Horrible customer service- understaffed, on one employee on site. I was a walk in (only to pick up a collection kit), waited half hour- phlebotomist came out once to tell me she was processing work then may be able to sq me in between 32 other appointments later- waited in an empty office- no appointments came in for over 44 minutes- terrible customer service. rude and abrasive- called HQ to get help- they called site and of course nobody was here to answer phone read more

I walked in this morning with no one in the waiting room and no one at the desk. When I said hello, someone finally came out and said they could not help me because they were on break and my wait would be an hour. She acted so surprised and annoyed when I asked why. Like how could I ask that question like that. She rolled her eyes. Seriously people, this is a medical procedure place. People should be helped not say they are on break with an attitude. read more

I arrived at 10:40 the close at 11. The woman working refused to serve me. Perhaps update your hours or actually stick to them?

The care at quest lab on Glasson Way is abominable. Tammy in particular is downright dangerous. Because she cannot admit that there is anything she doesn't know, she refuses to educate herself, even after I went to the trouble of providing copies of articles describing proper sample handling for patients with my condition. I hope she sees this, because I have made it my goal to get her fired to save other patients from her DANGEROUS ignorance and unwillingness to learn. read more

My doctor sent me to quest and told me there was one in the same building and that it closes at 2. I went up there and the lady turned me away saying I need an appointment and that most doctors tell their patients that and that she already had several patients. After I made an appointment and returned a couple days later the lady told me the test ordered was discontinued. While in the phone with the doctor the lady gave me snark remarks and dirty looks. She was extremely rude towards me. Then she looked at me again with a dirty look and told me she can't wait on hold any longer. I do not recommend that place. read more

Years ago Quest used to be good but but lately the lady who runs the Sierra Collage lab is rude beyond measure ! She needs to find a job where she doesn't have to work with the public , She is running the whole office by herself because Quest is too cheap to hire a girl to run the front desk or even hire two people to do the tests . BUT that is still no reason to lash out at customers . And they also fail to receive the orders for the doctors several times this has happened . I know for sure the doctor sent the request because I was with the doctor when he sent it ! I had go and return 3 times before I finally got my bloodwork done ! read more

I have had to wait for almost 30 minutes WITH an appointment because the receptionist was unable to find my name on her computer. And, the phlebotomists are never friendly or cordial. They appear to hate their job. Unfortunately, it's the only game in town so we're stuck with rude...! read more

there's been a lot of snow and some businesses are open and others are closed, I thought quest would be open or you wouldn't be able to make an appointment, right? well I got there 5 minutes late in my Honda Accord without any chains or cables and no surprise any excuse there is not to show up, there's a little snow, it's not a blizzard but since quest draws peoples blood and performs other important tests I thought for sure they would be there but I thought wrong. read more

Quest Diagnostics - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Grass Valley, California

It is unbelievable that the last four times I have went to Quest for bloodwork for myself or a family member, not once have they been able to do it. Every time, there is a problem and I have to go back three or four times to get it done. They have lost the blood order, they have canceled an appointment that I made, they have told me that I need an appointment, yet wouldn't let me make one in the office. Or the last time it was: "Surprise! There's a new office policy- no walk-ins after 3:30". One time, they even lost my son's blood, and he had to redo a test! The incompetence and the complete lack of ease in which to get bloodwork done is so frustrating, and unfortunately since my doctor wants it done there, we are stuck going there multiple times for a simple blood test. The only thing you can rely on, is that you have to go back about four times to get your test done. It's ridiculous. read more

yea, the wait was long if you don't make an appointment. it was long because there was one woman working there at that time. I give this a 4 out of 5 because when I was getting my blood drawn I was starting to pass out and the woman working there lisa was very quick and prompt and took the situation very professionally. I do understand that it is her job to do that but she made me feel very calm and helped me get back to normal and I really appreciated that. thank you Lisa! read more

The Staff at this location is awesome! I checked in ahead of my appointment (25 minutes) and they took me right in! Everyone was so pleasant and professional. I love Grass Valley!!! read more

The staff are so rude. If you do not make an appointment ahead of time there is a confusing intake process that the on-site staff micromanage. Essentially, the phlebotomist on staff at this location the day I came in and logged in for a "stand by appointment," said that standby is "when they feel like serving you." That might be after their lunch or coffee break, as was explained to me in choice words. The computer you check in on does not state that stand by is that lose of a concept. When I asked to speak to the manager, the woman helping me said, "I am speaking on behalf of the manager." Customer service 101, if your customer interaction has escalated to the point of your customer asking for the manager, a true professional will oblige. Nasty. read more

I have small and deep veins. The phlebotomists at my doctor's office can never find them. So, when I need blood tests, I always go directly to Quest. But not all Quests are the same. The one located on Sierra College Drive has the best, most skilled phlebotomists, in my opinion. They're friendly, efficient, and professional. They've never once missed my vein or had to poke me numerous times or had to switch arms mid-draw. In addition, the office is clean and I love that I can make an appointment online, thus avoiding long wait times. I can't say enough good things about this Quest. read more

