Do yourself a favor and just avoid this place. There's no integrity of appointments. I've been here three times now expecting a different result, shame on me right? The owners consistently overbook. I've been sitting here for an hour now, while other customers are getting their nails done. If there is an issue with time management do yourself and your customers a favor and minimize the advanced bookings to create a better customer experience. Three different employees approached me with the same questions while I wait, "you have gel", "choose your color", then the last one proceeds to hand me a nails to choose, yep you guessed it, a color. All of this in an effort to buy time for an appointment they had no business accepting giving the volume. Let's talk about the work they do, it's basic at best. The manicurist are slow, frequently cutting you with the nail file, and blantantly ignoring your request to skip cutting of the cuticles. I have debated if I would leave this review and I have already communicated all of this to the owners and they simply treated me like they did not care. I understand in the great scheme of things one customer not ever coming back does not mean anything to them which is why I want others to know about the way I was treated. 1. Tina was awful to me. I had to tell her over and over how short I wanted my nails. It was not until I was in frustrated and in tears that was she willing to listen to me. I was made to feel as if my opinion about my own nails did not matter. I should not be so frustrated over my nail length that I am in tears. 2. I very specifically asked to be scheduled with the person who did the nails in the picture that they posted on their IG. When I messaged them, I was advised that that is who my appointment would be with, it was only after she was almost done with my nails as she was doing my design that another nail tech said it was Leo who did those nails in the picture and not Tina. If Leo had not passed me off to begin with I would not have been treated so poorly. This nail set was specific for my Dad's funeral so the colors meant something special and Tina even questioned me over my choice of the red shade I chose and tried multiple times to get me to choose a different red that she said was "prettier" I spent over 2 hours and $97 to leave knowing a nail salon made me cry and not listen to what I wanted on my hands. This was not the first time I have felt as if they were treating me poorly but it will be the last. I have been coming to Queen A for about 2 years. It is the only nail salon I have been to since moving to Astoria. I sadly now feel the need to go elsewhere. read more

As soon as I walked in they seemed like they were mad I was there. I got my nails done on Monday and less than 24 hours later two of my nails were chipped. I went back in on Wednesday and told them what happened and they fixed it for free but did not seem happy. Oddly enough there was also another woman there that was getting her nails fixed because they chipped two days after getting them done. Now on Saturday two more of my nails are chipped (one being the one they just fixed on Wednesday) and many other nails are already lifting. Keep in mind I work in an office environment so I don't do any heavy lifting, only type on a computer all day. I like to give salons the benefit of the doubt but I won't be going back here. The woman doing my nails did one at a time, meaning she painted one nail and told me to put my hand in the UV light and she kept going back and forth one by one. I've never seen this technique so I tried to be nice about it but obviously it doesn't work. They do offer a stamp card so you can eventually get free services after spending so much money, but I will not be going back. read more

