I had the easiest experience this time. My doctor sent my order to LabCorp in advance on 5/4. I went online 5/5 to make an appointment thinking it'll be weeks out since fasting appointments are hard to get. To my delight I was able to book a 7am appointment for today 5/14. Prior to my scheduled appointment LabCorp sent me both reminders to my mobile #, and an online check in option. I checked in online 15 minutes prior to my appointment from my car. Then I walked over to LabCorp at 6:58am where there were 10 people ahead of me. At 7am the doors opened, and I bypassed the line and sat down. My name was called a minute later. I confirmed my information. Another minute later the phlebotomist called my name. I had blood drawn and was out under ten minutes. I still can't believe how easy this appointment was this time. To minimize any wait time. Use the Labcorp app / patient portal. Sign up and make account. Make an appointment as soon as 3 months before your desired date of service. They send you reminders and also have an online check in link. If you go early and try for walk in appointment, there could be 20+ people with the same idea. Folks with appointment will go first based on scheduled time. Having a Labcorp account will allow LC to send you bloodwork results and analysis which you can print and save for your records. In this day and age it's difficult to get good services anywhere. Due to limited locations, insurance companies rules, and other circumstances services these days are lacking everything. 1. Doctors require your test be done fasting;and there are no morning appointments available for six weeks. 2. When you arrive the lobby is packed, with only a few seats open. Today was my worst draw ever!! Normally I have no problems -today the lady doing my blood draw couldn't find a vein so she went to my wrist and missed the vein several times. Lots of chairs (25-30 chairs) in a large waiting area. Also lots of people waiting, almost every seat is taken, seniors and younger persons. no ventilation, only the main entrance door that stayed open. as of 2025, appointments need to be booked 3 weeks in advance attempted a walk in on a weekday and did not expect the wait to be so long. I thought I was ready to wait. ok, thinking maybe 1-2 hours, right? From hearing other people who were there hours earlier than me, it was a 3.5-4 hour wait. oh boy. after waiting 1 hour i had to give up and left. I'll have to do this another day. No way I have time for this. self service check in and scan your drivers license at the machines. I feel bad for seniors or the technologically challenged that so many things are digital nowadays because some really have no idea how to use it. I normally use Sutter Labs and this place was a shock. I went in on a weekday hoping for a walk-in, only to see a sign saying "Due to reasons beyond our control, walk-ins may have to wait up to 2 hours". OK, forget that, then. Would've been nice if that was on the website. Would've been nice to see an explanation: is this just a bad day, or a permanent situation? Anyway, I got an appointment for three days later. Turned up a bit early, checked in, and waited. And waited. There was NO announcement to the effect that they were running late. Only when I noticed other patients grumbling how long they'd been waiting did I get worried, and asked the lady at the desk. She looked it up and said I would be the next patient. I then watched THREE people get called ahead of me. A good 30 minutes after my appointment time, I was called up and they ran the insurance and took payment. But even then, they weren't ready for me, and I had to wait even longer, very stressed because I had to get to school to collect my child. Finally, they took my blood and sent me out with inadequate hemostasis: I was bleeding down my arm as I left. I wish they would have just been transparent about the wait time: I would have rescheduled and not wasted my time. Just calling out something like 'We have two people drawing blood and we're currently seeing patients with 1pm appointments" would have been helpful. If they are REGULARLY running late, then something needs to be done about how the place is managed. read more

My insurance covers Labcorp lab tests, which are too expensive to pay out of pocket. I used their online system to schedule an appointment, which took nearly a month. The hours at every location are limited; they're not even open for 8 hours a day. While the waiting room was large, almost every chair was dirty for reasons I couldn't identify. Having so many chairs doesn't make sense when staffing levels are insufficient for patient output. The facility is not well-maintained, and that's not the only issue I encountered. When I arrived, I checked in, and about 10 to 15 minutes later, I was called to the back. The phlebotomist who drew my blood was unprofessional. She mentioned that she wasn't feeling well before proceeding, which is not reassuring when someone is about to draw your blood. When I asked if she felt well enough to continue, she replied that she did. So why mention it at all? Her first mistake was forgetting to use an alcohol wipe to prep my arm before inserting the needle. Then, after collecting the vials, she flipped the safety cap of the needle while it was still in my arm, causing a snap similar to that of a rubber band on a bruise. The proper procedure is to remove the needle from the arm and move it away from the patient first. It only requires two months of training to become a phlebotomist, but it seems Labcorp hires anyone. A week later, I received an email stating that my lab results had been released. I logged in, but there were no results available. I called this location three times and left messages each time. No one answered, and no one returned my calls. The unprofessionalism at LabCorp seems to stem from the top down. I contacted my insurance company to explore options for using a different laboratory. I was informed that I would need to change my medical group, which I have done. This change won't take effect until next month, but thankfully, my problem will be resolved moving forward. read more

Going to the lab these days as a drop in means hours of waiting. Getting an appointment typically takes months. I popped into the Ocean Ave location at 8:30am to a full waiting room with lots of impatient people talking/yelling at the staff. The team there made it clear that they were shorthanded and kept people updated on expected wait times. Maria Dwyer was the phlebotomist that helped me. Despite being such a challenging patient, she took her time and ensured I didn't feel rushed. I felt bad as my session probably set the waiting room back 1/2 an hour. I waited almost three hours because I didn't have an appointment. If you can get an appointment, DO IT. If you can't, bring your patience and don't take it out on the staff. read more

