Was heading to a gathering to celebrate a friend's accomplishment. It was last-minute for all of us, so I didn't have a chance to go out and buy a proper gift. I thought I would have to drive a few miles away to either buy the gift or grab a quick bottle of wine to let her know I was thinking about her. I don't like walking into places empty-handed. Then, I spotted this new wine and spirits store. I found a parking space and was able to walk to her downtown condo with ease. The ladies running the store were very helpful in my effort to pick a nice bottle for the specific occasion. I know my friend likes red wine, but I'm better at picking white wine. The whole transaction took five minutes and I arrived at the celebration on time. This specific area has been a difficult hub to grab a quick bottle of wine to present at a get-together and I am glad to know this location is now available for a last-minute purchase. Woot!

Nice store and selection of wines in mid-town Memphis, TN. But nearby parking is hard to find.

This was not a pleasant experience…read more Came here on an early Thursday afternoon to try the casino. The town only has 4 casinos now and the entire city looks empty. We were able to park in the front since parking lot was empty as well. The inside is sparse. There are way more machines than live action games. The place seems kind of sad honestly. No enjoyment here at all.

The elevators have been broken for months, leaving only one in service. It's a safety hazard and a blatant ADA violation waiting to happen. Elderly guests, people with disabilities, and staff are forced to wait for ages or climb stairs while management pretends it's not their problem. Maybe an ADA investigation is the only thing that will finally get them to care. The casino floor? Dead. No payouts, no energy, no life. Machines are tighter than a vault and about as exciting as a morgue. The staff look miserable, clearly beaten down by leadership that gives zero concern for morale or guests. Then there's the food -- if you can call it that. The restaurant and steakhouse are an insult. My steak smelled so foul it was actually nauseating -- like rancid meat and dirty gym socks. It was disgusting, and management usually doesnt even blink. Typically No apology, no replacement, no basic decency. Just indifference. They took the steak off the bill for once but I didnt even eat any of it it was so disgusting. The entire property is dirty, outdated, and depressing. Stained carpets, broken fixtures, and an overwhelming feeling that no one in charge has lifted a finger in months. It's honestly unsafe and unsanitary. Their "1 Star Rewards" program couldn't be more fitting -- because that's exactly the experience you'll get: 1 star service, 1 star cleanliness, 1 star management, and 1 star safety. Goldstrike used to have pride and atmosphere. Now it's just greed, grime, and garbage. This place should be shut down until someone competent takes over.

But my wife wanted to visit the Memphis Botanic Garden for her birthday, and somehow this place turned me into a calm, peaceful woodland citizen for a few hours. First off, the weather was absolutely perfect, which already gives nature a huge advantage. Then you walk the grounds and realize this place is legitimately beautiful. Ducks casually living their best lives, koi fish gliding through the water like they pay property taxes there, birds chirping, flowers everywhere, waterfalls and water features--it's like stress gets checked at the front gate with your $12 admission fee. And let's not overlook the fact that there were food trucks... and one of them was selling cocktails. Suddenly being outside didn't seem so unreasonable anymore. What surprised me most was how peaceful the entire experience felt. It genuinely pulls you away from the noise of everyday life and drops you into this quiet little zen mode you didn't know you needed. Also, if you're planning a wedding or outdoor event, this place is loaded with gorgeous spots that look like they came straight out of a magazine. Seriously, every few steps felt like another "this would be an amazing wedding photo" moment. When the weather cooperates, this place is hard to beat as a happy place. Even for people like me who normally consider "the outdoors" a temporary inconvenience.

The wine slushies were my favorite! We enjoyed their flatbread-style pizza, which was a perfect size for two. They prefer pets to stay outside, but if you're traveling solo or just popping in to grab a drink, you're welcome to bring your furry friend inside to order and not have to leave them alone! There was live music during our visit, adding to the lovely atmosphere. I only wish it were closer to Memphis so I could visit more often, but I'll definitely be back!
