Half hour wait after I showed up on time for my appointment, waiting room is crowded with every seat taken, frustrated patients are clustered around the window that you talk through to get in. A woman had waited there without an appointment since 8 am, now it was 10:30. She continued to wait. Phlebotomist puts into the computer that I was a walk-in and was serviced with no wait. I make him correct it. He is trying to fool the superiors into thinking this office is servicing people on time. After that he is snotty and I tell him he is not being constructive. Maybe not a smart thing to do when someone is about to jab you in the arm. They said they were short-staffed that day, ok. read more

A LOVELY FACILITY AND HAVE IT STAFFED WITH GOOD PEOPLE -- Ms Melinda McLemore deserves to be recognized for her great service (I made sure to get her name before I left). I live in San Francisco and have many choice of labs. This one is actually a few miles south of SF - but I would make an effort to go HERE after my experience yesterday. This was my 2nd visit to Quest in D.C. -- I was there once before, perhaps two years ago. I have no relationship to Quest or any of its employees. I was in the Quest offices in Daly City yesterday with my first onset of asthma, which my doc thinks may have been set off my allergies. I had no appointment. I was feeling very run-down after flu and (apparently) asthma. Hadn't slept; all morning in doc's offices. Quest's facility was clean, modern, welcoming. iPad check in and an electronic board that apprises patients of how much longer the wait will be -- GREAT ideas. (My wait at 1 p.m. on Tues was 6 mins). The front desk was staffed by a woman who looked tidy, professional -- and greeted me warmly with a beautiful smile. Immediately made my day better. When it turned out that my test docs did not have the code in the proper location, she made no complaint, just that she was looking for it and - oh! maybe this is it... When the code was hard to read, she didn't heave sighs or seem annoyed in any way...she just kept working on it. When a co-worker entered her space behind her, she noticed it and said "Can I help you?" -- genuinely asking if she could use some help. It turned out that woman was the phlebotomist, and she came over and went through what appeared to be a very long list of codes and helped Melinda select the right one. They worked together very harmoniously -- again, no signs of frustration or anything. The reason I write is that this IS a hard job -- working with people who are sick, many elderly or with little children, in Daly City, you are dealing with patients from all over the world (Filipino, Latino, Chinese, Russian), many of whom may have little English or heavy accents. The right attitude really makes a difference to people who are feelling bad or scared or frustrated. I decided some time ago that if I am going to complain when service is really bad, then I need to PRAISE when service is really good. Melinda McLemore is in a position to make people's day a bit worse -- or better. She chooses better -- that's should be rewarded (one bad apple WILL spoil the whole barrell-- and one smiling, helpful person will change things, too!) read more

I made an appointment in advance for special hours which are reserved for seniors and others with potential immunity issues. I walked in early for my 7:00 AM appointment and it was set up as a cattle call and even though they were wearing masks nobody was observing social distancing. They just crowded around the waiting line. I walked out and I'll never return. read more

Today was at least my 5th visit to Quest Diagnostics on Campus Drive in Pacifica, over the past 3 years. I had several different doctors' orders for lab work, and three of them were several months' and old. Thanks to Jennifer and (I think) Melinda, I was able to catch up on all outstanding orders for labwork, except for the one I wanted to leave there for another month. My blood work was pretty routine, but I had orders for urinalysis from two different doctors in two different (and competing) medical groups, as well as an unusual Album spot urine test, ordered by yet another doctor at one of those group's facilities. The three of us got it all sorted out! I need help catching a urine specimen, and have gratitude and appreciation for having received it at Quest. I never have gotten help at other labs, and usually have had to get it from doctors or nurses where the urine tests are ordered, or have had to get help at home from my family and make a second trip back to labs with specimens. Quest saved me that second trip and saved me time today. Also, I started taking advantage of Quest's online myquest services, which save even more of my time making appointments and getting test results. I am not " one of those" who usually gives rave reviews, but for today's experience, as well as my last two there, I give Quest on Campus Drive in Daly City a rave review! read more

