I'm incredibly grateful for the care I received at AFC Urgent Care…read more After being sick for several days with what started as a cold, I initially visited another urgent care clinic (a different company). I was diagnosed with a viral upper respiratory infection and was only advised to use over-the-counter remedies like Tylenol, throat spray, and Flonase. Unfortunately, my symptoms continued to worsen over the next few days. By the time I decided to go to AFC Urgent Care, my condition had progressed significantly. The congestion had moved into my chest, I was experiencing severe coughing fits that made it difficult to breathe deeply, my body was extremely achy and lethargic, and I had developed wheezing and what felt like bronchitis. From the moment I walked in, the team at AFC took my symptoms seriously and addressed every concern with care and urgency. Because my blood pressure was elevated, they even performed an EKG to rule out any heart issues. They also ordered a chest X-ray to make sure I didn't have pneumonia since my lungs sounded concerning and I was wheezing. They treated me immediately with a steroid shot in the office and sent me home with a comprehensive treatment plan that included a steroid pack, a Z-Pak antibiotic, an inhaler, and prescription cough syrup to help with the severe coughing and difficulty sleeping. What stood out most was how every single person I interacted with -- from the front desk staff to the nurse practitioner -- treated me with genuine compassion and professionalism. They listened, thoroughly assessed my condition, and made me feel truly cared for. I left feeling confident that my concerns had been taken seriously and that I was on the right path to recovery. Thanks to their prompt and thoughtful care, I'm now improving and finally on the mend. I've been to this AFC location several times over the years and have always had great experiences. I recently moved and tried a closer urgent care clinic, but after that experience I will gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to come back here. The level of care and attentiveness from this team is absolutely worth it. Thank you to the entire staff at AFC Urgent Care for the incredible work you do and for helping me feel better. Your dedication truly makes a difference.

She said she would prescribe Theraflu and ibuprofen, and I left feeling as though my concerns had been rushed through. I would not return to this location. What a waste of $169!!!! Very disappointing experience from start to finish. This place is clearly understaffed, and…read moreunfortunately, the patients are the ones who suffer because of it. We called ahead for a simple sports physical and were told to come in. After waiting around an hour and a half, we were unable to get the physical completed. We were then told by the manager to return the next day and assured that it would be taken care of. We came back as instructed, only to experience another unnecessary wait. What really made the experience worse was the lack of professionalism and communication from the staff. At one point, the nurse addressed me by saying, "Hey, come here, come here," which I found extremely disrespectful and inappropriate. I understand that emergencies happen and that ERs can get busy, but this was a simple sports physical, and the entire process was unnecessarily difficult. If you value your time and expect professional customer service, I would recommend going somewhere else. Pay a little more and save yourself the frustration.

I had an overall okay experience at Lifesavers Emergency Room in The Heights, but there were a few…read moreconcerns worth mentioning. The biggest issue for me was the lack of upfront transparency regarding costs. I came in assuming my visit would be covered by insurance, and at no point before treatment was I clearly informed of what I would be responsible for. I completed all the paperwork and followed their process, only to be presented with a bill at checkout. It would have been much more appropriate to discuss costs before the visit began, as is typically expected in most medical settings. As for the staff, my experience was mixed. One of the physicians seemed attentive and genuinely concerned, while the other came across as dismissive and left abruptly. A staff member in blue scrubs (possibly a nursing assistant) was professional, kind, and made a positive impression. On the other hand, the nurse in black scrubs appeared rushed and less engaged in patient care. What stood out as particularly concerning was being asked during my visit to leave a five-star review in exchange for a gift card. I declined, and this review reflects my honest experience. Patients should never feel pressured or incentivized when it comes to leaving feedback. Overall, the visit wasn't terrible, but there is definitely room for improvement, especially in communication, bedside manner, and transparency around billing.

Pain went away shortly thereafter and all the swelling was gone within 24 hours.

Every single staff member I encountered was friendly, compassionate, and professional. Having to go to the ER can be a traumatizing experience because you are already worried about what is going on with yourself. This ER made sure I was tended to with the utmost care and compassion, which made all the difference. Dr. Sherry and Nurse Jackie were absolutely incredible. They were attentive, patient, and never once dismissive of my worries. They took the time to really talk with me, understand my history, and explain everything thoroughly. That level of care and communication is rare and so appreciated. Even though The Heights Emergency Room is a stand-alone ER not tied to a big hospital network, they are impressively well equipped. Their rooms are spacious, comfortable, and as clean as any hospital ER I have ever seen. They also have the equipment to test for a wide range of issues on site, and my labs were drawn and processed right there with results coming back quickly. That kind of efficiency gave me real peace of mind. Since I was there most of the day, they even arranged Chick-fil-A for me, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch. It really made me feel cared for as a person, not just a patient. After a very negative past experience at another hospital, this visit was a complete 180. I will absolutely be coming back here for any and all emergency needs in the future. Hands down, this was the best ER experience I have ever had.
