    Lovely big beer garden
    Dan B.

It's such a shame that this pub suffers from its location because it really is rather good. Great service, nice Wells & Young's beers, clean and smart, and a place so large that it can cater for pretty much everyone all at the same time. Separate areas for dining and watching sport on the TV help, as does the pretty big beer garden and conservatory. Not seen a pub garden so large since the Edinboro Castle in Camden - it looks a lot nicer though as it's been landscaped and has heaters on the decking, meaning it can be used all year round. The location is the only downside to be honest. It's a bit out of the way but as it's right next to Putney Bridge Road, the rail tracks and the flight path, the beer garden might get a bit noisy. Not a problem if you're inside or outside with a crowd of friends or family though. It's a good job they put on so many lively events to bring people out of the way. The occasional sports on the TV (but not all the time), a tasty Sunday roast, quiz nights on Mondays, poker nights on Wednesdays, and gourmet burger nights on Thursdays mean that this is a lovely lively place to visit. Not sure I'd come here unless I was living/working locally but I'd definitely consider it for large groups and parties or a barbecue.

This is a largish pub on the outskirts of the town, Youngs beers on hand pump and it has a reasonable food menu. There is a garden at the back or comfortable chairs inside. It is quite popular on weekday lunchtimes , I can't comment on the evening trade. It is worth the extra walk to find it.

This place. THIS PLACE! we just recently visited London for the first time, and this place was right around the corner from our AirBnB flat; if we ever moved to London, we would probably move to this area, just to be able to go here every day. Such a cozy, wonderful atmosphere, lovely patio, AMAZING food, and the friendliest, nicest bartenders. Philip, Karol and Peeta made us feel at home, and then some, and Philip saved us from a potential disaster when i left my wallet there on our first night. He had it safely waiting for us the next morning when we frantically banged on the windows before opening. COME IN for the full English breakfast or the roast (which we sadly missed, but heard great things about) on Sunday, the wild boar bangers and mash (in-freaking-credible), or the fish and chips. STAY for a cozy table with one of the board games they have or the quiz night!!!! Can't wait to return here one day!!

Roast potatoes were over-cooked, chicken was dry, Yorkshire pudding was cold. I think the food was lying in the fridge too long.

Nice pub, good beer garden, awful faux gastro food. Shame. New chef and this could be a great pub.

Within the first three minutes of sitting down, three different servers came over to ask about drinks. Shortly after our drinks arrived, two more came to check if we were ready to order food. When we said we wanted a bit more time, we were reminded that there was a two-hour time limit on the table, which felt unnecessary since we had only just arrived. With about 23 minutes still left in our booking window, plates were already being cleared and the bill was brought over, which made the end of the meal feel rushed. We ordered the Sunday roast whole chicken to share. It came with green beans, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, mashed carrots, and two small pots of what seemed to be parsnip purée. The chicken itself was a bit dry, and the purée is a bit confusing. Overall, the experience felt more rushed than enjoyable, which was a shame as we were hoping for a relaxed pub lunch.

You check in upstairs and you go downstairs with your table number for seating. It's nicely decorated in lights for the holidays. Food is amazing! It's elevated traditional English food. We ordered Sunday Roast (because it's Sunday), Pork belly and their Sea bream. Roast beef was cooked to perfection. Their sauce is delicious and their horseradish paired perfectly. Their pork belly was really good, especially with their crispy crackling, really made the dish. the Sea bream was also good with their crispy skin and buttery lemon sauce. You need to get their apple crumble for dessert, it was so deliciously yummy! Crunchy, creamy, salty and sweet, it was perfection and perfect way to end an already scrumptious dinner. This is the second time we've been here since we've visited London, and it won't be the last!
