This place is the worst. I had two appointments this morning for my two needle-phobic children and purposely made appointments online a week in advance so that I could avoid having to sit in the waiting room with my stressed-out, nervous kids. No one likes having blood work done and Quest Diagnostics seems to have no regard for their patients and does not see a problem keeping people waiting all morning long. There is no receptionist here, just two iPads where you check yourself in. Due to a keying error I made entering my son's birth date, his appointment "never appeared in the system" and was totally disregarded. When my daughter's name was finally called after 40 minutes of waiting, I asked if the technician could take care of both kids at the same time. She got rude and nasty with me and told me I had to wait as a walk-in patient since I made a mistake entering my son's birthdate, despite my already having a confirmed appointment via email, so obviously his name and appointment were already in the system!!! I said that was ridiculous and told her that was horrible customer service. She decided then that she wasn't going to see either of my children and ordered us back out to the waiting room to wait for another technician to see us. She basically refused to do her job because I pushed back on their horrible appointment system and total disregard for their customers. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS HORRIBLE FACILITY. The other two technicians who saw us 20 minutes later were kind and apologetic for the mix up, but this behavior and treatment is totally unacceptable. What is the point of making an online appointment in advance if you do not honor it? And the first technician was an absolute witch for putting my kids through the prolonged, nightmarish torture of waiting for a blood draw and then refusing to even see them when it was finally their turn. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Do not come here if you are a walk-in or don't want your day ruined. Called several nearby Quest locations to reach a representative, ask questions regarding routine bloodwork and make an appointment. No one ever answered the phone and I was unable to leave a message as all the mailboxes were full. Decided to test my luck with a walk-in and boy was I greatly disappointed by the experience although the reviews left here should have told me something. There was no one on line but when the employee at the front greeted me she only cared to learn if I had an appointment. When I stated I was a walk in she said they would not see me and refuse me service unless I made an appointment via the website or calling a specific number (not the location). After arguing that no where is it officially listed that you can't be a walk-in, I went on to the patient portal I was instructed by the employee to go to. Mind you, we only learned this information once arriving at the office. The portal said you can make a walk in appointment and that it was a 5-8 min wait. I received a confirmation code and only needed to wait a few min till my appointment time. When I told the employee I had a code to check in, she said "but that's still considered a walk-in" and they won't see me. Two more employees watched this unbelievable debate go down regarding walk-in vs. appointment. Even after having an official appointment, they wouldn't even attempt to check me in. During this time, several patients lined up in a cramped hallway waiting to be seen. I witnessed at least 5 of them get turned away as walk-ins and many of them calling their doctor while they were there saying "you told me I could come here as a walk-in." The miscommunication regarding Quest policies was mind blowing. So many believing walk-ins were acceptable because it even says so on the website they are but for some reason Forest Hills will not accept you unless you've booked an official appointment with confirmation. Asked to speak to a manager and they completely ignored us after asking several times "who's in charge here?" The employees there are horrible - ignore you, rude, won't look you in the eyes when speaking to them, unhelpful, unfriendly and overall some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Refuse to visit another Quest ever again. All their locations have terrible reviews so as a company clearly they are doing something wrong! I strongly advise Quest to update their website to reflect your policies and stop wasting people's time and effort! read more

Do not go here if you have a toddler. Came here the other day around 4 pm. They only had one phlebotomist on site. My wife and I were holding down our kid. She couldn't draw blood at all from both arms. After few mins of poking around and our kid screaming. She stopped the procedure and said. Come here between 7 am and 3 pm. When we have more staff to hold down your kid. Best way to do this is to give us the heads up that it might be challenging to draw blood from kids this age. Would you like to come back because of so and so. I would've accepted that. Overall. We ended up going elsewhere where this was a piece of cake! Stay away!!! read more

Honestly every quest lab I go to always has rude miserable technicians. I had to take my one year old son for his bloodwork and was already stressed taking him outside during this pandemic. We got in fairly quickly and the tech with short bright red hair calls us in. Gives no other direction other than sit with my son and have his arms both available. The only reason I even got that much direction from her was because I asked how she wanted him. She then sticks him and catches an attitude saying I was supposed to hold his arm down, though she never provided me any direction other than sit. I then said ok should I hold him down now and she catches a bigger attitude and says "it's too late now" and leaves the room without another word. A second tech who has socialization skills comes in and acknowledges my son as a human being and then takes his blood. So he is stuck a second time while the first miserable technician holds his arm down. I don't understand why this wasn't the process done the first time. Or provide me with direction I never took a baby for bloodwork and didn't know what to expect. It's not hard to act like a human and have some compassion. At least say " ok I wasn't able to draw blood properly let me get a tech to help and hold his arm I will be right back". Honestly don't bother coming here. So upset my son was hysterical crying which I expected but he should not have had to suffer twice. Furthermore there was about 12 people in the waiting room which though everyone was trying to be spaced out, doesn't work well when people have to walk by each other and check in. read more