Ok, today was my third time coming here.(1ST:no appointment 1hr wait so I bailed. 2ND 9:30 appointment but i was told its too late for the glucose test so i was sent home after 45 minutes wait). I had a 715 appointment and was called on time. So yay!........ BUT after having 4 vials of blood taken from me and drinking half the bottle of the glucose test drink, i was told I was given the wrong form by my doctor and need to go somewhere else for my blood test... I have been to this location several times with the idea that anyone can have an off day. Three strikes and they are out! I am so done with these people. Last time I went I booked an appointment for 11:30. I arrived at 11:20 just be sure and be on time. At 12:00pm I went up to the sign in window (again) and asked someone politely how long it would be before they could take care of me. They took the sign up sheet and it was " Oh Oh come in" so I did. They asked for my order. I told them my doctor had e-faxed it the day before. They were, "Oh our computer system is down". I ask , from the day before? Don't you have a hard copy printed up? I made an appointment because I'm deathly afraid of needles and was checked in within 5 minutes. The online self check in made everything faster and I was brought back right after handing over my lab form. Matthew drew my blood and he was FANTASTIC! He found my vein right away and only had to poke me once, which is a first for me, and kept me distracted the whole time! I would give it 5 stars if not for the 20 minute wait, but I guess I shouldn't complain because I did not have an appointment. The lady at the front desk was courteous and polite, and instructed me to sign in. I went in on a Monday around 1130, and from the list, it looked like there was at least 5 people ahead of me. It looks like they have a new staff on board, one that is friendly, professional and competent. The gentleman who drew my labs got it in one shot, and didn't do any fishing or poking around for it. Very slow all around. I walked in on a Saturday morning before 9 am. I was there till 10:45 am. Walked up to the tablet to check in and sat down. Seriously people that came in after me got taken care of before me. Front desk not very helpful. Finally when it was my turn to get my blood drawn. The lady at the front desk walk to the person about to draw my blood and started to have a conversation and prolonged the process. I had to fast for this test so I had nothing to eat for over 15 hours already. The front desk worker knew I was fasting due to the fact she asked me and I said yes. The lady that drew my blood could not stop shaking the needle that was in my arm. Very unpleasant feeling and caused a bruise that was there for over a week. I used to come to this lab for my blood workup but after today I will not be returning. The Filipino woman at the front check in was so disorganized and incompetent and the whole office in general seemed very chaotic and clueless my gut told me to leave and go to another location. I fasted 14 hours for this appointment too but better safe than sorry. If they can't even get the lab slips right who knows how they handle or identify the samples! read more

They were very slow. They tell you to just walk in because Saturday appointments get full way in advance but when you get there you end up waiting for over 2 hours!!! Very frustrating! The staff at the front desk were VERY rude and shouting at everyone. They could have handled the situation better especially if they know this happens often. How hard is it to put a smile on your face for people about to get their blood drawn, some of whom have been fasting overnight? With Covid19 the staffing has been reduced, service shot fall. The staffs are pleasant. The only complaint is the contact by phone service. The prompt and choices of selections are not directing your call to anyone. Even if the line goes through you get no one answer the line. How frustrating. Okay I feel like I have an obligation to write a review for this place after reading so many negative comments and experienced their service in person: this is one of best and most efficient medical appointments I ever have for multiple reasons: 1) Easy and convenient website: I went on their website and was able to set an appointment in 30 seconds. No need to call and wait for someone someone to answer. They even sent me reminder for my appointment. 2) Extremely friendly and courteous front desk staff: I was assisted by a staff at the front desk right when I walked in. Although they were extremely busy, he greeted me and gave me clear instructions to sign in without any sign of impatience. After less than 2 minutes of wait, I was called and he then helped me with entering my insurance information and other paperwork. He knows exactly what he ia doing and was engaging with me the whole time. 3) Efficient, knowledgeable and friendly technician : the great service did not end there. Once I was inside, the technician greeted me with smile and verified all my information. I informed her that other technicians always have problem drawing my blood since I have small veins, according to them. This lady was able to find my veins in one try and got it done in like a minute. She also edcuated me on why might the other technicians have problems in the past. She even checked my wound afterwards to make sure it will not bruise. As I mentioned, I hardly waited at all and I received wonderful services from everyone. Also, setting appointment with them was a breeze. If I need to, I will definitely use their services again! read more