Staff is very friendly. Check in process very easy - just scan your Driver's license ID. I'm sure it would be even faster, if my address on my driver's license was updated lol. I can't ever seem to make an appointment that is within a week's time, so I walk in. I am usually seen within the 30 mins of when I check in. I really liked the phlebotomist I had...can't remember her name, but she was really great at poking, and got me on the first try (not that I'm a hard poke), but also that it was the first time I noticed it never hurt like other places do. I was quite impressed. Maybe it was the distraction story she told me as she was drawing my blood. Either way, great and impressive job. I will say the hours are kind of odd, I don't know why they take their lunch from 11am - 12pm, which seems quite early. But, that being said, I checked in at 10:50am, and they still waited to make sure I was finished up (even though it was after 11am), before closing up - they didn't turn me away because it was simply 11am. This location is really horrible. I went in at 8am and the waiting room was completely filled with people. When I went to check in their was a sign on the wall saying that the wait time may take up to 2 hours. I tried to get an appointment and I was NOT able too. The whole month has NO appointments available. When I did the check in the ipad said that it would take 2 and half hours if I waited. I opted to take the appointment option and to be back at 10:30 am. I went back at 930am and they were still calling people that got their at 7am. I waited until 10:20 and left because I had an dr. Save yourselves the pain! Do not go here. The phlebotomist that took my blood kept wiggling the needle while IT WAS INSIDE MY ARM! The tipped it almost 90 degrees from entry angle. I kept saying "ow ow ow! Please stop moving it, it hurts" but she didn't stop. And then after she was done, she walked away and murmured under her breath "not interested". Wtf?! Outstanding and Prompt Service at LabCorp on Ocean Avenue I had blood drawn twice this year around 8:30 a.m. at the Labcorp office on Ocean Avenue. The service was outstanding both times, with very few people there. In the past, there usually were a ton of walk ins waiting, and the service sometimes was a little slow even for those with appointments. But since last year, things have changed. Vicki works there now and is in charge of the appointments and everything runs very smoothly. All of the staff now is very efficient and pleasant. Marta works at the counter sometimes checking folks in and at other times draws blood. Marietta usually draws blood but sometimes works at the counter. The staff that seemed not to be as efficient are gone. There is one other woman there I haven't dealt with but hear also is top notch. I have read reviews that have not been so favorable, but my experience this year has been excellent. If you've been there before, give it another try. If you haven't, I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised. Vicky, Marta, Marietta, and their co-worker are a very good crew, and the office runs very efficiently. Happy blood draws! read more

This place is wild. First of all, I had to come back here because they ordered the wrong test somehow the last time I was here two weeks ago. Not only is the place not clean (there is a lot of dust and something sticky on of the seats that I tried to sit on), the lab were full on bickering with each other loudly. They were accusing each other of not knowing what they were doing and making mistakes and we are all sitting there wondering which one is the one that makes the mistakes and is that the one that's going to draw my blood? Considering that somebody made a mistake last time, I tend to believe it. While we were waiting, one of the check-in ladies was legitimately scrolling through baby photos that someone was texting her instead of checking people in ... and there were dozens of people who hadn't been checked in. It was wild. This place is just unprofessional and it seems even those that work there fight over it ... out loud and in front of patients. Their argument was getting so heated that they made a guy who was already about to get his blood drawn leave the back area so that they could finish their argument. I kid you not. I was very tempted to just walk out and go find a different location but I had already fasted and didn't wanna have to start all over again another day at a different location. My experience for the reception is zero star but the experience with phlebotomist is 5 stars. The reception was so rude and not responsive. I had been waited for 30 min after check in and no respond from the receptionist. I asked coupon time , she said " I don't know how soon will be ur turn as I am the only person in here. U need to wait for us to call u and put ur info into system. 2 of the phlebotomists had come out try to help and call the client put them into the system. When I got there the check-in process was also very easy (just scanned my drivers license), the attendant was super friendly, and the tech who drew my blood was kind and professional. My husband and I had such a nice experience at Lapcorp yesterday morning. I made appointments months in advance for lab work and snagged 7:45 and 8:00am appointments. We got there a little after 7:30am. Be careful where you park as I've gotten a street cleaning ticket - they clean early and you can't see the street cleaning sign because a tree can cover it. So just park in the two hour residential parking area. Our blood draw person was very professional and so nice. She even apologized for our wait. She was an African American woman and took all steps to make me feel comfortable. It is pretty easy to find my vein and looking at my arm - you wouldn't know I had my blood drawn that morning so she did a great job. My husband also had the same experience with her and We were out of there by 8:15am. So make a appointment at least 3 months in advance, park in a safe spot and you'll be in and out in no time! read more

I've had pretty solid experiences here (in the past 3 months, I've been here 3-4 times). The phlebotomists are experienced and I never leave with bruises or sore arms. The front staff are also efficient and helpful. I've never had to wait more than 30 min, despite "walking in" for all my appointments. It's a medical facility, not a restaurant/hospitality business so I don't expect the staff members to hand-hold or be excessively friendly (though most of the staff here seem nice enough. Some are a bit standoffish but not a big deal). Taking off one star because one staff member insisted that I needed to pay for lab work even after I told him my insurance would cover it. He finally left it alone when I told him to just bill me. Other than that one slightly exasperating experience, I'd still recommend this lab. read more

I've been to many Labcorps, but this was the worst. Disorderly, overcrowded and loud. Here's the breakdown: - Made my appointment in advance. - 15 minutes PRIOR to appt - Arrived, parked across the street and completed my mobile check in and waited in the car. - 5 mins PAST my appt, I got the text to go in, which I did immediately. - Waited and listened for my name, super hard to understand the person and lobby was loud. But given that it was crowded and there were other unruly people yelling and complaining to the front desk, I tried to be patient and not cause a fuss. - 30 mins PAST my appt, I went up and asked. I get a very rude response from Marta L. that said she's been calling my name -- either this was a lie or she cannot articulate names very well. - 40 mins PAST my appt, I finally got my procedure done and got out of there.
