Great service! Went for a gel pedicure and unfortunately one of the nails popped off the same day because the nail was so small and the gel accidentally adhered the skin. When i walked back in the next day to address the incorrect application, the manager was very kind and accomodating and they immediately made room for me to fix the gel. The manager was also very focused on educating the nail tech that applied the gel so that the mistake wouldn't happen in the future. Mistakes happen, but Queen Bee did a perfect job at handling the situation! Will be back again soon. read more

I went into this nail salon looking to get UV gel fill in. I was charged for an entire new set even though only 4 of my nails needed to redone. Fine it's okay. The woman doing my nails seemed to be in a reallly bad mood. She kept huffing and sighing very loudly. I apologized many times stating that I didn't know I needed a new set, idk why I even apologized. She then proceeded to put color on my nails only for the color to completely break and not adhere on my nails. She told me to place them into the UV light and I had to stop her telling her the nail polish is bad. I don't understand how she could have not seen that. She was annoyed and took off the polish and told me to select a new color. The entire process took 2 hours. She was very unfriendly and didn't even do a good job. The entire time she kept telling me how the previous nail salon didn't do UV gel correctly - however 3 days after getting my nails done here- the pinky finger broke off the uv gel that they replaced. They are lopsided and the uv gel is bulkier on one side of the nail. I will not be returning to this location due to the treatment of your customers and terrible service. I ended up with terrible nail trauma from the older lady drilling away the entire top of my nails. I repeatedly told her it was hot and she was hurting me. She was drilling away my actual nails. I ended up going to a dermatologist that said she drilled away my nail and I am left with a wavy nail line, rings on my nail bed and they hurt. Will take months to grow back. read more

Queen Bee is the first and only salon I've returned to, and now Ive been going on almost a year getting my nails done here! The entire staff are soo pleasant. I get powder gel done every two weeks by Kathy, and she takes her time and does a wonderful job each time. Very professional and open to criticism if I want to change the shape or anything. Every time I'm there, I am always very impressed with the work done by the other nail techs. Ester, the owner/manager is a hustler! She always has her returning clients in the chair, she remembers names of just about anyone that comes in, which is something that I really appreciate about the experience. It feels like a comfortable, positive environment every time. The first time I came in, I mentioned I was having trouble finding a salon to give me nails I could live in everyday without chips and breakage. I work with my hands, but I want my nails to be pretty and stand up to the challenge. Ester chimed in to give her advice about what type of nail product I should be using and how frequently I should return. Kathy has NEVER missed on making my nails strong and beautiful on a bi-weekly basis ever since. She is great! Ester is eager to help and assist across the board when it comes to phone calls or very specific requests. I've seen her handle difficult clients with such grace and patience. I came in just to get a powder manicure. I asked who I presumed was the main nail tech/owner(?)/manager(?) if they could do an ombré effect with powder and was told yes. I they were very nice and spoke very well but to be completely honest with you I spent $65 on a powder manicure and it just isn't good. I am assuming because the ombré counts as a design which is always extra at every nail salon ever to exist - that would warrant the high price...the ombré effect is essentially non existent it is very subtle and is more of a block color effect closer to a French but not? Also, the amount of powder she used...my nails are very, very thick. Then when I left, I noticed 2 of my nails were messed up so I walked back in for them to be fixed, she had no problem fixing them but instead of putting the powder top coat on she filed and buffed all my nails on the one hand and then painted over the powder with gel...? This whole process took close to 2 hours, and truthfully, I am not really happy with the final result. **Update** a few days later the *UV GEL TOP COAT* (which I knew she should not have put on top of my powder) flaked off of every nail on my one hand except one. I'm going to go back and see if they will fix it...standby for further updates on this. ***2nd update*** I went in and explained to the woman that they put regular UV top coat on top of a powder gel manicure and it flaked off. At first she asked me to come back cause they were "short staffed on a Monday" but I insisted that I couldn't come back later and I would wait...so she stopped what she was doing and buffed out my nails and put the correct top coat on my powder gel and then they looked better after she finished. Final thoughts: I honestly don't know that I would come back here. When I get my nails done, I like to just have them done for the 2 weeks and then go back with no problems or hassles in between - whenever I have to return to the nail salon prior to the 2 weeks, it's always a red flag for me. The biggest redeeming quality of this place is that the staff is really nice with good customer service by all accounts BUT I have paid LESS and had LESS problems with other nail salons in this general area. read more

