same thing". then she took the blood and result is that after the 4rd days I still have a big purple mark on my right arm. I took my 11 month old for a blood draw. The experience was incredibly awful. First, we arrived 10 minutes before our appointment time and waited 1 hour before we were checked in by the nurse Sara. It took another 10 minutes just to get our information typed into the system which I already provided online when I made the appointment. Then our nurse ask the dad to hold my daughter tight. We followed. Then guess what? She walked away and disappeared for 10 minutes! My daughter got impatient so I had to take her out of the chair for a walk in the lobby, and I saw she's taking blood for another patient who came in later than us. When she was finally ready to take blood for my daughter, the WORST part came. She poke the needle into my daughter's arm. Blood didn't come out. Then she poke around in her vein back and forth which made my daughter screaming and crying so hard. She finally took 2/3 of the blood that was needed. I asked to do one more time because it already took us 1.5 hrs to get the blood draw. Then I was told that I have to make another appointment if I want to do another poke because there were other patients waiting. I couldn't believe what I heard. I have no word to describe how unprofessional the staff are. Will never go to this place again. read more

Went to this location at 4:18 checked in then sat down. Then associate Kim came out to tell me, I would need to come back another day since they close at 4:30! There was another women in there as well, Kim rudely told her the same thing. The woman said she had been waiting over 30 minutes and was also upset they would now not attend to her especially since she had already been checked in and was waiting for so long. There was no one else there. They could have easily at least helped one of us. The most frustrating thing was just how rude the associate Kim was. I have gone to Quest many times before and have never had such a negative experience. There is a much kinder way to tell people what time you are closing. The other lady waiting was there and had been checked in well within an appropriate time to be helped. Kim was even ruder to her, especially since the lady reacted in disbelief that she would not be helped after waiting for so long. Any time a person is made to wait for an hour in a waiting room is unacceptable. Not to mention never being able to get a real person on the line to answer questions. Staff is rude, probably as a result from dealing with all of the disgruntled customers having to wait FOR EVER!! I'm reporting this facility to the health department. Nurse Toni B. Put me and my 2years old to tears. She used her fingers without gloves to test the veins.then without the rubber and poked him and keep moving the needle around as the poor kid crying.. Then she put the gauze on the arm chair and put it directly on his bloody arm. When I complained and asked to use a clean new gauze on the arm, she acted confused and rolled her eyes. As she unlocked the door for me to leave, she said there may not be enough blood and we may need to go elsewhere again.. Then I said let's finish it today and just to get rid of me she said, no it's ok to try the current dosage. 2 days later, the lab shows no blood drawn and when my doctor called, she said she was too busy to call and infirm anyone that there was not enough blood to do the tests... Now I have to take my poor kid through this again. read more

My first time at this location and I was thoroughly pleased, surprisingly. My dr appt ended at noon so my blood work order was obviously going to have to wait until after quest diagnostic staff's lunch. Decided to come to this location as it was closer to my home. It helped that I was the first one at the door waiting when they opened their door after lunch. The staff didn't greet me so I greeted them :) I signed in and was immediately sent to the room to wait for my plebotomist. Within 5 min, she was there and yes, as the previous reviews read, she initially lived up to the expressionless, non cordial service without even a "hello" or even any type of verbal acknowledgement that I was sitting there. She almost seemed mad as she put her gloves on and began work. But I chose to be friendly and asked how her lunch was. This allowed a smile and a response. She turned out to be very nice! Hardly felt the prick of the needle and I was out of there in 15min. I can see why all the complaints of staff being rude. But sometimes they just need a smile from my end to respond to :) Afterall, it can't be all that exciting to do that all day...all of us know we can forget to smile in the midst of the daily grind. Hope your experience is just as well as mine was and if it starts sour, try cracking a smile and a greeting yourself. We arrived at this office as a walk in at 11am. They close at noon for lunch and I asked if we would be seen before then, because the waiting room was packed. I was told the door would be locked at noon, but all people who were there would be seen. We were seen at around 12:15 by a technician named Toni. She was pleasant, but seemed overworked. She had to set up my daughter in the system before she could then input the lab orders. This took at least 10 minutes (no wonder there is such a big wait). Then she drew her blood. No problems there. I asked repeatedly if the tests were marked STAT. I was told repeatedly that yes they were. We left the lab at 12:30. At 4PM my daughter's surgeon is asking why they don't have the results. My doctor called and was told Quest's "STAT" window is 4-6 hours. So, my surgeon calls and tells me that they will get the results, but after their office is closed and my daughter's surgery is before their office opens, so, if I want the surgery to go forward as planned, they will have to rerun the lab work again tomorrow, at the hospital. I agreed to that, so my daughter can have the surgery on her arm, which has been broken now for over 11 days. This lab is understaffed and cannot provide the services they are being paid for in a timely manner. No one ever told me that my STAT lab work would not be competed within a reasonable time frame. If I had been told that my results would not be provided before 5pm, I wouldn't have wasted an hour and a half at this lab. I would've come up with another alternative. As a result, we will be charged a second time for lab work that we already completed. read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would. They are way under staffed and overly busy. I made an appt online, showed up and they said I didn't have one. The wait would be at least an hour and a half for a walk in. I walked out the door. There are other labs out there with better customer service and no wait times. Straight out lied to me about the reason they couldn't run a test. I asked them to run a labor intensive send out test and they told me they didn't have the reagents to perform the test. Called the lab it was to be sent out to while in the parking lot, no reagents are supposed to be use ANYWHERE in the process! I went back in and they told me they just don't /do/ that test anymore. I tried to ask them point blank why they told me it was because of a reagent shortage (and why they told me no where in California could do it). They responded letting me know they just weren't doing the test and were now closed for lunch. At 11:55. Seriously, look at the blood draw pictures, listen to the stories. And she's friendly and makes you relax which makes the whole process easier and less stressful. She's a pro! But the only thing that lacks in this place is perhaps more employees? Made an appointment online which was super easy. I have been to other labs before for blood testing but first time at Quest. The staff is very attentive. Each patient waiting in the waiting room were either asked how they were doing or got an update. The person who drew my blood was extremely friendly and pleasant do deal with! She was very careful and although didn't say much, her attitude felt very reassuring. She didn't want me to have to take a second trip, so she took the time to find the right vein which was very much appreciated. (Didn't catch her name, but she was the lady with blonde hair, and glasses). Appointment was at 11:30am on a Fri and was out within the hour. read more

These people are crooks and criminals. Especially if you are a cash patient. They will keep sending you bills for additional tests that "weren't charged" initially. Also when my wife went to pay for a bill the employee over there decide to debit her card twice for the same amount and when my wife protested she claimed the First transaction was cancelled and that she had to debit the card again for the second time and told her to call billing. This was when i came and showed them a piece of my mind. I mean you decided to debit our card twice for the same amount and then when we ask you you tell us to call billing. They immediately printed for me proof that one of the payments was cancelled once I confronted them. And not only that but I also found out that the first charge was actually registered. For some reason the damn employee decided to charge the transaction again and this was the transaction that was cancelled. Now I have to talk to my bank to refund the duplicate amount. You know a business is fraudulent when they have an extension that you should call specifically if you are a lawyer. I mean what business does a Medical Laboratory have with providing a dedicated extension for if "you are a lawyer". read more