This place has incredibly rude, aggressive and entitled technicians. Nearly every response had a tone of negativity and annoyance.I've never felt such blatant disrespect when my demeanor was willing, receptive and kind towards someone. When I said something to my brother about my experience he noted the exact same experience when he went for labs recently too! He said he felt like the tech was argumentative and angry for no apparent reason as well. She must hate her job or enjoy mistreating people. I believe each person is worthy of being treated with respect and kindness. If I could help anyone by making another choice, please do. This operation is seriously lacking in service, care and compassion for very basic read more

Grass Valley, 300 Sierra College. Make sure you don't get the fat phlebotomist. She was unfriendly, curt, made no eye contact whatsoever, and left a bruise the size of my thumb (showed up later, not at that moment). I had to have a sedated procedure a few days later (which involved a needle insertion), and the nurses saw my bruise and said, "wow, somebody did a number on you, didn't they?" I've had another phlebotomist there who was just great. But the one I had today is a trainwreck. read more

Fast, friendly service. I took my 11 year old here to get some labs done and she was nervous because of all the negative reviews, but they were open before school so we decided to give them a try. I only had to wait a minute or two before Tammy took us into the back. She was very friendly and great with my daughter. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes. My choice was either here or the hospital. . . .well I wanted to avoid the hospital. Came here after they opened back up after lunch (11:30-12:30) and the lady told me hold on and went into the restroom with the door open. She was in their for about 2 min and told me to go into room 2. I realized she NEVER WASHED HER HANDS!!!! SHE proceeded to draw my blood and I saw a plump vein (I would know, I'm a registered nurse). She failed to poke it, so she FISHED for it in such a painful way. I'm not a baby (I've got several tattoos) but she did a poor job and I told her to go to the other arm. She asked me if I drank water today. . . . Uh yes, in fact almost 2 liters because I work out rigorously. I was such a dummy for not reprehanding her about hand washing, was worried she'd hurt me. . . .whelp, live and learn. . . . Don't come here! Go to the hospital, they have better cleanliness. read more

This use to be a fairly good lab, not any more. Of course it all depends on who they have minding the clinic. I went here about 6 months ago and the guy that was employed there was awesome, probably the easiest blood test I had ever had. So naturally I went back and the woman that attempted to help me didn't really have a clue. First she said they didn't do that test, no they did it but it had to be done before 11:00 AM, no wait I'll look up the code, oh we don't use that lab... you get the idea. read more

Unbelievable! I have a big, nasty, purple bruise the size of a small lemon on my arm. I don't usually complain about customer service because i know everyone has a bad day here and there, but the gal at quest was just plain rude. Once the needle was in my arm she started moving it all over the place. I have a high pain tolerance, but it was almost unbearable. She was curt, unprofessional, and obviously hates her job. I will never ever go back again. Had i read these yelp reviews beforehand, i would have went someplace different. read more

The phlebotomist was super unprofessional. She was unfriendly from the start. I tried to check in with her to see if she was just having g a bad day, but she continued to be rude. While she was setting up to draw my blood, she was chewing gum loudly with her mouth open. I told her that I had a hard time with needles and she gave little empathy or support. She also seemed to hurt me unnecessarily by wiggling the needle around in my arm every time she changed tubes. There were eight tubes, total, and so it was an ordeal. I had difficulty staying silent and still. I have had my blood drawn many times, and on several occasions at this Quest location. None of these issues have come up before, which is the only reason I am not giving them only one star. read more

This was a very unpleasant experience. I was sent for some prenatal testing, my doctors office said I could go to their one in office but they were closed on the weekend and when the day finally came that I had time to get the testing done I just went to this one since it was closer (My OB said any quest would take me). Now one issue was I didn't have my insurance card which I COMPLETELY understand. I didn't have my printout. However the first reaction you have when you receive anyone patient or customer is not rudely asking them why your doctor didn't send you to their lab. It's not good practice to treat your possible patient like their interrupting your day even though NO ONE was in there. Also, I think it may be easier to get someone's blood if you don't have inappropriately long fake nails. I recommend ANY other quest (the next one I went to was very kind). read more

Unknowledgeable blood Technician that had problems reading a simple blood test requested by my doctor. One blood draw would have handled the test, but she wanted to know if I wanted to come back for the second test? I questioned the second draw and in reviewing the computer again she agreed that it was only 1 blood draw. She then exclaimed that nobody told her? I could not believe what she said as she was the person on the computer and with my paper work. I was also upset that after touching the mouse, the key board, dirty paper work- she did not feel that it was a necessity to wash her dirty hands. Yes she finally put on gloves to draw the blood, yet this act of uncleanliness turned me off. I had an appointment, but if I had not been vigilant. My appointment would not have mattered. I saw around 4 customers leave in disgust. I have experienced rudeness in the past, but not at this particular visit. I do see incompetence with the staff and that is the main reason why I have not been to Quest for a few years. Calling and speaking to management does not help. I do not enjoy writing bad reviews, but this is the exception. Going to Quest is a depressing unforgettable experience. read more

