I had a little trouble with my card earlier today and I thought that I had to reschedule my appointment due to issues with the system. Briana (float worker) and Isabel explained to me that I can get a bill sent out to me and that they were able to still see me for my visit! They saved my life and saved me another head ache of returning to the office another time to get my lab work completed. Both Isabel and Briana are excellent at what they do and went above expectations to ensure me that I was still able to be seen! No one provides customer service like the way they do! Why even bother offering walk in services? I sat for two hours before giving up because I was fasting and starting to get dizzy. There were other people there who had waited three hours and still hadn't been seen and I was fifth on the list still. I don't think they took a single walk in by almost 11am. read more

Accessibility: wheelchair accessible parking fairly close to the entrance, and an elevator inside to get to other floors. Once inside Quest (3rd floor), there is a tablet/iPad to check in on, but there is a tv screen that will cycle through different instructions, including one that tells you how to check in if you are visually impaired (Swipe 3 fingers across the tablet screen in any direction). Experience: I came in as a walk in, and the check in process was pretty easy with a tablet they have set up. I had to wait about 35 minutes on a Tuesday afternoon. I have to have blood draws about 3X/year. I have decided to make this Quest lab in Escondido my go to place. My most recent experience couldn't have been better. I have a slightly complicated blood draw order, but my phlebotomist, Jackie, was careful to understand the instructions, and followed up in the most professional and friendly manner. Because I had to have several "timed" draws, she consistently ensured that I was called back on time, and got the job done. Jackie was very efficient at her job. I think Quest should give her a raise...I hope they have more employees like Jackie. read more

I didn't realize I needed to bring in the lab work paperwork. I believed that the paperwork was submitted from my doctor because they asked if I was using Quest. My appointment was at 12:00. I was seen at 12:06. The women who saw me stated that I would have to have it faxed within 10 minutes of my appointment. However, since I wasn't seen until 12:06, she said I had 4 minutes. I had the absolute best experience with Jose! Probably the easiest, smoothest most positive blood draw I've ever had. I came here for my Function Health blood draw. Jose was so kind and personable. He found my vein immediately and I barely felt the prick. I think the best part is that I didn't feel like a number where nobody talked to me and just wanted me in and out. Jose and I chatted about function health and the positive outcomes patients have had. He filled 10 vials in like 5 mins. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Great experience from start to finish. I made my appointment online today at 11:04am for 11:30am. I arrived at 11:22am and was brought inside for lab work quickly. When you check in (either on your phone or at the check in screen) your name is listed on the TV along with your appointment time and the current time (mentioning this as the person above states there's no "clock"). Everything was clean in the lobby and inside the room. Isabel, my phlebotomist, was excellent and handled getting my blood work completed in a timely manner. She was super sweet as well. I noticed a lot of the negative reviews are from those who didn't make an appointment. Making one online is very easy and I highly suggest it. You can even make it same day as I did. read more

I visited this Quest location today for a desperate fasting blood draw. I had a very good experience. I received excellent customer service. I was a walk-in without an appointment so I was not sure if I would be seen. I waited less than five minutes to be called back and squeezed in. I was in this lab on 11.13 and Jackie was my phlebotomist. I always get a little nervous! I had a huge blood draw for Function Health testing and she was wonderful. I hardly felt a thing. She was happy, made me feel comfortable and conversed with me throughout the appointment. She always let me know what she was doing, and had me confirm that my name was on everything. Seriously this place needs to be shutdown it is a hazard to the community. On average, they would see 4 to 6 people an hour with appointments. In five hours of waiting as a walk in/standby, I was only the second person that they seen. Please listen when I say if you don't have a reservation do not bother waiting unless you don't mind waiting for more than 4 hours. I was here on the same day that Diana was 9/29/2023 and being there, with the special-needs, was very stressful for the other patients, including myself not to mention scary. There was absolutely no one attending the front desk. They really don't care about you as a human being There's no information as to how long you need to wait if you're a walk in person which they call standby but I can promise you it will be 3 to 4 hours minimum unless they close and they never see you. This place was packed with both patients that had an appointment and patience that just walked in. I waited at this place for 1 hour before I thought I'd have better luck at their Encinitas office. It was slightly better ended up waiting there almost 5 hours. Please!!!! SAVE YOURSELF and make an appointment to come back. If you have no appointments, you're waiting 3 to 5 hours easy. read more