Got my nails done here on a whim. I just walked in and was taken right away for my pedicure first. It was really nice. A lot cleaner than some other places I've been in the area. The technician worked very hard and diligently and my toes looked great with the gel polish. Manicure was just as good. Same work ethic which was awesome. The prices are the same as every other salon so if you are expecting cheap, Commack isn't your area to go. For what I paid for gel mani & pedi I was very pleased with the outcome. read more

Okay I'll start with the positives. I LOVE the color of my nails!!!! It's this beautiful (extremely) sparkling red that reminds me of Dorothy's ruby red slippers! They have a variety of gel colors to chose from. The lovely nail tech who did my nails painted cute little snowflake nail art as well, costs $5 per finger but I was okay with that. The environment is relaxing, the lady who was greeting people and answering the door was extremely welcoming and kind, and they seem to honor appointments. Now a few things I wasn't so crazy about. I asked for a set of gel tips. I know this can be pricey, but I was treating myself for the holidays, so I accepted when the nail tech who did my nails told me it'd be $80. When she was done, she had changed the price on me saying it's $100 (without the nail art). I don't know what the actual price is because I didn't see gel tips listed on the services board (they had many other prices visible though). I wanted my nails medium length and squared, but slightly filed on the sides so they don't look boxy. They ended up looking short and not so filed on the sides. I wasn't going to write a review, but the last straw was when one of these nails that I got done for Christmas (lol) popped off with ease while I was packaging a simple to go order. I'm also very careful about the stress I put on my nails when I get tips as it is, it just shouldn't have happened. I got them done last week. Now I seriously really don't like to complain. I work at a restaurant, so I know how cr*ppy it feels to get a bad review, and I usually give places one more shot. I just don't know if I'd come back here if I wanted acrylics or gel tips, but I would come back for a regular mani or pedi, or regular gel! read more

In terms of mani/pedi quality, it's usually good but sometimes depends on your manicurist. Would give 0 stars but I can't. I had gotten my nails done here for my senior prom and they were really bad. I had gotten French nail acrylic. The woman made me pay after she put the acrylic on but before she even put the polish on. I said I didn't want to pay till they were done but they wouldn't finish unless I did. So I paid. When she was done with everything the nails looked horrible. I wanted them to be fixed but she just kept saying no they good they good. 2 days after I got them done they had already started to chip, break, and come off. Small, low key nail salon with no bells and whistles, but sweet staff and high quality UV gel nails. I went in with acrylic nails on requesting a fill in and was told they only do UV gel, not acrylic. Offered for me to pay the fill in price to get my acrylic removed and a new set of pink and white UV gel. I was hesitant for $60 but saw other ladies getting UV gel and they looked great. My UV nails look and feel so much healthier than acrylic ever did, so much more natural too. The ladies were very nice and reminded me to come back in 2-3 weeks for a fill in- I definitely plan to! Prices are a bit high for the salons quality, $28 for a mani-pedi, but what I received was wonderful and I will be going back. Not the place to go for a spa day or relaxation, but for high quality UV gel, go for it! read more

The lady I had apparently has been there for years and though she was nothing but lovely and nice the job quality was poor. I asked for pink and white set, was told only uv $80. I was in a rush so really had no choice and went ahead. They are not even, the white are all different none are the same size, there are bubbles on my nails that are very obvious, and she missed some parts in the thumb and pinky. I would never go back nor recommend this place. It's very sad because the place was so cute and relaxing but I would never pay for overpriced garbage again. read more

This is not a fancy salon, there not going to offer you a latte, But they can do gel fill-ins and pedicures. My nails were shaped perfectly and felt strong.. Great job..
