Queering the Pitch is a year-round queer-oriented music promotion series held throughout the UK, notably at St. Leonard's Church in Shoreditch. The only event of its kind in the Capitol it's a great chance to revel in the particular musical tradition of the queer community, one which of course has given a great deal to UK music culture and music culture in particular. The last lineup I caught included headliners The Hidden Cameras and support acts Helen's Evil Twin and The Gadsdens. The singularity of purpose (which itself is, of course, far more broad than being simply gay by the employment of the 'queer' moniker) makes their events quite special, totally relaxed, and absent of so much of the pretension of many other festivals.
