    Queso's Flautas

'Kay, so (haha), this is a solid Mexican food place. It's nicely decorated inside, with some black and white photos of people in Mexican attire along some brick walls. There's also a clear garage door style window that opens up on nicer days. Our server Ali (spelling unknown) was very quick and attentive and made friendly conversation. Our food also came out really fast as well. We ordered... Queso dip ($10): it's a queso blanco that's fairly mild and would be palatable to anyone. Liven it up with the complimentary salsa! Arroz con pollo ($16): I didn't try this plate but it looked like a good portion size. Queso's flautas ($17): Fan-tas-tic! The chicken comes wonderfully sauced and seasoned and wrapped up in a fried tortilla delight! I would certainly make another trip to come here!

Jennifer was phenomenal! Attentive and friendly! The restaurant has a classy feel to it with comfy chairs and plenty of seats all around. The chips were crispy and the salsa was delicious!!! Ordered the steak fajitas with a side of guacamole ($1) extra , and to my disappointment did not come with lettuce, sour cream or salsa like every other restaurant I have ever visited:( ..... but they had plenty of steak w/ vegetables but again they need these to truly make a fajita! I also had the grilled chicken quesadillas but the chicken itself lacked any flavor but it had plenty of cheese and chicken inside. It came with 2 sides so I opted for French fries were hot and tasty. The pitcher of margarita was $26 and worth every penny! Overall it was good food, about $17 average per person on the bill , but definitely will return.

Let's say the overwhelming reason for me to return to this place is the prickly pear margarita. It is phenomenal. Not too sweet, not too tart. You get your choice of rims also. Choose between salt, sugar or tajin, whatever your pleasure. The restaurant itself is a bit on the rustic side, but nicely furnished and decorated. The service is friendly but not very attentive. The prices are fairly high for Mexican fare, however the portions are pretty generous. I opted for the tortilla soup, which was good, but I have had better. So I shall give that a meh. I did enjoy my flautas. Nice and crisp with a delicious filling and some crema and cojita cheese on top. The dish came with rice, but not the beans you would be used to at a Mexican place. My guest enjoyed the esquite and I have to second that. I was delicious. She also ordered the veggie tacos and gave those a thumbs up. But just like myself, she gave 2 thumbs up for the prickly pear margarita.

Chicken Enchiladas (3) served with charro beans and sweet plantains were good.

We've driven past Queso weekly but, for some reason, never stopped here. This evening we decided to change that. They are easy to find, located behind Belle Tire and across the street from Andy Mohr Ford on US 40/Washington Street/Main Street in the small strip center. Parking is shared with the other businesses in the strip center. A nice patio area will be opening when the weather permits. Queso is a family-friendly restaurant, and they take reservations. Lunch is served from 11a - 3p, Mon. - Fri. and a kid's menu is available. They have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings with seating close to the stage. We received a friendly greeting and immediately shown to a table in the bar area. The bartender was our server and arrived promptly. My husband ordered a Dos Equis Amber, and I had the house margarita. They have full bar service and serve many types of margaritas and hand-crafted cocktails. Both our drinks were extremely cold, and the house margarita had a nice flavor. Many non-alcoholic beverages are offered, including Pepsi products. The menu isn't extensive, like some Mexican restaurants we've seen. However, several unique items seldom seen on others' menus are served at Queso. Several specialty entrees are on the menu as well. I'm looking forward to trying the Street Corn, Quacamole Molcajete, Ceviche, and Chicken Tortilla Soup. The menu offers authentic Mexican food with 8 types of homemade salsas. Daily specials of food or drink are listed in the entrance or see the attached picture. Chips and salsa arrived at the table quickly. The chips are very thick, and we weren't fans. The server was patient as we were indecisive on what to try first. My husband opted for the 3 Ribeye Tacos (no mix and match) served with one side, and his side choice was charro beans. He loved the steak tacos. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas served with two sides, which were charro beans and plantains. We both enjoyed the meaty charro beans, and the plantains were lightly crispy but with a sweet, soft center. Our server was attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our order arrived timely with a nice presentation. The atmosphere is casual and a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday. 2 birthdays were celebrated while we were there. Their birthday version is very loud. Fun spot to celebrate, good food, live music on weekends, and several types of margaritas.

This is a fairly new restaurant in Plainfield IN. They are located on US 40 going towards Plainfield IN. They are business casual and family friendly. They have a separate bar area that is big. Their ambiance is average loud. Their customer service was good. They explained how the menu works and all the options available. I don't know if they have any vegan options, but they definitely have vegetarian options. The Mexican rice is cooked with Chicken broth and their Ranchero sauce has chicken broth or breast in it according to their customer service. Their food tastes good and it's more Americanized than authentic. We went in winter so I don't know if they have any outdoor seating available. They have their restaurant rewards program that they advertise when we are there. Definitely try at least once!

Guys I literally started thanking God mid meal because it was so good. The servers were all so kind and the food came out pretty quick. Everything inside is so cute & classy. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Literally a 10/10 The chipotle salsa is the most amazing thing ever oh my gosh.