Went here on a Saturday and I saw about 15 people waiting when I arrived. I thought I'll be in for a long wait because there were a lot of walk-ins but thank goodness I had an APPOINTMENT. I arrived 10:38am. Signed up on a piece of paper and stated that I have a 10:45am appointment. As I waited, I heard other people getting pissed and impatient because they had been waiting for about an hour or so. I was a bit restless but then, they suddenly called my name. Had a brief chit chat with Selena/Celina as she input my details online. After a few minutes, they took my blood and it was done in an instant. What time I finished? 10:58am. Previously, I had a lot of bad experiences with blood tests because my veins are small and hard to draw blood from . I didn't want my arms to get bruised up from needles going in and out like what happened before. Came in today (Thursday 3:30pm) there was only one person waiting and unlike other yelp reviews for this place, the lady in the front desk was super nice and friendly. I sat and waited for 5 minutes and I was called in! The nurse made me feel comfortable and it only took her 1 try. I arrived on February 16th at 7:20 for my 7:20 and the person at the desk was absolutely horrible. In fact, let me tell you the ending first: I called her a bitch and walked out. I told her I had an appointment but she said that she could not help me because my name was not on her screen. I told her I was sure that I had an appointment and that Quest actually confirmed it yesterday via email. This unprofessional, crude, raw young lady looked at me as if I was something she inadvertently stepped on. I sat down, used my I-pad to gain access to my emails and walked up to the counter and showed her the email whereupon she said "well I don't know what happened." I told her "you should learn to be a little nicer." Her response was "Excuse me!" like you would hear from a youngster raised by poor parents. I told her "No worries, I don't want the appointment now, I am leaving because you are a bitch." She called me an asshole and threatened to call the police. By the way, have you noticed that a lot of people seem to mention this person on Yelp? Hey Quest, just a thought: if a lot of people think this person needs seasoning have a talk with her or get a replacement. Suggestion: skip this place and go into San Francisco, they have people than can speak using grammatically correct sentences that act like they appreciate a job. read more

This is a review for QUEST on Campus Drive in Daly City, not the Southgate address (Yelp does not have the Campus address in their list). HORRIBLE is too nice a word. I need to have some tests done for an upcoming surgery. The lady at the front desk looks at me like Im bothering her and simply says "Insurance Card." No "Hello" or "How are you" or "Welcome." No smiles, no personalites, no nothing. They actually have a "Code of Conduct" on their wall which talks about treating every patient as if they are special, warm greeting, blah, blah, blah. It appears the ladies that work here never read it. The technician talked to me, just to verify my name, but nothing else. Most people dont like getting poked or prodded. These workers should know that and do their best to make you feel comfortable...Good Luck! read more

I should start by saying that I've had blood tests done monthly for years and years, first at Labcorp and then at Kaiser. They've always been quick and uneventful. Unfortunately, an out-of-network specialist asked me to get a draw at Quest, and it was hands-down the worst (and most painful) draw I've ever had. I had booked an appointment for 8:15 in the morning, and received an email indicating my appointment was accepted with a confirmation number. I got there at 8:05, and indicated as requested on the sign-in sheet that I had an 8:15 appointment. 8:15 came around. Then 8:30. Then 8:45. Still no call. I finally went up to the window and asked why I hadn't been helped, and the answer was apparently that my name wasn't on some sort of print-out of reservations they had at the front desk, so they just didn't honor my reservation. I was asked if I had a confirmation number, and I showed the email confirmation and confirmation number on my phone that indicated that I had indeed booked an actual appointment that they had somehow missed; they got me in after that. The first phlebotomist was clearly inexperienced. She was timid tying the tourniquet and uncertain inserting the needle; she went in deep and was way off. I'm not that squeamish, so I let her fish for two minutes, until I finally asked that she stop and find me another phlebotomist. The next phlebotomist inspected her work and called a third phlebotomist. The third phlebotomist attempted a draw on my other hand, fished for another two minutes, and also failed. He was finally successful going back to the original hand, where he took a rough but ultimately successful draw. A missed draw is one thing, it happens. A mismanaged appointment is another. It too happens. But a mismanaged appointment *and* two bad draws before seeing blood? That's three strikes on a single trip, and there's no possible way I'll be going back. Beware. read more

So I was hesitant to go to this lab because of the other review on here, but it's in a really convenient location to my house so I figured I'd give it a shot. Easy big parking lot, the place is on the first floor of a medical office building. The front desk person was perfectly fine, not super friendly but not rude or anything. Arrived at 1:25 for my 1:30 appointment. They took me back at 1:32 and my blood was painlessly drawn at 1:35. I was in the car and on my way back home by 1:40. Pretty much all you can expect from a lab experience... this is my new go to spot if I need my blood drawn. read more
