I spent my birthday dinner here after a stressful trip from Paris. Located in Crawford place its in a quiet street and i think that just makes it better. We came in on a Monday night and was welcomed right away. Our table was cozy but seemed to have been just cleared and was not wiped down(it was very sticky that we had to request extra napkins to wipe it down). The food is delicious but nothing special. I had the Fish and chips and hubby had the burger. Really a nice place to dine and drink. I will come back if Im staying close. read more

They were busy on the Thursday night at 6:30 when I asked for a spot for dinner. They were kind enough to find a small table in the corner. I ordered a London's Pride and the fish & chips. I then saw the amazing specials on the board but got my food and was happy with my food. The service and food were perfect, and the atmosphere lively and comfortable. Typical English pub offering Sunday roast. Nice cask conditioned ales on tap. I had two small appetizers for lunch. The chicken wings in a sticky Asian style sauce. These were boneless chicken wings. Delicious. As a side I got the oven roasted potatoes in goose fat and they were good. Could have had more of a goose fat flavor. Crowded and they recommended reservations on a Sunday. read more

First time experiencing a pub in London and it did not disappoint. I really wanted to try the pea and nettle soup, but they were out unfortunately. Instead, I opted for the Scottish egg with piccalilli. I learned that piccalilli is similar to curry pickles. LOVED IT. Vibrant in color and full of flavor. For mains, I got a beer battered haddock. Going full British tourist here. The breading was light and the fillet was large. Perfection. My friend got the sticky ginger pudding with vanilla ice cream for dessert and it was amazing. The ginger was present but not overwhelming and the sticky pudding was piping hot. It went well with the ice cream. Overall, it was truly a great experience and could not ask for a better send off back home. I hear they do a mean Sunday roast! read more

We arrived in London and this was our first pub stop. It was late. Stefan greeted me and was honest, letting me know they were almost sold out of food. He attempted to make me a reservation at their sister pub who was also out of many entrees. We opted to stay because they still had some great options. The fish and chips were delicious. The beer options were great. Stefan was helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend this local spot and we will probably be back before we leave! read more

I had a turkey roast here and it was delicious; swimming in gravy, topped up with long carrots, soft mash potato, and more chunks of meat. The pumpkin pie was also delightful; sweet yet subtly spiced with pumpkin and wonderfully paired with cream to give a melt-in-the mouth quality.  The quirky art on the walls are certainly unique, the furniture is wooden and if used for a party the rear area is well placed but quite cramped if accommodating for more than 40 people. The staff appear friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is vibrant.  Understated from the outside but serving up tasty food and having an impressive variety of beverage options lining the walls, The Larrick is everything you could hope for in a gastropub. read more

Lovely, airy pub right in the heart of Marleybone. The brunch is delicious and their Bloody Mary packs a punch! The staff were accommodating and made us food despite having issue with their stove when we first arrived. I would highly recommend as a spot to grab a drink or meet with friends. read more

From the outside, it looks like any other pub in London. Once you enter, however, it's amazingly spacious. Big open rooms and tall ceilings punctuated by big picnic tables. It's got a farmhouse feel but is modern shabby chic. Drinks are nice. Staff are nice. I'd be happy to return. read more

