Springhill feels like a restaurant that's been coasting on its reputation for a long time…read more The best thing I can say is that the fryer oil appeared clean. The catfish and fried items weren't greasy, rancid, or carrying that old-oil taste that ruins a meal. For a place centered around fried food, that's important. Beyond that, the experience was pretty underwhelming. The food was bland and forgettable, cafeteria-quality at best. The salad bar was sparse with limited choices, and nearly everything being served on Styrofoam makes the entire place feel cheap and dated. Service was adequate but nothing memorable. Nobody was rude, but there wasn't much attention to detail or hospitality either. What really stood out was the condition of the facility. The restroom looked neglected, and the sink was partially detached from the wall. When customers see maintenance issues that obvious, it raises questions about the overall upkeep of the restaurant. I don't expect fine dining from a catfish buffet, but I do expect decent food, a clean facility, and some pride in presentation. Aside from the fryer oil being in good shape, there wasn't much here that would make me want to return. Pros: Clean-tasting fryer oil, food served hot. Cons: Bland food, limited salad bar, heavy use of Styrofoam, mediocre service, facility needs maintenance.

The restaurant has lots of seating and it has a very chill vibe. There are plenty of TVs to watch sports games and there is a bar as well. Calamari: The calamari was very crispy and a good portion. The flavor was also very neutral and there was not any weird tastes. However, I wish the calami came out warmer as it was a bit lukewarm when it arrived to the table. Shell Shocker: This boil was really good! The portion is good and the prices are standard. I got the Hook & Reel special blend and it was extremely flavorful and yummy. Next time, I am going to get the spicy because the mild had ZERO spice. This boil came with corn, two potatoes, crab, and shrimp.

The second time was at Joes crab Shack and the crab there was empty and they mixed up the flavors with the incredibly spicy one. Like the saying goes third times the charm. Came here with my fiancé over the weekend. First and foremost the service was great. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She also informed us that they had an all day happy hour so we ordered a pitcher of margarita. Everything came out fast, the flavors were great, and for the price the amount in the bag was great. Will definitely be coming back.

The black beans were rich and flavorful, the empanadas were crisp and satisfying, and the Yuca con Guasacaca dish was so good it honestly surprised me. Our server was great! She was nice, checked on us and refilled our waters frequently. Entrees: - Pabellion Criollo: meat was a little too salty for my friend's taste but she said the rice balances it out really well. They accommodated her request for scrambled instead of fried eggs. - Asado Negro: Sooo good. It was like, beef and gravy, but better. They allowed me to sub the beans for extra rice - Surf and turf sandwich: Hubby said it was okay but adding more of the green sauce helped a bit - Filet mignon (can't remember the exact name): our other friend liked his staff as well! They also accommodated his request to have the egg on the side. I guess it could be a hole in the wall place since it's in an unassuming small business strip but the music was good and everyone loved the food! Be warned: there is only 1 bathroom so plan your potty break accordingly...

Server was nice to share how backed up the restaurant was. I ordered the fried shrimp with flounder combo. I love how the fries have that beer batter exterior so it's extra crispy. The shrimp was great plum and juicy. I felt like the batter was a little too thick and the batter didn't have any flavor in it. The flounder was good, but the fish was dry. I wish for the price point. The fish was a little thick thicker in meat. It was slightly sweet white meat so that was good. The chicken wings honestly are really good. I was surprised how crispy and juicy the wings were. I love the Cajun flavor along with the lemon pepper. You can really taste both seasonings. They have the chicken wing fried game down very surprised how good the wings were, crispy skin and juicy white meat. The oysters were great, big sized oysters, no sand or shell chips. Nice sweet flavors from the oyster meat. Clean tasting, a little briny, good seafood taste. Alll the side dipping sauces were good, cocktail, ranch, etc. beers were good too. Reasonably priced.
