I switched my appointment to this location last minute after reading the Yelp reviews of the one-starred wild west basement 801 Chevy Chase location. This facility is small but clean and the staff friendly. The phlebotomist Mike was excellent, very friendly and extremely good at his job! People always have trouble finding my veins and I end up bruised and battered. I warned him it was going to be tough and he said he wasn't worried then proceeded to locate my vein by touch and not sight and had my blood flowing out within a minute! Amazing! They tell people to call for an appointment on their automated system but that it gives you first available only but that's BS. Go online and schedule your appointment for whenever you want! Parking is free for 90 minutes with validation. read more

About 6 months ago I came here to get my blood drawn and for my own safety & the safety of the phlebotomist I informed her that I have a serious irrational fear of needles. I told her I may go into panic, move to quick, or feel extremely lightheaded. Her response to me: how old are you? I responded saying 21. She had the AUDACITY to say "aren't you a little too old to be scared of needles" ... I was in SHOOK. I wanted to get out of there so quickly. I had a ton of labs ordered from my doctor and decided to split them into two visits - fasting and non fasting. I had both Anna and Blanca and they are both SO SWEET. They both knew my name on my second visit and Anna (who had helped me the day before) waved from the back as I walked through. Also both got the needle in right away with no issue. Never thought I'd have a positive review for a blood draw. I had an appt for 2:30 one afternoon and was in immediately. And walked in the next morning at 8 am and waiting maybe 5 minutes. read more

This was the worst experience. The line was very long and the staff were so rude to everyone. After over 1.5 hours of waiting, I had to forward the lab order from my doctor because I hadn't been provided a hard copy by my doctors office. The receptionist told me it would take 15 minutes (?!) to receive my email and I ended up waiting an extra half hour before she said she still didn't have it. Really horrible experience to be dealing with when waiting for medical labs which is not a great experience anyhow. Went in for a scheduled blood test and was well treated and didn't wait long. The office was clean and organized, with plenty of warning for social distancing, facial coverings and temperature was taken. I normally have "shy" veins, but my phlebotomist, Latonia was super quick and gentle and it done before I knew. No pain or bruising, overall very pleasant, professional experience. Visited this lab for the first time today. Took my mom to get her labs done. I was looking and looking for an appointment online and was not successful. I ran across this lab on their website and liked that they opened up at 6:30 am on a Saturday morning. When we got there lab was full. Unfortunately, because we had no appointment, we had to go on standby. Considering we were on standby, we were called in sooner than I expected. We were taken care of by phlebotomist by the name of Michelle. If I were to solely rate this lab based on Michelle's customer service, she would receive 5 stars. She was friendly, courteous and most of all, I appreciate she communicated with my mom in her primary language, Spanish. I will definitely consider this lab again for future needs. This place is only interested in getting people in and out as quickly as possible. Their check in system is widely misleading - when we checked in it said a five minute wait, then 15 mins later went to an 8 min wait - eventually we waited 30 mins. My daughter has had a tough time with medical issues and gets very anxious. All the tech did was say 'keep your arm still' no empathy or patience. While I was trying to calm my girl down the tech inserted the needle quickly while she was still upset - she just seemed to want to get us out of there. The result is a poorly done draw which has caused a lot of pain swelling and bruising (see photo three days later!) be careful of this place - they seem to just want to make money. read more

Made an on line appt for lab work through the quest homepage. No confirmation number was available. I went to the incorrect site which was closed yet still shows on maps as quest. Quickly I went to this site and was asked at the reception desk if I had an appt. I explained it had been made at their closed location and was told"an appt there doesn't give you one here. That sites been closed for years". No offer at this point to check their computer system. I asked to speak with a manager and was told I could speak with Lilit Vardanyan. She is not the manager but is the highest ranked person here today". When we explained the issue and that the labs were necessary for a Monday surgery she asked for a copy of the doctors orders or to prove we had the appt. When I attempted to pull up the prescription and appt on my phone I realized I was not on Wi-Fi and asked for a password. I was told they had no internet access. Hmmmm this makes it impossible to pull up your website and prove an appt time. Lilit agreed to get us taken care. Her first attempt at phlebotomy was unsuccessful and she said you should have drank lots of water. She was irritated that our trust was waning and said " I did you a favor. Do you want to go somewhere else?". We agreed that having a phlebotomist that was pissed off was not a good choice. Once home we checked the appt and realized it was at this particular site. Had anyone offered to even check their system they would have seen it. Terrible customer service and poor skills coupled with an angry staff makes this site a poor choice for labs. Go anywhere else. Had a 9:15am appointment and have been standing in the hallway for 45 mins to 'wait for a phlebotomist to take temperature' along with about 10 other patients. No one has come out to address us and the line has not moved at all. One person just left due to frustration. He was here over an hour without being helped. I would suggest you avoid this location and go to Burbank. I should have done the same. I understand it is a tough time right now however steps need to be taken to ensure patients are being addressed upon arrival. Can someone tell me what the point is in making an appointment if any random walk-in can go before you? Patricia & Oralia took care of me fantastically! Patricia was at the front desk and did everything she could to get the billing aspect handled. She and Oralia made multiple phone calls and I got a strong sense that they're very dedicated to providing excellent service. Less than 90 minutes later, my blood was drawn and I walked out a happy client.. and didn't have to pay for parking either (free if less than 90 minutes)! I have been to a lot of Quest Diagnostic locations, and this one in Glendale, was about the worst I've been to. First, the young woman at the front desk is ridiculously slow and borderline rude. She wasn't sure my insurance was accepted, and asked me to sit down until she verified. Meanwhile, 30 minutes passed, I get up to ask if my insurance was accepted, and her reply was, "Oh....yeah. Have a seat". Um, excuse me? On and on I wait, and each time I try to ask how much longer the wait will be, that girl is away from her desk. It appeared there was only ONE phlebotomist working! Seriously? When it was finally my turn, 1 1/2 hours later, the girl who put the needle caused me to nearly jump out of the chair from pain. I had a technician today, ANA, who was also very good-she got the blood out of me with one try! I really find this particular center to be VERY VERY GOOD, and i have dealt with one other, which shall remain nameless which was awful!! By the way, I NEVER make appointments--too complicated and confusing-I go at 6;54AM and am out of there by 7;20. I don't have to wait more than l0 minutes. read more

I came to drop off a specimen which is not supposed to be left in the drop off containers by the outside door. It was past 5 mins of their office hrs. This place is horrible. I won't be coming back. I came here bc my guys at Glendale Hospital were on lunch. When I got there.. there was only 1 person ahead of me. I waited over an hr. When I walked in I told the lady I had to pee.. she did everything under the sun BUT give me a cup so I could. I held my pee for over an hr. Then when they finally called me the lady says "why didn't you ask for a cup?!" SMMFH THEN, she drew my blood and was heavy handed and every time she would put a new vile in she pushed the needle further and further into my vein. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Hands down the best quest diagnostics experience I've ever had. I always dread going to quest bc the service is normally subpar and there is no sense of urgency but this one is just unbelievable. I got here at 6:30 in the morning, without an appointment and I was literally walking out at 6:41. There are people helping you every step of the way, from the check in process to the waiting room into the patient room where they draw blood. They were all so sweet and so kind and even having conversation with me about my day, but moving so quickly and efficiently. Normally the experiences at these places are quite cold and not personable, but this one is different. I don't live in this area, but because of the experience I had here today, I am beyond willing to drive back here. They genuinely made my day better. Major shoutout to Lilly and Jill. They were SO kind and very good at their job. Even the needle poking was a breeze bc of how delicate Jill was with the needle.