Do yourself a favor and don't come here. The phlebotomist/secretary is completely incompetent. She can attend to no more than 3-4 people an hour. You will wait here for at least an hour whether or not you have an appointment. 2 hour wait is the average. If you have time to waste come here, otherwise go elsewhere even of its father. I must admit I read the reviews and I was terrified to come to this location. As I arrived there is a long hallway with 3 turns that leads you to the office. Upon entering there is no one at the front desk, just an electronic device that allows you to sign in. The waiting area is large and spacious. There is a t.v and conveniently has your name and the amount of time you've waited after signing in. Luckily I had a 12:45 appointment. I waited for about five minutes before being called. My nurse was very nice. I am not afraid of needles so it was very pleasant. She made small talk and made me feel comfortable. So my experience was pleasant. Completely opposite from the reviews. read more

I made an appt online with quest diagnostics in forest hills as it is the closest to my apt. After reading the reviews, I was a little concerned but decided to see for myself. I had an appt at 10am. Sat When I arrived, there were about 10 people in the room. There was a sign up sheet, and based on the sign up sheet, it looked like they were behind but I signed in and sat down. The room was big, bright and clean. The tv volume was just high enough to hear. A couple of people came in and went to ask-what looks like a receptionist desk-questions and all you can hear is the girl say just sit down and wait to be called. She was a little abrasive. Then my name got called and the technician told me to go the area that everyone thinks is reception. I gave her my perscription or test thing and she asked me a couple questions and then she told me to go to room 4 and she'd be right in. Other than some bandaid papers on the floor, the room was clean. after a couple minutes and 4 vials of blood later, im done. It's 10:20am. Overall, I gave it 4 stars for cleanliness, quick service if you have an appt and efficiency. The reviews that complain about the noise in the waiting room and the delays in service aren't necessarily bad things. Those are negative side effects of public service centers. As for the untrained, unfriendly lab technicians, i didn't have an issue with that. My technician was polite. They aren't there to be friendly. They are there to take samples of your blood. Let them do their job and leave the socializing for somewhere else. read more

The Russian lady in the front is so unprofessional and rude af!!! I'm not sure how these people get hired when there are others who could be more professional than them. I had a great experience with the phlebotomist on duty, Amy. She was friendly and efficient. Amy was the first phlebotomist to draw blood from me on the first shot in my entire 40 year life. She was amazing. Definitely make an appointment on a week day to come or else the wait will be very long as a walk in. read more

Would have been in & out in 4 minutes if the person in front of me didn't take 10 minutes to check in using the e-pad. How hard can it be to put a needle into my arm?!I had a huge purple bruise on my arm for a month. my vein was right there like how can you miss it and put it in my artery. my artery was swelling up at the spot and had to yell at her to take the needle out. horrible !! read more

Impossible to speak to a human being about scheduling an appointment, the automated system just takes you around in circles until it randomly hangs up on you, the website scheduling system doesn't work either or is down for maintenance, the wait times are appalling (even WITH an appointment your doctor sets up) and there's little to no assistance for terrified toddlers and their already anxious parents. Avoid this lab location at all cost, don't waste your time here, expect to wait for 3 hours at least. Came here for a a blood test, didn't make an appointment, I tried to make one, but no one picks up the phone ever. So if you don't have appt, it should be first come first serve; NO. I waited for 3 hour already, and asked the nurse how much longer, she said they take appointments first, as long as there are ppl with appointments, I'll have to wait until all those ppl are seen first. Doesn't make sense. I understand the ppl come before me with appointments should be seen before me, then those who come afterwards should be seen after me!! Otherwise I'll have to be there the whole day!!! And the nurses were very rude, impatient. How long does it take someone to get your blood drawn, anyone they took in came out half an hour later, then they went In to do whatever they were doing for another half to one hour. That's why the wait there is always so long...if ppl who work there are more efficient, they would probably finish everyone within a short period of time. Obscene wait time. It is sad and shocking that this can actually be allowed. This place should shut down if each person needs to wait at least two hours to be called in by one very slow person. The heat turns off at 5, so the rest of us waiting, horrified, are freezing in the waiting room. I am truly saddened that this is what we have to resort to for necessary bloodwork.