I usually have a better service but I went two days ago,with appointment, and they reacted like they didn't want to take the appointment. A lady called Cici started doing my nails and it was clear that she was bored. I told her "not to shorten my nails length" she said "yes yes" and did It anyway. I did gel manicure. They made me move my seat and made me stay in a position which it was really uncomfortable. I went in there wanting acrylic but they said that would take too long and didn't have time to do it so they convinced me to do dip powder, which I don't like in the first place. I showed them a picture of what I wanted which was a different shade of blue with some design which they said they were able to do. As they were doing the design it felt like they learning how to do it for the first time. I asked for a coffin shape but she kept making the tips very wide and I kept trying to guide her to shave down the sides but they were just so wide at the ends. I ended up telling them to just get rid of the design cause it was so bad and do a solid color. They also didn't not shave down the dip enough so they're very thick and chunky. Been coming to this nail spa ever since I moved to NYC thanks to friends' suggestion. Place is clean and staff are very nice. They have a wide choices of nail services and nail colors, both powder and UV gel. They have spa pedicures that are relaxing and worth the buck. Really disappointed that this is the only salon in the area. I've had issues several times now where I have an appointment where I wait 20-40 minutes to be seated. The one time I waited 40 minutes after my appointment time and they told me it would be another 10-15 minutes so I walked out. There's clearly no point in making an appointment as they don't honor them. I've also seen this happen many times to others. I'm also annoyed as I got a gel manicure one week ago and it chipped. I've never had a gel chip before. Not to mention there's significant growth between the nail bed and the gel already as my cuticles weren't pushed back so it looks like it's a two+ week of gel manicure now. I should have learned my lesson and not come back here ever again. I wanted some simple nail art, I showed them the photo before we started and they said they could do it. The time comes to do the art and the woman doing my nails couldn't figure it out, she calls over another woman and still they could get it. Eventually the owner comes over and he can't do it either. I just said ok fine just do the French tips, she couldn't even do that right. My nails were horrible, they left polish and glue on my skin and under my nails. The French tips were horrendous. They post some decent nail art on IG but it all must be done by one person, definitely not the woman who did my nails. That same night I removed the polish over the dip powder and redid it with gel polish, waste of money. This has been my go to spot for powder gel manicures! They have a huge selection of colors to choose from for powder and regular gel colors. Amanda & Leo are the best technicians. I usually get a marble design on one nail & comes to show that not all technicians can do this design. My powder gel manicure usually lasts for 3-4 weeks long without any chipping or nail breaking. They are very accommodating with knowing what to do when your nail breaks/chips. They are familiar with nail shape terminology & know how to shape them well! Time frame for manicures are around 45-60 minutes depending on who does your nails and if you get any design. If i do get a pedicure & manicure, the time frame is close to two hours (paid parking purposes). It's more convenient to book an appointment in advance. Same day bookings are usually available. Walk-ins are usually around a 15-20min wait. read more

I asked for a tip on just my two big toes, a man put acrylic and super thick that it hurts when I wear sneakers. I made the appointment over the phone and asked for leo, he estimated it to be around 50 or 60 if i added a design. when i got there leo said i would be taken care of by another person, which was fine. I've come here a handful of times by now, I was never too pleased or too upset with the service I got. I really tried to like this place because my friend is a fan but all I've gotten were gel manicure and pedicures that never lasted it's money worth. I've gotten cheaper manicures that lasted me wayyyyy longer than these guys. But this last time I went...it permanently horrified me and they successfully lost me as a customer. I was getting SNS and the lady (I don't know if she was new or what) but she made me nails look so fat because she didn't shape it after putting on the powder. Before she put on the powder, when she was filing my nail, she filed A DAM DENT into my finger!!!!!! LIKE WTF!!!! You can see in the picture I attached. I must start by saying that I understand that businesses have incur new expenses since Covid for sanitizing and keeping the businesses safe. My experience was not a good one for the following reasons. I asked to see if they had time for a simple Mani and Pedí. The gentleman at the entrance hesitated and said Mani only. Which I was fine with me, even though I asked for 2 services. I did bring my own polish and quick dry. There was nothing fancy about the Mani. It was done in minimal time. I was expecting to pay $11 or $12 for the Mani because of Covid, but it was actually $13 which I thought it was a little steep but what could I do at that point. But what I found distasteful that they actually made cards on each station stating pretty much that they expected a 15% to 20% tip. I don't believe it was necessary. People tip can they think the job is worth. Myself being in the service industry, I understand that tipping is a big part of my income. But I would not put a sign telling customers what they are expected to tip. I did tip her 20% that is with or without a sign. read more

I spent about an hour at the salon which was a bit longer than expected, but it didn't bother me much. The lady who took my powder gel off did a nice, clean job, sorry I don't know her name. Leo did an amazing job with the manicure. My nails were already shaped, so Leo just did a clean up, but his skills at painting the nails were remarkable.