Found this gem of a place in a sea of turkisk, indiuan and iranian place sot eat. Located down a back street. The pub was busy and had a good atmoshere. one section appeared closed off for a coprorate function but there was plenty of room and tables. Large bar with many tables. there is variety of beers on draught as well as many wines and fair selection of spirits. The menu is small but teh dishes sound very tasty. ther eis also a specials board. No actual GF menu but the chef will mark a menu for you of dishes he can do with gluten. The food was exellent and i had a special of the board. I had sea bream with brown shrimp and capers, was well cooked and extremly tasty. My friend has steak and chips and he said it was good. We had some drinks and were also brought table water and glasses which was good as well. Looekd at desset menu but not as inspiring as mains espeically for GF so didnt bother. Excellent spot to get your day started with bottomless bloody Mary's and mimosas on Saturday from 11 am - 3 pm. Really chill service crew. I recommend their blood pudding scotch egg and their poached egg avocado toast. Simple and delicious dishes. Their Bloody Mary's are a step ahead of the curve. I went here yesterday, we had a group of 12 people just for lunch, and booked ahead, so they knew to expect a large quantity of people. We ordered drinks and food, and waited. And waited. 20 minutes later we got our drinks, however they forgot one beer, so we had to wait again for that. An hour after we ordered the food, we finally got it - they must've only had one chef on or something! Still, the food was nice. I ordered Eggs Royale, which was eggs benedict but with smoked salmon. Most other people ordered burgers, which looked good. My eggs were lovely, very runny, however someone else who ordered the same had very hard eggs, the food didn't seem very consistent. The worst thing was that they brought the food out drip by drip, not at the same time. A caeser salad was second last to arrive, and most other people had finished by then - you'd think a salad would come first! My Eggs Royale came very last, so I was eating about 10minutes after everyone else finished. The service was very poor, with only one waiter serving the whole pub, and whilst the eggs were lovely, I wouldn't recommend this place, as he was very unfriendly, didn't apologise over the numerous mistakes and slowness, and it was very expensive for what it was. UPDATE: Perhaps I was too hasty with my initial review, as i've since been back half a dozen times, and always ordered the eggs royale - they certainly improved after the first visit, but the service could admittedly improve. Despite making a reservation and pre-ordering, our food took a long time to arrive and weirdly for a sit down meal, there was no table service for our drinks. It felt like our table had been squeezed in and indeed we were asked to move our table closer to the door to fit another one in. Staff were rushed off their feet and not coping. Clearly too many reservations had been made and this shows poor management. It's hard to be critical of the staff who didn't manage to give us a good night because they were trying to do their best in a bad situation. The food was mostly OK, however nothing to write home about and the portion size of the different set menu options varied wildly. The roast main was a big feed; the gnocchi with butternut squash was tiny. The right size for me, but some of our party were left hungry as a result. It's probably a nicer venue outside the festive season, but I'm not sure I'd go back to find out. A real shame. read more

We had just spent the whole day in the city traipsing around in a scavenger hunt. We were hungry and thirsty and The Larrik delivered. Our group, visiting for a wedding, was a big group. We had grandmas and babies, even the wedding couple ( who were getting married the next day!). Over 20 people. We managed to split up into a few tables and the servers brought out extra chairs without batting an eyelash. Tasty cocktails were on special, and a selection of craft beers were on tap. The food came out quick and hot. The menu was diverse, not the usual pub grub. The servers and bartenders were always friendly and accommodating. The orders came out without any hiccups and settled without any mistakes which is not often for big parties. All in all, many pints of beer, multiple bottles of wine, plates and plates of food had been consumed and we were a happy bunch. read more

I hosted an event here for an afternoon and it couldn't have gone better. The group of 30 business school graduates we hosted had a great time, which was a credit to everyone involved. The staff was great, the service was prompt, the drinks were cold and the food was tasty. The neighbourhood is quiet, which makes this spot perfect for a relaxing pint. I love the open windows that look out onto the street and let in plenty of natural light. And that's all I have to say about that. read more

I work close by, so we regularly head here for lunch and occasionally drinks in the evening. Their business lunch is pretty good value: choose a main from a specific menu plus a small wine, beer or soft drink, all for a tenner. The menu changes regularly so there's always something delicious and new to try. Service can be slow on busy Friday lunchtimes. In the evenings, it's very popular and so gets rather squished. Overall, though, this is a great local pub with consistently yummy food. read more

The weather outside was frightful and our tummies were rumbling. We were in search of a different pub on New Year's Day. We happened upon The Larrik and decided to go no further. So glad we did. As Jonathan E. said, from the outside, it looks like any other old London pub. On the inside, the place is roomy, more modern and even has a large, comfy couch, matching leather chair which we made a beeline for. They have large candles on all the tables and all the way around the perimeter of the restaurant next to the windows giving the place a warm glow. They've also hung large linen dampers not the ceiling the dampen the noise. Thankfully the place was quiet when we got there, but it didn't last long. Within a half hour The Larrik was packed. The food is pretty good. We had the Scotch Egg which I can't really begin to describe. I believe they use a duck egg in the dish. It's soft boiled, pickled egg that is rolled in all kinds of different things like bacon, flour and fried. Cheese and crackers which included and amazing Stilton and chutney. We also had the Artichoke Heart and Lima Bean Salad....which was my favorite. The service was immensely friendly. We chilled on the couch, drank many pints and really enjoyed the warm, dry and lovely glow of the Larrik on New Year's Day. read more

