He was very abrupt, didn't even bother to introduce himself and acted like he couldn't be bothered to talk to us. The whole appointment had to have been about five whole minutes -- for a new patient exam! WTF? We were both really offended by his beside manner. He didn't even introduce himself. He was just like, "So what are you here for?" Well, excuse us for taking up your time! We explained when we scheduled the appointment that my husband is a new patient, needs a general physical and we'd just like to establish a relationship with a primary care doctor. Obviously the front desk hadn't communicated that to the doctor before he came in to meet with us! The guy had the warmth and personality of a block of ice. For a first time patient, he also didn't ask a whole lot of questions that you think would be relevant to assess someone's health! He was supposed to give my husband a physical, but barely did anything beyond check his blood pressure and order some blood tests -- several of which we had to specifically ask for. He kept asking us what we wanted...um, we want you to do your job and be our doctor! I personally like a doctor that asks relevant questions about diet, lifestyle, stress factors, etc., and he totally dropped the ball on that one. Ultimately, his lack of personality or caring attitude really turned both of us off. Beyond that, we're not even sure how good of a doctor he is because he didn't ask some fairly important, standard questions you would ask a new patient. We will continue to search for a better doctor. This guy just didn't give us a sense of confidence that we would be in good hands.

I appreciate having a doctor who remembers everything about my case whenever I see him; not being shunted off to residents; and getting empathetic but straight-forward talk when coming in for my heart problems. He is very good about talking me down off the ledge and keeping me from catastrophizing. I appreciate being able to get appointments, and am always surprised and grateful when he calls me himself. I wonder if other providers (especially those at the bigger hospitals) take the time to do that. I appreciated his connections to other providers within Sutter -- he made sure I got a great heart surgeon, and I felt well-cared for knowing that that they were communicating & working together. He also has a great office team. Thank you, Dr. O'Neill. I am so grateful to you and your staff.

He declined to look at the vitals (blood pressure and heart rate) I had been writing down for several days saying he didn't need to see them. He was only interested in looking at a Holter monitor test that was 3 weeks old and thought the results were ambiguous. He only said to come back in one month for an echocardiogram and back in two months for a follow-up appointment. Four days later I went to the ER with persistent low heart rate. I was checked into the hospital immediately and scheduled to have a pacemaker implanted as soon as possible. He never bothered to explain to me how he missed diagnosing my condition, or even apologizing for his failure to do so. I must agree with P T.'s assessment posted on Nov 7, 2025.

I attempted to call every day and no one seems to be interested in answering the phone. So I paid a visit to the office and my first impression was that the office was very busy and causing an unorganized staff. I waited in line for a few minutes to be attended. No big deal. When it was my turn, I mentioned to the receptionist that I would like to set up an appointment with Dr. Feeney. Another employee quickly interjected and said that "Dr. Feeney is not here this afternoon." I was not there to see him but to make an appointment. Then I was told to call the number to set up an appointment. The conversation went like a salad spinner as the staff kept telling me that I needed to make a call. It turned out that the scheduler, Monica, was out sick. No one is covering for her, and no one in the office can help me except to tell me that I need to make a phone call to set it up. I walked out as there are other cardiologist around.

I had been diagnosed by my EP cardiologist Dr. Matthew Levy (also an amazing doctor) in July of 2011 with an extremely rare arrhythmia called Junctional Etopic Tachycardia. In english this means I had some sort of extra cells located near my AV node (located near very important working part of the heart). My EP Dr. had never seen this before.... that is why I decided to meet Dr. Scheinman. I met with him once. He is very quiet and soft spoken but a complete GENIUS and I was terrified beyond believe to have another EP study but Dr. Scheinman explained to me that why would I continue to live how I have been (constant ER visit to re-set my heart) when he can fix me. He made it sound so, so simple. I just kept his voice in my head!! Repeating that same line. "why would I continue to live how I have been when he can fix me" LOL So I made a decision to move forward with the EP study and ablation. (For those of you that have had one you know how unpleasant it is). My arrhythmia was completely debilitating so I felt as though this was my last option and hope. I had my procedure at UCSF on 11/23/11 the day before thanksgiving. This was the best decision I could have ever made! Granted I felt as though I was dying on the table and the week after it but it was well worth it because January 23rd will make two months of no tachycardia episodes!!! I couldn't even make it a week before this..... I had my follow up appointment on January 9, 2012 and Dr. Scheinmen deemed me cured!!!! I owe this man my life. Without his expertise and amazingly smart mind, body & soul I would be completely debilitated at 30 years young. The day this man retires will be a sad day because he genuinely cares about his patients and you just don't find that anymore. Oh and did I mention that Dr. Scheinman is a founding father of catheter ablation??? Bless this man and everyone that is lucky enough to have been treated by him. Dr. Scheinman thank you for saving my life! I will think of you on 11/23 every year as I am able to celebrate my happy healthy heart!

His condition included dangerously low sodium levels for which Dr Tseng was engaged to address. Most of his input was based on blood tests and the few times he came by his visits were very hurried and detached. He even took cell phone calls which were clearly about his "real patients" and did not bother to excuse himself from the hospital room to take the call. We learned much about his other patient's condition while he talked and paced around the room. Once my Dad was released Dr Tseng's continued involvement was required by the Cardiologist (also the Seton "on call") to continue monitoring my Dad's salt to diuretic balance. Three calls to Tseng's office, detailed conversation with staff and direct pages resulted in nothing. No response. I have zero respect and tolerance for the medical community indifference to patient welfare and general lack of responsibility. This is no exception. If you get admitted to Seton and need a Nephrologist, I hope you get someone else.