I've reviewed another lab in the past and it was negative. Many years ago. I think it's only fair that when I have a better experience I should leave a positive review. I went to Quest today. Had an appointment and check in was really easy. Just scan your QR code and sit down. Despite a waiting room full of people, they called me in less than 5 minutes. Brooklyn was my nurse and she was extremely professional. She asked about which arm to draw from and when I told her my veins are hard to find sometimes, she opted to use a smaller needle. She was informative each step of the way and made the experience pleasant. I'll be going back frequently due to some recent issues and I look forward to receiving professional care from Brooklyn and the team at Quest. If at all possible, book an appointment in advance and you should be in and out quickly. read more

If I could give this place ZERO. I would. Please avoid this place if you have any concern for your health. My mom had an appointment and they made her wait over 3 hours for being 4 mins late. She's a diabetic, couldn't have anything to eat since they were fasting labs. and was almost faint. Then when she got to the back the phlebotomist was digging around and my mom ended up with nerve pain afterward. I now see why this location have so many appointments available. The only people who care are the employees, who are caught between their patients and incompetent management, by design of said management. I'm a Lab Asst myself. I did not tell her. She drew 10 vials w/ a straight needle vs. butterfly. Nobody does that in the huge organization I work for. She's amazing. I came in for a blood test. OUCH!!! That was probably the most painful jab I have ever gotten. So why the five star review? Well, before I go into the details, I want to mention that this was a scheduled appointment. It's always good to schedule appointments for anything. Anyway... - When checking in, there was a kiosk instead of a person at the front desk. Even so, the digital process was quick and simple. - I arrived about 45 minutes early. I wanted to beat the traffic. I guess I over-estimated the timing. Even so, I ended up being seen 25 minutes early. - I have a bad back, so I asked if I can be on my knees instead of sitting in the chair. The nurse (not sure if that's what she was) was fine with it. In fact, she moved the carpet so that I can be on the carpet instead of the hard floor. The situation was unique, and I was at an angle that the nurse might not have been accustomed to. So that might be the reason why my jab was so painful. - The nurse (again, not sure if that's what she was) was nice. We had a good conversation. For me, a person who appears to care makes up for a lot. Plus, the process was quick and simple. Hence the five star review. read more

Making an appointment online is quick and user friendly. You print out a scan code for a kiosk in waiting room. I Had a 8:20am appt on a Thursday. On my way to the office, they sent me an automated mobile text to check in. Just to be safe, I clicked on it on my way up the elevator and I was automatically checked in and no need to use my scan code. I literally walked in the door and they were calling my name! The nurse and her perhaps supervisor overseeing everything were so nice and friendly! It was my first time here, so after inputting all my personal and insurance info so I'm in their system, my blood work was taken, and I was in and out in 15 mins! Thank you, ladies! :) read more

When she takes me to the back I'm telling her my info and I look over and see multiple cups of random peoples pee in the corner of the room. There's NO WAY that is sanitary. Visit on Monday 11/30/20 I did not make an appointment online as the next available one was in January/February 2021. I had to do this for a drug screen/prescreening for work. And usually for those, it will have to be 1-2 days to be completed. For checking in/signing in, they have gloves for you to put on and input your information. Make sure you also bring the paperwork applicable because they will ask you for it. There are 8 single seaters and 1 two seater in the waiting room. You have the option to have them text you when it is your turn, and wait in your car or outside in the hallway. Or wait in the waiting room. Once you make the choice, you cannot ask to then be adapted to text alerts. For anyone doing a prescreening for work, if you have to do a URINE test, they started doing it from 12 PM - 3 PM only (PST). If you go any earlier, you basically have to come back around 12 PM - 3 PM. If you turned out not to be successful the 1st time around, you will need to drink water to try again. I would suggest that you go by the water they provide you since you can only drink up to a certain amount of water prior to doing the test. They have limited personnel working and quite a busy on-flow of reservations and walk-ins. There is a TV that has some interesting content on and off, before showing applicable Quest commercials pertaining to the precautions they are taking during COVID, and a listing of the patients to go in. I came in near 1PM. Failed my first test for not filling up the cup to what they require you to do. Left near 3PM. So make sure you're hydrated enough for the test, but do limit fluid intake to no more than 24 fluid ounces in the 3 hours before you test. Or what the instructions that are given to you are. Basically don't hold expectations if you're a walk-in, bring your applicable paperwork, and you should be good to go. read more

I went today to do a test. I walked in , signed in via the automated system and was assigned a number. I sat down then waited over an hour. The front desk was not staffed. I noticed the people in the waiting room cleared out and filled up three times! I finally stopped a tech when they were calling someone in and they told me there were not taking walk ins. I told her the machine is taking our info ,assigning a number and telling us to wait. She argued with me! No it doesnt'... Half the room got up and left. I then went on line to get an appointment and nothing available for the whole month of september. I can't say one good thing about this place we will see if Im very worried with my employer offering this as a medical facility under the companies insurance.