To be fair to this place I only popped in here for one pint. I might have stayed longer but they ask you to come inside after 9pm because they're not allowed to have people drinking outside after bedtime, which kinda sucks. It struck me as a pretty decent little pub tucked away of the beaten track; good atmosphere, the food smelt good and they have a plasma TV showing football. Came for some traditional British fish and chips our last night in London!! My boyfriend got the fish and chips and I had a Caesar salad. The atmosphere in here was great-- no tvs so it was a nice place to hang out and chat. The seating outside also looked nice but it was full when we got there unfortunately. read more

A nice place to hang out, nicely decorated with quality old fashioned, but chic English decor. Frequented mainly by the very smart young and middle aged, but fine for older people as well. Service is from well spoken and smart staff. Very nice food, the kind that is so good they do not have to mess around making mutton look like lamb. There's nothing bad about the Larrik and it is better than many others in the area, but it's nothing to write home about. The food is standard gastropub fare. There's nothing exceptional and it's just about worth the money but I couldn't be pressed in to saying it is good value. The beer selection is small and uninspired with one or two real-ale offerings. It's not really the sort of place where I'd like to go for an ale anyway. The restaurant-style layout makes choosing the Larrik for a casual pint unlikely, though a couple of worn leather sofas do provide a relaxed option. It's always packed after work and people like to spill out on to the street. The staff are affable and efficient. Essentially, this is a very well run pub. It just falls short of being really special. read more

Have to go with just Meh on this one, sadly. I brought my Mom here on her first night in London. As a few reviewers mentioned, the fries were not bad, but my stilton burger was dry and overcooked. The real problem was with the fish and chips, which seemed to have no seasoning of any kind (not even salt) on the fish or in the batter - the fish tasted like wet cardboard. (I know, if you want fish and chips, there are places to go in the neighborhood). I was at least hoping to have a couple of good pints, but it seemed (unless I couldn't see them) that they had nothing at all interesting on draught. Ended up having to go with a generic mass-market pilsner (1664 or something). Overall just not the experience I was hoping for, despite the nice atmosphere. read more

I'm currently watching the rugby here, which is easy with a projector plus a large flatscreen. The commentary is loud enough to hear, but does not seem to be disturbing the diners eating what looks to be very tasty nosh. The menu appears to offer classic gastro-pub fare at a very decent price. Burger is £8.50. The layout is spacious, with interesting artwork and a bookshelf with the National Geographics, among books. A large photo of Einstein is relatively special. This is a nice, relaxed place. A pint of 1664 costs £3.50. read more

It was obvious that this is a popular place because most of the tables had reservation signs on them. Nonetheless, the manager pulled a table out of the back for the two of us. My wife had fish and chips, which is her favorite meal. She rated these a "above average". To me, it looked like they had given her a whole fish. She made good work of them. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. I hadn't planned to finish it, but it was so good, I cleaned the plate. I had an Altbier, which was really yummy. The manager said it was locally brewed and not exported. The staff were all friendly and the service was prompt. It's a comfortable place with lots of wood and old, worn, furniture. If we were staying longer in the area I would go back. Some of the items on the menu looked tempting and I'd like to try more of their beers. read more

I danced Scottish reels here last night - very pleasant low-key post-modern decor, nice staff, and the coqu au vin I ate was excellent (if a bit salty). The music was on the loud side of pleasant, on the rare occasions when the ceilidh music was switched off, but it was still possible to talk to one or two other people at a time without shouting - group conversations would probably be difficult. Otherwise, I'd give it a 5-star review for the ambience. read more

I've only ever come here for drinks and snacks.. it's a good pub, with an open interior in a modern style. The bar is stocked with a mix of standard and some premium drinks but I'd like to see more London brews and spirits on sale. Thank goodness they're using fever tree as the mixer for my G&T now. The service was a bit off on the fairly busy Thurs we were there and at the end of our time we only got one tonic for our gin and I think my friend was charged for 2, hence the lower score.. that said it's good for a leaving do and I've attended many here! read more
