I have had excellent service there and the 2 employees, woman & man are very cordial, attentive and helpful. I was disappointed in the Forest Hills Quest office on 7/13/26 so I made an appointment for the one in Ridgewood on Freshpond Road. I was very satisfied with the service including the employee's attitude. I was called in exactly @ my scheduled appointment time, The employee was gentle with the blood test and left no bruise on my right arm. What's the point of an appointment for a blood draw if the provider doesn't keep it? Appointment today was 9:10 AM. We checked in then waited in a near-full waiting room until 9:48. 38 minutes seemed like an even longer time for my son as he wasn't permitted to eat prior to the test. They seem to be double or triple booking, resulting in burning extensive amounts of time of their patients just to maximize their profits. This location is unacceptable. There have 4 people after us that have came in and gone. That is no way to do business. I am stuck with quest because of insurance reasons but I wish I could have used lab Corp. I accompanied my wife to get a blood test at Quest 61-22 Fresh Pond Road, MV for 8am today Friday, May 16, 2025. We were 20 minutes early. The scanner was not working for us. All others in the waiting room did not scan in as yet. I knocked on the door several times since there was no receptionist there. A women came out to say, "can't I tell when the door is locked, we are in consultation?" I mentioned that only a few of us tried to scan and the scanner wasn't working. She said to call the company. I said that she represented Quest and should be more helpful as a health provider. She did have the knack to work the scanner and helped to scan patients in, as a receptionist should have in the first place. I know as a senior citizen that the world uses technology that is not always user friendly, but being discourteous to senior patients is a never appropriate. Another woman had called in for her appt for 7:40am. It did not come up on the scan. A young gentleman came out and we asked him. He said she was on the list, but why didn't they call her before the 8am appointments? He commiserated in the technology issues. I had a great experience at Quest Diagnostics in Forest Hills on February 18th because of my interaction with Kayla, a fantastic phlebotomist. Kayla provides caring and concern when administering the blood tests. She is knowledgeable, competent, and friendly, Her communicative skills are exceptional, and she shows high regard for the person she is servicing and assisting. My doctor ordered a very last minute glucose test for me at 37 weeks pregnant. I had no choice but to walk in to the closest Quest. The night prior I came in asking if they thought I'd be able to be seen if I walked in at opening (6:30am) the next day because there were no appointments anywhere. The guy was super nice and said yes. I came in the next at 6:30 on the dot. It was empty except for two men waiting to be called. I told the woman my situation and he let out a big sigh, clearly annoyed. She said she'd have to check if she had the drink and for me to wait a minute. 10 min later she comes back and says she can take me. I was extremely grateful and thanked her. When we get to the back she was extremely rude and slammed the drink on the table "see, you got the last one. That's what appointments are for, so they send us the drink." I explained the situation to her as well and was met with another rude response "please, last minute appointment? The doctor won't get the results for at least a week with the holidays and Covid". Spoiler alert: we got the test results the next day. It was a 3 hour test which means I went back 3 more times to get blood drawn and each time she was extremely rude and rushed. Complaining about how she had no help and basically yelled at me for not "following the rules of the test" which I didn't even know existed. This isn't my first rodeo with this test. The rest of the staff was extremely nice and friendly but this particular woman was miserable and really needs some lessons in customer service. Especially when doing a job like this. I made an appointment online for a pre-employment urine test. I get to the place 15 minutes before my appointment time and on a mid July day it was actually a bit cooler outside than it was inside. The young woman at the desk said she would check me in. I gave her my name and my 11:30 appointment time. I proceeded to sit in the waiting area for the next 40 minutes, sweating the entire time. I watched as the couple of people who were there before me got seen, and I also watched as people who came in after me also got seen. Finally, a Quest tech came out and saw me as the only person left in the Waiting Area. She asked me what I was doing there. I told her I had an 11:30 appointment I made online and it was now almost Noon. I also told her that the receptionist had said she would check me in but that clearly hadn't happened. She took me in and I got the test done. In all fairness, the tech was pleasant and professional. I was done in less than 5 minutes. It's a shame that the woman at the Front Desk is too incompetent to get someone checked in when she says she is doing so. read more