Very unhappy woman at the front desk. Her behavior was shocking. No "Hello" or "How are you?" Instead she barked instructions at my "Hello" and smile. "Insurance Card and Order." then she interrupted and talked over me when I tried explain my situation. The office was not crowded: 4 people including me, no reason to be so stressed out and mean. For a moment I considered telling the phlebotomist about it, but it was obvious she wasn't happy either. Not unkind, but totally detached, silent for the most part, and no eye contact. I do not expect to be babied at a lab, but some people going there are sick and worried... especially elders. Common courtesy and professionalism should be a given, I know it is at My job. Maybe it is something going on with management that makes the staff so disgruntled, but where was management? Pretty sure I would have gotten a different reception if the boss had been there. The last time I went there I got a call a day later to come back in because they did not have the correct vessel to process my urine sample....Seriously? I didn't report it, because Things Happen, but today was just too much. Next time I will sit at the hospital and wait 5 times longer because at least they treat patients like humans and oh yeah....customers! read more

I was next - 3 min on screen. 2 appointments come in, and I've waited maybe 20-30 minutes, and they summon me to the desk and say an hour, they don't take walk-ins - make an appointment on the website. Well I WAS ON the website, I explain, and it said walk-ins were OK for this office, yet I tried to MAKE an APPOINTMENT and it wouldn't register my selection. No message or indication why. I checked the graph of average traffic times and went early without breakfast as instructed. Mind you there was 1 ONE! other person waiting when I signed in they took my temp, gave me a green sticker and I was first on the screen with a 3 minute wait. THEY SAID NOTHING about an excessive wait or having to go on the site when I arrived. So, after I agree to wait up to an hour, 10 minutes later, my name drops off the top of the screen (while there are later walk-ins) and they ask again who didn't make an appointment. They can not take walk-ins. I ask why my name is gone and they say too bad not today - I've waited there about 40 minutes already. I fasted and am PISSED wasted more than 2 hours on the trip. Office on Sierra College. They also couldn't find orders for at least 2 other patients during my wasted time. read more

I know health care professionals are under a lot of pressure these days, but I don't see any reason for this....according to their website and phone message they are open Mon - Friday starting at 7 am for walk-ins. They recommend 7 - 8 for vulnerable people. I went in last Friday morning at 7:30 am and they were closed though website said open. So I tried again today. I got there before 8 am. There was no one at reception so I registered on the computer provided. Then someone walked out and asked if I had an appointment. I said I had an order from my doctor and was a walk-in. There was no one else in the waiting room. She said they only took walk-ins until 8 am (though there was nothing indicating that anywhere). I said I had been there since before 8. She said "It's 8:01 now and we've already have done 10 and aren't doing anymore" and walked away. I've had that same woman draw blood in the past and she is not a nice woman. I'll go somewhere else and just hope her manager teaches her how to interact with people. read more

This lab is understaffed to just mention a few items like, you can't get through to speak to anyone on the phone, their website pushes you out 2-3 weeks for a simple blood draw. We experienced a hour and forty minuet wait and still did not get our blood drawn. We were there when it opened the whole time there was only one person that had an appointment and that person waited 20 minuets. Alot of visiting with the patients which if you didn't have a full room of people waiting to be seen might be ok but they lacked professionalism. read more

I have gone to Sierra Nevada hospital labs for my blood tests since I have been here and now Quest had bought out the labs at the hospital.. I have always had trouble with Quest every time I use them. I will go out of my way not to any more. The first time was in Fresno. They didn't have small needles because they were "too expensive". I have had breast cancer and the blood needs to be taken out of my hand. After poking many times they were unable to get any. The next time was at the behest of Mercy Hospital when I got my hip replaced and Quest was just rude. Now, I go to the Sierra Nevada Hospital and Quest has bought out their hematology department. They charged me for a procedure that I have had done for six years at no cost. I think that they neglected to bill my supplemental insurance. (I have Medicare). I called to correct this and the wait was 10 minutes. Their customer service is terrible and I will not use them any more. read more

Quest lab techs do a good job - however they often have little or no front desk support - and costs? OMG! DO NOT EVER , EVER, EVER give them your debit card to pay your bill - if you return to the lab for another test, they will - without updating you - withdraw the money from your bank account to pay the recent bill in full! Wait for the bill to come then if you can't pay in full - call for a payment plan - Again BEWARE! They will continue to send your bills with "pay (the full amount) upon receipt" in red print and add a warning that if the bill is not paid by the "due date" they will send it to collections - NOTE they DO NOT GIVE ACTUAL DUE DATE on the bills! We need to go back to our hospital labs and dump Quest in our area. Bill for a minor possible yeast infection? Quest bills for over $600! Thanks to insurance reduced to $300 - but still - really? Never again - will just go to the pharmacy and get the OTC med. Argh! read more