I give this an easy 5/5. It was a clean establishment with very nice tables & decor. We went for a company lunch which tends to either go exceptionally well service wise or terrible. Our server was patient, kind and very attentive. All of us got our own salsas and refilled before even needed Then the food. I got the steak fajitas and they were not chewy at all and the peppers/onions had a great taste. Everyone raved and I will definitely be back

Stopped at Queso's for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The sign out side side that tacos were $2.99 and street tacos were $3.99 so o thought it would be a good time to try a variety. I was sat pretty quickly in the bar. The bartender (I don't remember his name) was friendly, fast, and took the time to explain all the different sauces and make recommendations. The chips and salsa came out first. The chips are hearty and thick. The salsa was fresh tasting and hard a little kick to it. A fresh pepper taste, not a chipotle taste, just the way I like it. The ground beef taco was good. Piping hot, not greasy, and serves on a fresh shell. As I picked up the barbacoa taco a tablespoon or so of liquid splashed onto my white shirt. Just be careful of that particular meat. The grilled chicken was okay. It was bland but I did put some avocado sauce on it to remedy this. My bill came to $34 before tip. The bill was paid at the table and I didn't even think about it until I got to my car. Seems high for 3 tacos (that were supposed to be on special) and a Coke. I was so excited for a new restaurant in Plainfield, and this one took forever to open, but I probably won't be back. There are better, cheaper options in the area.

It was our first time there and we'd go again. We ate our tacos so fast I didn't even get a photo. We all got the street signature tacos. You get three but three of the same kind so we each ordered a different one and traded. Overall we had the Al carbon tacos, ribeye tacos, and tulum shrimp tacos. I loved them all and would get that again. The jalapeño margarita was pretty good too.

The best Mexican food I've had in ages. Most places around here seem like the same old song and dance, not queso's. The service was excellent, we were seated right away and our server took great care of us being very attentive and respectful. The food was excellent, I ordered the flautas which were amazing and my fiancé had the carne asada. While most places serve a chewy steak that can hardly be cut, hers was tender and flavorful enough to be eaten alone. The Mexican rice was also delicious which I feel is rare at most Mexican restaurants nowadays. Definitely will be returning and requesting the same server.

I got the quesa birria tacos, which is shredded beef and melted cheese in a double corn tortilla. They come three to an order, with a cup of red consomme to dip them into, and a couple of lime wedges to squeeze over everything. They do not come with any sides, so I ordered the refried pinto beans and carrot rice, because I really wanted some rice and beans. Beans and rice are my litmus test of any Mexican restaurant, and I'm happy to say that the rice and beans at Tlahcos passed the test with flying colors, and they are sublime. I don't practice Santeria, but perhaps the people at Tlahcos do, because their food is bewitching. The carne asada was also ordered, and it came with grilled nopales (cactus), cebollita canbray (little onions), grilled panela cheese, plus guacamole, salsa, rice and black beans. It was a 98%, and what would have raised it to a 100% was if it came with tortillas. But really, it was a great dish! If you're a person who is used to eating carne asada on a regular basis, you will be satisfied with this one. Chips and salsa are complimentary, which shows that Tlahcos knows its Plainfield-area visitors. My children, who eat like birds, filled themselves up on chips and salsa and declined a full meal, but Tlahcos does have a kids menu. On the kids menu, you'll find arroz con pollo, mini cheese quesadillas, a taco, mac & cheese, chicken nuggets and a mini pizza. Kid meals come with your choice of side, which are fries, rice & beans or a cup of fruit. They have a full cocktail list, as well as beer, wine and hot beverages (coffee and tea). I got a Paloma, which was a little light on the booze, but tasty nevertheless. The rim of the glass was beautifully decorated with Tajin, which added a nice, spicy kick. It was one of those drinks that makes you want to lick the glass.

The drinks are great. I have had the Birria tacos, the guacamole, the refried beans, and black beans, as well as multiple food options. Seriously, I have taken clients here as well as family. My most recent experience was still great, but there are two items I would never order off the menu. Let's look at the good and bad of these items: Baja Fish Tacos- I was looking for the cabbage-filled delicacies that are light but flavorful. What I received appeared to be small fish sticks stuck into a tortilla. The cabbage and sauce were tasty, but they could not mask the main cause of the tacos' failure: the fish. Do not order these. Ceviche Yucatan- looking for flavor with the light ceviche? That is not what this is. This is a large portion of ceviche dressed in a sweet sauce that completely overpowers it. Not even sure that you can call it a ceviche at this point. But the portion was good, and the ceviche ingredients looked fresh. Otherwise, we had the house guac, which was so so good, the birria tacos, which were amazing with the sauce as usual, the fundido, which was flavorful cheese and chorizo, as well as the Zapopan, which was a wonderful fusion of mango and spice (who knew bacon in this would be great). Housemade Horchata is great, not too sweet and flavorful as well as the Rita margarita! GREAT. Overall, a great night, some great food, and I will be back, but I will just not order the two items discussed above! PROS: Great flavors and food Good seating Good service Parking garage or street parking, easy CONS: Smaller actual bar top area

The menu has all the traditional appetizers, entrees, and desserts. You will find a variety of nachos, quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and chimichangas. I had the Carnitas El Potro with chunks of tender pork tenderloin with onions and jalapeno peppers topped with shredded cheese and served with a side of beans and rice. I wasn't impressed with the pork chunks as they were fatty, but the beans and rice were flavorful. Desserts are available with Chimi Cheesecake, Flan, Sopapilla, and Ice Cream. I had the Flan and thought it was too dense. The Flan sauce was flavorful, but I did not enjoy the texture of this Flan, and it is my favorite Mexican dessert. I will not order this dessert here again. I'm still happy I tried El Potro's tonight and had the opportunity to visit with old and new friends.