The way the lady at the desk talks to patients and about patients when they leave is completely disgusting and unacceptable. I'm sorry for all the bad feedback but I had my bloodwork done today and it was an excellent service. The front desk lady was very courteous and nice. The waiting was less than 5 min. I was seen right away, done the process seamlessly and professionally. The waiting room is clean and the space between chairs (only 4 and just for patients) are far apart. My 1 year old needs blood work so I reserved a time spot here since I had good experience with my 2 year old. The front desk nurse asked ME to hold my son down while she draws blood. In my mind, I thought, this can't be right; They had two nurses held down my 2 year old and this nurse wants MY help to hold down my 1 year old? I should've listened to myself because this went BADLY! She was poking and poking my 1 year old to find the vein. She almost got it but because I was inexperience in holding down my son, my son's arm moved, 'causing her to lose it again. THEN she finally called over a professional assistance. But it was too late. My son was crying like crazy at this point and his other arm has even smaller veins. If you really need to go there with a toddler, ask for two nurses to help. read more

HORRIBLE. This place is absolutely terrible. Staff is beyond NASTY and cruel to their patients. It's honestly just so shocking and unreal. No mannerisms or respect at all. I had my blood drawn three times in two hours. First time was fine until an hour passed by and an uncomfortable lumpy bruise was forming where blood was drawn. Second time was even more horrifying. This woman showed absolutely no compassion (this goes for all the staff). She tried to locate a vein in my other arm and kept telling me that she couldn't find it but still decided to shove and poke me so hard with the needle. I usually am fine with drawing blood but this time I have never felt so uncomfortable and safe. With all the poking I couldn't help but start tearing up and had to ask her to please stop. When she yanked out the needle and threw it on the prep table I told her I don't know what kind of business they have going on here but it's ridiculous to just torture someone like this. She just stormed out of the room and shouted for someone else to go draw my blood because she "didn't want me as a patient." Someone else came and took my blood which was better but still seemed VERYYYYYY inexperienced. Third time I drew blood, I had a new phlebotomist. No manners at all. He way of telling me to go in the room was, "get in there." I sat down so furious and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse. This lady was coughing up a storm. Every time she coughed she didn't cover her mouth. What was even more disgusting was that she coughed right into her hands while preparing my needle. Absolutely unsanitary. I told her to change her gloves and she got so angry. I assume because of that she got joy out of poking me around with the needle as if the first two times weren't enough. I left this place feeling horrible. These women working there today do not deserve to be doing what they do. Treating every single patient in there like wild animals. Only after the 10 minute gap time will they consider taking a walk-in patient. I guess this is just another bad review . First time going to this place I was pregnant and had a scheduled glucose test but unfortunately they couldn't find me in the system and turned me away. The woman also seemed annoyed. The second time I went for a drug screening and was also turned away. I honestly think they try harder to turn people away then to actually do the job. Funny how I complained about it to my sister and she said she was also turned away while trying to take her daughter for time sensitive blood test. This place is terrible. My daughter had a appointment today and I mistakenly thought that it was at 830am. We were more than willing to come back at our appointment time. However, the person who checked us in explained that since it was very quiet, we could be seen. She was very professional. However, the phlebotomist came from the back and scolded her for checking us in. The phlebotomist proceeds to call my daughter (15yrs old) to the desk for more information, I know that my daughter will not have the answers to her questions so I stand next to her. The phlebotomist rudely tells me that she doesn't need me and shoos me away. Just before she drew my daughter's blood, my daughter was nervous and said "will it hurt?" She responded by saying " it's a needle what do you think" This was horrible experience for my daughter and myself. On 12/6 at 11:30am I was pressured by the phlebotomist at 6122 Fresh Pond Road in Middle Village to pay a Quest system-generated estimate of patient responsibility BEFORE having my bill run through my insurance provider. I know from prior experience that this often forces patients to chase down refunds from Labs, Hospitals, and Doctors. I also didn't have any outstanding invoices with Quest. When I refused to prepay and also refused to be denied service, the phlebotomist complained that she needed to go on break and "perhaps" the site manager would choose to assist me. From that moment forward I felt uncomfortable and unsafe, but I could not easily cancel the appointment, so I had to respectfully hold my ground to get reasonable care & professional assistance. This should NEVER have happened. Quest does NOT state in its scheduling app that you must prepay any portion of your bill before it is run through your insurance. I do NOT recommend this Quest location as it appears to be understaffed and unprofessional in how it treats clients. read more

Very rude staff. The website and the person on the phone said they do walk-ins but when I, and a couple other people there said we don't have appointments, they said no walk-ins allowed. That's very disorganized to me, especially for a lab. Also, a lot of non-English speakers go there and i saw that when one didn't understand something, they repeated it by yelling at them or giving attitude.
